Thank you Devs

Hello fellow Brink fans, haters, and most importantly, Brink Development Team.

I wanted to express my gratitude to Splash Damage for bringing us Brink this May.
Although there is a lot of bad press, reviews and strong opinions; I believe Brink is THE title to have in my library for the 1st half of 2011.

Thank you.

Thank you for taking the risk and making a game that doesn't fit perfectly in the FPS genre. I really hate seeing the game being compared to Halo and Call of Duty. Brink is not a run-and-gun style game.
Thank you for trying something new, even if the broad (see: ignorant) gaming audience doesn't accept it as a blockbuster title.
Thank you for bringing me back to my gaming roots and challenging me the way old school C64, Atari and NES games did by taking control out of my hands and forcing me to work with the game and/or teammates.
Thank you for the strong support and pulling together an immediate patch to correct minor issues at launch. Many other teams forget that gamers do like to play their games and already shift their focus to a new title. Hopefully, there will be much continued support for Brink in the future and I will be thanking you again for amazing DLC releases.
Thank you for designing creative levels and imagining the artistic style for character models.

Most of all,

Thank you for developing a real video game that I can enjoy at it's purest form, by yelling at my TV and throwing my controller because the AI isn't doing what I want it to do.
This always brings a smile to my face at the end of the day, especially when all the pieces finally fall together and my team snags the win.

Splash Damage, thank you for giving us Brink.

Heh, you probably want to avoid getting shot but I tend to sit back a bit a use a light rifle.

By run-and-gun I'm pointing more at Left 4 Dead or Halo where it's the general idea of the game.
