Thanks to the spammers. We no longer have a PC demo thread!

Post » Thu Apr 02, 2009 10:19 am

SO the PC Demo Announcement thread has been locked.I must have posted maybe 3 or 4 times max in that thread but because of 4 or 5 spammers and another 4 or 5 agitators.we no longer have a PC Demo thread to discuss in.I would like to take this time to thank Cry-Tom for starting the thread and Cry-Adam for ending it after giving fair warning. It disgusts me into thinking how some people just ruin the community for vigilant and patient members such as myself. Given, while I agree the demo announcement was best left unsaid until a proper release date was announced, we are lucky to even get a demo.I am proud to say I support Crytek and their amazing Cry Engine 3.I look forward to playing with the mature portion of the community when the game and demo hit. This thread is intended to pay respects and not to start any flame/spam wars.Read the rules and have fun waiting patiently.

Only the first post had any 'useful' information, the rest was utter spam and I don't care if it's locked or not.

Well, its your fault for reacting. Trolls are there to irritate. Deal with it. How can you expect us to improve as a society if we remain as weak-minded as ever?

Weren't we doing just that until now? Besides it was actually pretty cool to see 2000 comments don't you think? And as one of the admins said, there were alot of valid points made in that thread concerning various things although most was spam, but hey, I had my laughs ;>

To be honest, they had it coming. I'm glad action was taken upon their accounts. Spamming just useless nonsense to get the thread post count up... Are you kidding me? Jesus.

Anyway. Tomorrow, it has been two weeks since the demo announcement. What the hell guys? We're supposed to wait a month for just a release date or something? What's with all this non-sense regarding the demo?

Telling us that "it will come some time before the release of the game" is basically the equivalent of being told that the bus is coming some time before the end of the day at a bus stop, in the morning. Being repetitively told this same old crap, I'm sorry, gets on my nerve a little bit. Can you really blame me?

OK, if you're assembling the demo and you can't really be sure you'll have it released by X date, tell us so. Why can't you just tell us what's going on? It's not that hard and honestly, that's the only way to keep these guys quiet anyway. We've been waiting for this game, we're excited for it, but these bull**** statements Tom keeps posting are only doing more harm than good. Tom, here's an idea - get us some real information for a change. I think we all get the picture here, the demo could be released some time before the release of the game. We get it, alright? It's not that we don't get it. We do. We just can't relate to crap like that.

If you guys were just a little bit more open with us, your fans, who have been waiting for this game for months/years, we could relate to that. We could appreciate that. I'm not saying that the announcement of the PC demo isn't anything important at all, it is. I appreciate that. But that doesn't mean that beyond that, you can just forget we exist. Which strictly seems to be the case here.

"Stay tuned for more details" <--- I'm sorry, whoever wrote this clearly had no idea what they were talking about. Two weeks is a bit too long to be "tuned into a site" for, no?

This thread is quickly heading down the same path as the thread that was locked for the same reasons.

This kind of stuff is not welcomed nor does it contribute to the conversations. Cut it out please.

I never thought that topic would be closed, but well no-one listened and thats the consequence i guess. Lol we learnt the hard way :S orwell guess that will shut us up until the demo is released, i'v said a thing or 2 that sorta is a bit offensive so just throwing it out their sorry :), other than that this has to be the most active forums i have seen in any game, the mod's constantly posting and trying to keep us under control lol. So keep up the good work! (=

*Trolls inbound to close your thread*Yea I just posted my disgust in some fellow community members that caused that thread to be closed a couple hours ago, and they immediately used my thread to bash the community some more, causing it to be locked.Im having a hard time enjoying the use of this forum when people ruin it over a demo.

It was an anticipated end to that thread, but it's a good thing, right?
I mean, no one was seriously injured (Except the unlucky few who read the Justin Beiber Crysis 2 remix) and now Crytek know the demand for the PC demo.

To tell you the truth, the ones who derailed the thread were the ones who have only been here for a brief time at this community.

Honestly, I posted there only a few times simply because I thought their was going to be an interesting debate between us. It simply ended up with spam and idiots. Of course, when we found out it was announced, I was pretty damn happy about it and so many others were too.

The members who spammed or trolled got their warnings. There's forum rules for a reason. If I can abide by it, surely everyone else can?

In any cases, patience is a virtue.
