Thane tasks need changing!

I am the DRAGONBORN! I am the most awesome person in Skyrim. I slay Dragons and absorb their souls, I finish Civil Wars, find Daedric artifacts, etc, etc, etc.

Why then do I need to cut firewood (or do any other "favor" for the common rabble in order for a Jarl (who is actually beneath me) to grant me the title of Thane and my own personal Housecar?????!!!!!

I suggest a change to this. Any one of the following will do:

1) clear a certain number of dungeons in the hold.
2) kill a certain number of bandits in the hold
3) clear the opposing Civil War camps from the hold
4) or any other thing that allows me be continue to be "known" as the legend I already should be in that hold without having to LOWER MYSELF to doing mundane errands for people that have never even left the Mill, for example.

Please Bethesda stop making me everyone's little gofer in order to be named Thane and receive a personal Housecarl! I AM DRAGONBORN!!! Jarls should be lining up to make me Thane!!

Man, your Dragonborn is really full of himself.

I'm sure that the Jarls will be lining up to grant you titles if you insist that they're "beneath" you.

They'll grant him the title of Royal Dóuche.

And by "grant you titles," I mean just that, though the titles -- epithets -- may not be the ones you want...

Jealousy will get you knowhere! Seriously though, here is an example; I completed the entire CW QL straight through when I started this new character. I'm trying to play him a little different by doing what kind of makes sense for him rather than heading straight to the cool stuff I kow about. I was forced to begin the MQ when I went to Whiterun during the CW and also did Blood on the Ice as it came up on my trips back/forth to Windhelm, but that is it.

So, I have now been called DB and have fought side by side with Ulfric and even killed Gen Tullius for him. I stood by him when he gave his speech and so on. Now, I finally buy Hjerim and ask him if there is anything else, he says there is room in his court for a Thane and sends me back out to be known by the people! After all this wouldn't that be enough? Wouldn't everyone already kinda know who I am. I think the character would be a little past chopping wood by this time, wouldn't you?

Anyways, my point is that there should be some sort of alternative to becoming "known" as I suggested in the OP rather than the typical "favor" you are required to do. Especially when you consider all the really cool stuff you are doing at the same time. I know the point is to get you to interact with the NPCs and so on but what if you are trying to play a character that is not so interested in that?

My DB will now seek counseling as he evidently has some sort of personality issue that causes him to come on too strong.
