Texture showing in CK doesn't match the one shown in game

I've been creating a few recolored armor sets. Absolutely no change to the actual mesh. I've done about everything I can think of, but the items I've modified (showing the correct color in the CK) refuse to change color in the actual game. Here's what I've done:

1) Opened the dds textures in photoshop, recolored, and saved as new texture.
2) Used nifscope to change the diffuse texture on the original mesh and saved as new mesh. (New mesh shows new color in nifscope preview window.)
3) Made a renamed copy of the original armor's "armor addon" and changed the reference for the mesh from the original mesh to my new nif. The color change shows up just fine in the aa mesh preview.
4) Made a renamed copy of the original armor set and changed the armor addon reference to my new aa.

Opened up skyrim and added one of the new pieces of armor to my inventory -- still shows original armor texture.

So, just to be safe, I...
5) Created a new texture set using the new diffuse and original normal dds textures.
6) Assigned these textures to the mesh in the aa. Again, looks great in the preview.

No change in game.

I've tried changing the load order for my new mod, but that didn't do anything. What am I missing?

Never mind. I just realized I didn't change the world model in the armor set.
