Texture load error: "TX_W_Imperial.Broadsword_blade01.bm

I have been running Morrowind modded successfully for weeks now, with my wife, and we both get the same warning when we either enter certain smiths areas (like Fort Moonmoth):

Warning: Model "Mashes\w\W_Broadsword.Imperial.nif" tex not found

followed immediately by:

Texture load error: "TX_W_Imperial.Broadsword_blade01.bmp"

I have looked into my mods, and it appears to be coming from "darknuts weapon textures" since it includes "tx_w_imperial.broadsword_blade01.dds". I tried going into fort Moonmoth, buying the Imperial broadsword, and when I try to equip it, instant blackscreen and crash to desktop. I am using Wyre Mash fork. WM has annealed the mod, shows nothing missing, none skipped, and shows these conflicts:

Mismatched:
Textures\tx_metal_strip_01.dds
Textures\tx_metal_strip_02.dds

Conflicts:
=Higher==
==14== Visual_pack
textures\tx_metal_strip_01.dds
textures\tx_metal_strip_02.dds

and a long list of skipped dds files.

Textures\tx_w_imperial.Broadsword_blade01.dds is one of the files listed under "matched."

I have searched (here and Internet) and not found anything using that filename.

How can I fix this? Can I somehow copy the original Imperial broadsword texture, rename it, and let that be the new model?

If the game isn't finding the texture, you might want to try re-installing the mod.

Wow. Sometimes the simplest fixes are the one, that worked. Thnx. Thread solved. :)

No problem. I can't at all be certain about why the texture would've been missing in the first place if merely installing it proved good enough to resolve the issue of it missing. My only guess is that you had an older version installed previously, or, in cleaning out your Textures folder one day, accidentally deleted it.

Something to note, is that a number of the official nif files reference bmp files, but if you look only dds files are present in the archives. This means if you put a bmp in a archive it won't find it and most likely search for it's dds counterpart (and probably fail).
