THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME GAME

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 7:01 pm

Just wanted to say Thanks to Beth team somewhere, seeing as the game is getting bashed much.

I play Fallout since the originals, Fallout 1 and 2 are still my favorite games of all time, closely followed by FO:Tactics.
However Fallout 4 is realllyy an epic journey for me so far, i just love the endless options and possibilities, love the sights, the detailed atmosphere, the semi-cyberpunk setting and environment.
Love the one liners and raider dialogues, listening to em tell stories about a tough-ass broad executing gangs, just before busting in with Piper and smoke em out for good. Love how some quests are branching.
Love how the animations improved, gotta love the hair physics....the shadows...and omg, stalking on the rooftops in the Fens, assassinating whole raider parties i would otherwise not be able to do in a full frontal assault is really a fun experience.
I adore every little detail this game has, and i almost cried at some of the nods to the original games (like having Natalia's hairstyle, and also the name Natalia available for NPCs to say).

I'm enjoying every minute of this game, and im hoping youre going to continue releasing content for it for a long time.

fallout 1-2 were amazing i agree

i think you are just going through some sort of new buyers excitement though

the game is like fallout 3, version 3.9 (NV was 3.5). Certainly not next gen worthy and not the game of the year most were expecting. You want to see a leap in development? look at the witcher 3 and how that evolved in half the time this series has been going on. just saying

Thanks for the game and I am loving it. Part of it might be the new car smell but I doubt it.

Piper best companion B)

Yeah it definitely has it's glaring faults, but I'm still having a blast. A big step-up from 3 (which I personally thought was "meh") in many departments, they really did manage to surprise me.

I disliked FO3 fully, the only portion of that game i actually liked was The Pitt (95% copy paste from my favorite Sliders episode)
Fallout NV was really good however, but only with mods. This game is only missing some Mark Morgan scores to be perfect :> So i would say its the complete opposite of FO3.
You see i never played Witcher games, and i dont intend to, i just hate premade player characters.

I am just getting into this game so my point of reference may be a bit small (I haven't even ventured into Diamond City yet as I am too busy exploring) - but I am REALLY enjoying this game.

Fallout 3 was, hands down, one of my all time favorite games. I played it to death, earned a platinum trophy (PS4), and still went back for more a couple of times to play with different builds and tactics. The world was amazing to explore, even if it was a little bland in regards to landscaping and color.

Fallout 4 builds on that experience so well. There are a few things that I miss, as far as tactics, mechanics, and options from Fallout 3 (it seems bullet time is happens less often, and while modded weapons are cool it does feel as if it takes a lot longer to locate a weapon that packs a good punch - especially in terms of a rifle); but, I have no complaints so far whatsoever.

The landscaping is much more colorful and diverse, I am really enjoying the new tactics and surprises that old enemies incorporate, and the storyline (so far) is very engaging and interesting to play through.

I look forward to the DLC that is in the works because I already know I plan on exploring every inch of this world.

witcher 3 was solid but it was not some ground breaking achievement...I don't think fallout 4 is "groundbreaking" either but it's the best game I've played in a few years

I thought the same thing, then got to diamond city. I think there are definitely better weapons in the city than in the wastes. though it could just be that I was a higher level and the enemies were better equipped.

Finding bugs is part of playing the game. And this community thrives on bugs, so yes thanks to the beth team.

I have problems with Fallout 4, but it's great in its own right.

Fallout 3 was a great game with mods if you ignored how stupid the main quest was. So far Fallout 4 has been 10 times more immersive, and it's still vanilla.

And yes I like Piper. When I use the scope I don't have her head and ass constantly in the way like a certain other companion. Her dialogue is also much better than anything in Fallout 3 or Skyrim.

I'm still early days in the game myself but the art direction on display here is awesome. There's a real sense of place and specificity here, down to very small details.

And I find the crafting very engaging. Now I can tag materials I need, its really structured my scavving in a nice way. This must be what MacGuyver sees. :)

I didn't get the art myself until I went to diamond city. as far as Boston goes, all I can say is WOW. everyone complained about the rubble piles in 3, well, so far haven't seen that in 4. I found the crafting a bit complicated at first, but now love it.

....hell if you can find joy in hunting down bugs in a finished game then more power to you. but i didt buy it for that reason, especially when im trying to make a melee build and find 2 really annoying bugs in 10 sec. thats just a bad job on the testing part no matter how you cut it.

+1. Minus the issues that will be fixed in time this game is amazing. I can see playing it off an on for years!

only bug I've encountered so far that's effected game play was my arms disappearing. couldn't bring up my pipboy, or if I did, couldn't see it. went into 3rd person, then back to first, and it went away. of course, the game hasn't been out a week so I'm actually surprised there aren't more. I usually wont buy a game till it's been out a few weeks to let the bugs get ironed out. but with FO4, just couldn't wait :D

how come when people disrespect each other's opinions in a post that criticize the game you lock the whole post down, and here you just remove the posts?

This was my first warning post in this thread. With the one I'm assuming you're referring to I went in and cleaned out posts half a dozen different times, and warned I was going to lock it if it kept up at least three times.

Edit: Seriously... That thread is 2 pages, you can still see my posts in there. I don't know how I could have been any clearer.

If I have to remove half a dozen posts each time I check on this thread and it gets to the point where I have more posts in trash than in the actual thread itself I'll close this one too.

If you have further questions please do so via PM so that we don't derail this topic.
