Thank you to everyone

Lol but thats not a good excuse.
1. Obsidian had limited time and they still came out with FNV and got good reviews.
2. Plus the reviews cant eat it ok?! You need to start taking in the reviews a little bit. Because they matter.
3. Not to mention it got rated a 2/10 by another website also.
4. This game SCREAMS terrible.
5. And not to mention it was in the worst game of 2010 is really bad.
6. You cant argue with that right there.

1. Probably because Fallout is a big hype while AP got a big hype then it died down due to it being pushed back half a year.
2. They don't really matter, it's all about some guy/gal's opinions put on paper with a rating they gave next to it. And we all have different tastes in games and what we consider important so someone giving a game a perfect 10 is not going to matter if I think that it's gameplay looks boring as hell. :P
3. 2/10? And it was rated that low because?
4. It screams slow start but other than that it's very interesting and challenging.
5. It was? Who was the jury for that?
6. Sure we can, can argue about everything, I say that the sky is pink, now let's debate.

( I have not played the game)

Should try it. ;)

Like I said I did not play the game so I don't know about any flaws. My point is he likes the game and others do as well. To hell with ratings. People can come up with what they like on their own. They don't need others to tell them what to like. I guess you have never heared of "cult classic." Still I get your point, if the game sold poorly and so on the chance of a second is not great. Still, the man likes the game so who are you to say he should not?

Anways let not derail a good thank you thread.

Yes i understand you point to. Im not saying that he should like or not. Im saying theres a very slim chance that they should make a new one since the old on is terrible. Not to mention even suggest to make one.

Alpha Protocol discussion should belong to the Obsidian forum.

But I would make one post about it.

While it have many, many flaws that shouldn't appear in a UT engine game, and it was too combat heavy to be call a spy game, it does provide some nice cross progress quest, nice dialog options and consequences.

Unlike the other Metal Gear Solid "inspired" game, which cheat the formula of its forefather, AP blend it with their own flavor.

It is one of the few "modern" game I have play with good core game mechanics.

Ace, you are pretty much, derailed this thread, to heck, dont like the game, fine then, dont play it, but dont judge people who wants to do it

Some people wait for another Alpha Protocol, companies pretty much dont care alot about reviews too, why do you think that some companies like SEGA and EA still release sequels about their games despite another reviews?

Alpha Protocol got positive reviews in Europe, but not in USA, so, why they should care about it, at the end of the day, they are purely subjetive, not all of us care about it

Look for example Resident Evil 5, highs scores and good reviews, yet is a horrible game
Fallout 3 got good reviews too, the Fanbase on the other hand..... didnt receive it with warms hands

The reviews:

They can go to hell for what I care about them

But they got lucky with FNV.

First they got "lazy"
Now they got "lucky"?!!!!

Yeah sure, I know where this thread is about going to end
Mods please!!!!!

Lol. Im just stating facts about this game. Theres flaws in it and he knows it. Well you should care about ratings becuase there also from the people for the people. They help you get a understanding for the game. He at least need to credit the reviews espiaclly when they dont get no higher than a 7!!

exactly ace, i find ratings pretty accurate, most of the game sites have both reviewers ratings and players ratings and they're usually pretty close, within a half point generally, i've played my share of games lately, stalker, metro 2033, FO3, oblivion, wolfenstein, mass effect 2, new vegas etc, a few others that svcked like army of two, game ratings are very accurate, i would say the games i played i would give about the same rating i find on the internet., they usually point out legitimate flaws and also the good things about the game. so to me they're plenty accurate.

To you guys. You.

Notice the You, for some reviews may mean jack[censored], it may not, it's all opinions.

Ah, okay.
Dunno then, Diablo 1 and 2 were fun but those games are more kind of action hack and slash games with RPG elements.
Still, it might be fun and if so I'll buy it to casually play it.
Depends on it's replayability really.

I love Diablo 2. Still play it. It is extremely addicting, not even kidding. My friend and I had to duct tape our disks and throw them in his garage to keep passing grades... It svcked but I found it!

Agreed.

Not true, I would most definitely be here, and did you just imply that Fallout is no longer an RPG is is now an FPS, because I do so frown at the idea.
Thank you Adam Smith for writing the "Capitalist Manifesto" and helping create this environment in which all of this is possible.

Capitalism, while it may not be perfect, is a functioning alternative to other systems that have not shown their ability to function at the same level.
Thank you Karl Marx for writing your [censored] Communist Manifesto and creating the Cold War with your ideas

That is... no... [censored] Karl Marx, damn him to hell, his stupid ideas have led to millions of deaths at the hands of evil communist dictators like Stalin and Pol Pot.
Thank you America, I love this damn country

Indeed.
Thank you parents, I like existing

Don't forget to thank Uncle Sam for your existing happily.

Thank you Bethesda and Obsidian. I hope Beth keeps cooperating with Obsidian to design Fallout 4 using Skyrim's engine with all strengths and no weaknesses of FO3 and NV. :fallout:

Lol your kidding me right that was rated the worst game of 2010. Obsidian doesnt make that many good games. But they got lucky with FNV.

There is a big difference between being rated the worst game of a year, and being the worst game of a year.

Do you know about Bidone d'Oro or the Razzies? Bidone d'Oro is given to the worst football player of the year in Italy, and Razzie "awards" are given to worst actors/movies, but they are always given to big, overhyped movies and stars because of disappointment, instead of the real "worsts". Alpha Protocol was a very disappointing game because of being released unpolished, but if anyone truly thinks it's the outright worst game of 2010, they should play more games, period.

this thread makes me nauseous.

You emit nauseousness? That thought makes me nauseated.

I'd like to thank my kid for playing fo3 one day when I walked by his tv.
I'd like to thank my boss for hiring me so I could afford to buy it and all the other FO games.
I'd like to thank Josh for honestly trying (but not quite getting there) to make the weapons acceptably realistic.
I'd like to thank all the guys on the forum who were here prior to release for all the great speculation and conversation leading up to the final day. Most have gone on, rarely do I see them around, but you all know who you are, and kudos to those of you who have stuck around, and are posting constructively. I kinda miss my gun nuts.
And finally, I'd like to thank the non-constructive posters, who also know who they are, who seem to have infested the forum while I was on vacation for a few weeks. I'd like to thank them in advance for changing their less than constructive ways and positively contributing to a polite and respectful conversation.

Thank Tim Cain and the rest of the Fallout 1 design team. They came up with almost all of the conceptual material that FO2, FO3 & FO:NV are based on.

Just thought about it, perhaps he means that AP was the worst good game of 2010? Because i can think of some pretty terrible games, games that might as well be minigames.

But no! That would be way to easy and user friendly!!! Steam was the way to go! :goodjob:
