Thank you for an awesome game!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU! To Obsidian and Bethesda, Fallout New Vegas is simply amazing. I got Fallout1 on day one and same with Fallout2. I was not that impressed by Fallout3.. while beign fun it was MISSING a few things to me that kept me from really enjoying it.

With Fallout New Vegas its like playing a next gen TRUE FALLOUT game! I love it!
In all honesty.. the only thing that Fallout3 did better then New vegas was the radio stations! To me the Dialogue is WAY better, the gameplay is better, more rpg elements, better characters, better story, more missions, better graphics, better atmosphere, LOVE the factions aspect to and I slightly prefer the voice acting (although its really good in both).

Amazing job Obsidian! I am an old school rpg fan who has been playing RPG'S for about 22+ years and I just want to say thank you for giving us a kind of rpg that we dont get often these days... one with great story, characters, dialogue and rpg elements! I have beat the game 2 times already and am on my 3rd time now and its very different then the first two times! Fallout3 I kind of felt like I was being forced to play it and it just didnt feel like true fallout to me, but this one sure does!

Hoping we get the DLC for this to on PC! I dont buy DLC ever but I would do it for this game! Just perfect for my rpg tastes!
Playing this game brings me flashbacks of playing Fallout1 for hte first time on release day (:

Also one more thing, the patches you have released have REALLY helped! The game has ran well for me since release but a friends computer had alot of issues when the game came out, now with the latest patches its running alot better for him! No huge bugs that ive noticed (1 crash in about 90 hours with the game)

Yeah its wierd, usually when I beat an rpg I dont go back to it (there are some games Ill beat a 2nd or 3rd time but very rare).
Last night I played for 5 hours straight, I couldn't belive how fast time went by! Exploring the game is just to much fun, really pulls you in (:

Nothing like seeing the sights in the capital wasteland! Although FO3 was the first time I heard of the series and must have played it all the way through 5 times, New Vegas couldn't have been a better compliment to the game. Aside all glitches. FO3 ran much better, but I play NV and absolutely time just vanishes!

NO just no. I have loved FNV also but there is alot of stuff that could have bin added. The graphics did not change what so ever. They were to lazy to change them. The Combat(which was barly any) was terrible hardly any challenging enemies around the wasteland. No places like a Dungeon to search and explore. Half the Locations or more could be searched within 5 min pretty sad. F3 had a totatly better Fallout atmosphere also.

I'll second that entire post almost verbatim. :tops:

Having played Fallout, I can't agree. Fallout3:New Vegas doesn't even have that ~but its waaay closer IMO.

No. 1.They used the same engine, that's why they didn't change them. 2. Well, you're just playing on Very Easy. 3. A dungeon is not Fallout. A dungeon is Elder Scrolls. 4. It's realistic. Would it take you 5 hours to run 4 miles, like in FO 3? No. Unless of course, you spend you're time in a darkened room. 5. You haven't played Fallout or Fallout 2. If you mean nuclear Fallout, then I agree. Though they were a little drastic there.

No. Graphics didnt change because they couldnt change them, not because they were lazy, they had this thing called a deadline and had more important things to do before the deadline was reached. Combat actually makes sense in NV, level scaling made all enemies, even powered armored soldiers, pushovers and the bullet sponges added by BS were BS. Fallout has never really been much of a dungeon-crawler grind-fest, but there are actually quite a few good cave systems to go spelunking in. Deadlines, bro, deadlines. Fallout 3's atmosphere made no sense after 200 years, "Oh DC was hit very very hard and still looks like it was hit 5 days ago" "... then leave... other places would obviously be much better off than this place, then."

5 minutes, then F3 would look like the city was on fire, say 5 years instead.

FO3 and NV are both fantastic games, but NV is heads above FO3 for re-playability, atmosphere, storytelling and everything that makes a RPG a good RPG. The only bitter taste I have is the appalling state NV was in when it was released - although that didn't stop me playing it - any other game would have been thrown in the trash with the amount of problems it had.

I think that's testament to how good Veags is - the fact that I still couldn't stop playing it even when it was so broken I couldn't even complete some of the quests!!

Lol....

Yeah it's awesome, until you start figuring out how static the gameworld actually is.
But it's good for at least 3, 4 playthroughs, it's better than most games at least.

In Fallout 3 you could finish off a power armored Enclaver or a Deathclaw with a Rolling Pin. Try that in FNV...

I agree.

The first time I played NV I expected it to function like F3. So with my 9mm pistol I boldly ignored the "keep out" signs at Goodsprings Cemetery about and thought I'd check out that ravine. Giant radscorpions? About 5 of them? At level 1? And hang on - my pistol is doing basically no damage here. I found that combat quite challenging in a fatal kind of way.

i thought NV was far from awesome. This game kept me amused for a month, FO3 a year! There were not enough interesting places and alot of the quests were dull, resulting in you running back n forth like an errand boy. The dialogue was better but with less action which makes your second playthrough pretty boring, listening to the same stuff all over again. People that blame bethesda for the bugs, glitches n freezing dont know what state the game was in when it was given to them. My guess is it was a complete mess that would have taken a long time to clean up. All games have a deadline, 2 years should have been long enough considering they already had a working model in FO3.

I feel the opposite, FO3 was boring as hell with level scaling and linearity at levels to great to speak about without tears.

Too many inaccessible buildings

Too much civilization

Not enough armor options, although there are plenty of weapon options

I do like this game, but I'm not as addicted to it as I was to Fallout 3

Also, whats that deal with melee weapons? I kill someone with a super sledge and they just fall, like a sack of potatoes.

I play on very hard now and i use to play on normal. But its just to EASY mkay on any difficulty. I love F3's atmosphere because it felt Really falloutly. They were to lazy to overhaul the engine to make the graphics better anyways. Theres no enemies patroling in the wasteland at all and the enemies that do are easy.
