Thank You Bethesda.

I just wanted to say, amongst all this negativity and whining, thank you Bethesda for giving us a game worthy of the name of ′The Elder Scrolls′. It may not be perfect, but it is the single most entertaining game I have played in a good while.

Thanks.

You don't have to say thanks, you earned it with your 60 bucks.

No no they went waaay above and beyond $60 worth of entertainment. A movie costs you $13 bucks for maybe 2 hours...you will be paying less than a dollar per hour of entertainment if you play the game in its entirety and that running through it.

I also thank Beth for this amazing achievement, especially on a console..It looks unreal great and the game itself is amazing.

Haters are going to hate and I posted in a thread earlier that RPG geeks seem to be the most entitled gamers out there..so I am sure Beth takes there blabbering with a grain of salt. I would.

Still doesn't hurt to be respectful and well mannered. So even if I don't have to I'd still say thanks for making a good game. Not quite the best yet, but still good.

Did they give you a free copy? I had to pay $59.96 for mine.

And let me assure you, they didn't go "well and beyond" the worth value of 59.96 with Skyrim--or any of their other games. If they did, then they would have gone out of business long ago.

yes they did go far beyond. Lets take a great game like Dragons Age Origins and compare it to Skyrim. How long is a playthrough of DAO? Maybe 20 hours,, 25 if you push it. How long is a playthough of SKyrim? You could make it go on for Hundreds of hours if you wanted to because its not on "Rails". Much more effort and love for their craft went into Skyrim, more so than your average $60 GAME

Lets be fair a "normal" DAO playthrough is 30 - 40 hours.

Sorry but 20-40 hours of gameplay for 1 game doesn't equal 20-40 hours of gameplay for another. That's not how it works. The main story for Skyrim is, what, 10 hours? I have no idea how long it is, but I do know it's very short and if I had to grade it I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10. The rest of the game consists of going to basically the same Dwemer ruins and dungeons over and over again. But that's the price of an open-end game. On the other hand, there is less freedom in Dragon Age Origins, but the characters and story are more developed.

Really, you go to the same dungeons over and over again? Im 50 hours into the game and have never revisited a dungeon.

Why are you only looking at the Main Quest for Skyrim and comparing that to other games. Skyrim is bigger than the main quest. If you can't admit that then why even debate with you.

Would you only buy Skyrim and play the main quest?

I get what the OP says and agree. It has nothing to do with $. It's a thankyou for a well crafted game.

I didn't mean literally the same dungeons. I meant there are a handful of dungeon themes and after the main quest is finished, the rest of game consists of retrieving item X from these dungeons or killing X in a dungeon, etc. So, yes, you can play Skyrim for a long time, but is it time well spent? Or is it just fluff? All of the story, dialogue, etc., in Dragon Age is good quality, but the con is players are more limited. To use another example, Daggerfall was an enormous game, with more dungeons than skyrim, morrowind, and oblivion, but the dungeons were all basically the same thing. So the point is you can't just compare gameplay hours with gameplay hours. You also need to factor in the quality of the gameplay as well. 10 hours of tetris isn't the same thing as 10 hours of FF7.

I understand what you are saying. The characters in Dragons Age were very well fleshed out and the dialogue was top notch. I would expect nothing less from Bioware. But the game was on rails. No real freedom. The same setting were visited over and over, even more so in DA2.

Im Skyrim, I reall do not have an issue with the dialogue. I think most of it is very well done. Voice acting is good. Even on the side quests, such as the forsworn conspiracy. For sych as large game like this, they cannot make ever NPC dialogue top notch and meaningful.

My point was that I believe that there was more of an effort put into making this game (thus more expense), so when someone said something like were not getting our sixty dollars worth, Im just asking people to consider the effort put into make this huge game as compared to to other games which are shorter.

Lets not forget the music and sounds in the game, which are very well done and add alot of value to the overall experience.

+1

For all it's many technical flaws. The only game that pulled me in with equal gravity was Ocarina of Time.

Well done Bethesda.

Thankyou Betesda for yet another wonderful game. The game is more than I expected it to be and have been havng a blast these past 109 hours I've been playing it. It's been a very long time when I last had a game I felt the need for a 48 hour gaming session. Over a decade ago I last did this, and I've fully enjoyed the time.
Despite all the folks here complaining and whining - the game is great. Polished? Not quite; yeah a few bugs. But can over look them looking at the overall scope of the game. No game these days comes out bug free. But that is the advantage of today's technology for patching and DLC. And its understandable for delays for the patches with the requirements needed to patch on consoles; and not focusing on one platform over the other for priority. Everything should be worked out in due time.

Again; Thank you Bethesda for allowing me to relive a new-old world.

From the little surprises to the small 'stories' a location often tells, to the big surprises like Blackreach, Skyrim has so much to offer.
Its a great game.

Seconded

Totally disagree. You should become a game developer, just so you can realize how many extra miles the Bethesda devs put into this game.
