Indeed. Obs has, to my knowledge, one licenced and two original products in the works (in addition to DS3) - AP2 is not likely to be among them, but who knows.

Is Dungeon Siege an RPG franchise and how if so how RPG'ish is it? (Sorry for the offtopicness)

DS is a Diabloesque dungeon crawler RPG, combat and loot are the main things there - but Obs is going to put their staple storytelling there too. I dunno about specifics as these type of games are not really my cup of tea, and I've never played the earlier DS games.

Ah, okay.
Dunno then, Diablo 1 and 2 were fun but those games are more kind of action hack and slash games with RPG elements.
Still, it might be fun and if so I'll buy it to casually play it.
Depends on it's replayability really.

From what little I've heard, there is going to be some choices and consequences implemented with multiple endings so if the gameplay delivers, it may indeed become a decent ARPG.

Thanks Obsidian for making New Vegas, and bringing the old Fallout spirit back to life. And thanks to Bethesda for saving the Fallout franchise and even letting Obsidian work on it.

Alpha Protocol was a great RPG done very well, ratings can eat it, every problem it has was because of SEGA not giving them the time or resources needed to do the job right and they still got awards for it.

Lol but thats not a good excuse. Obsidian had limited time and they still came out with FNV and got good reviews. Plus the reviews cant eat it ok?! You need to start taking in the reviews a little bit. Because they matter. Not to mention it got rated a 2/10 by another website also. This game SCREAMS terrible. And not to mention it was in the worst game of 2010 is really bad. You cant argue with that right there.

Only games I've played by Obsidian is Alpha Protocol and New Vegas and I love them both.
Alpha Protocol is like Deus Ex except cut back on the whole cyberpunk thing and has heavier RPG elements with a dash of Mass Effect conversation wheel (one that is better than Mass Effects IMO. :P ).
And New Vegas is the best out of a bad situation, the best of a Fallout game possible when considering they had to use Gamebryo, SPECIAL tweaked for FPS and one sandbox map rather than a map node system.
I love both of them.

There was a review a while back where some guy reviewed american reviews and european reviews on the game.
And he found out that most (not all, but most) american reviews where negative while most (not all, but the majority) european reviews were positive.
And he said it was about how you view the game, if you're into the whole run and gun combat and just want another shooter then you're going to dislike the game while if you're looking for an alternative RPG then you're going to like it.
Wish I had the link to it cause it was a great review on reviews.
Anyway, not going to put words in your mouth but "maybe" you viewed it as an action game.
Nothing wrong in that, but the game wasn't for you.
If you're ever going to give it another try then try to think of it as an RPG more than you think of it as a modern day shooter.
Might have a different opinion of it then. :)

Lol. Im just stating facts about this game. Theres flaws in it and he knows it. Well you should care about ratings becuase there also from the people for the people. They help you get a understanding for the game. He at least need to credit the reviews espiaclly when they dont get no higher than a 7!!

I agree. While I don't pay much attention to reviews, I do read Game Informer's, as they are usually pretty good at reviewing.

Like I said I did not play the game so I don't know about any flaws. My point is he likes the game and others do as well. To hell with ratings. People can come up with what they like on their own. They don't need others to tell them what to like. I guess you have never heared of "cult classic." Still I get your point, if the game sold poorly and so on the chance of a second is not great. Still, the man likes the game so who are you to say he should not?

Anways let not derail a good thank you thread.
