Thanksgiving in the Wasteland

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:12 pm

We all shuffled in, left our guns at the door
muscles all aching from the hell that is war
for one single day we put tensions aside
and sat at the table with eyes opened wide

We gobbled up Cram topped with gravy so thick
and savored Iguana roasted right on the stick
InstaMash flowed onto everyone's plates
Roy shared with Tenpenny (whom he normally hates)

Moira won praise for her wondrous dessert
some of which splattered onto Gob's undershirt
Jericho sat in the shadows and smiled
and told us all stories of his time in the wild

Just for one day, all our spirits ran high
free from the scowls of Deathclaws and Yao Guai
and when the night fell, we returned to the grind
of war in the Wasteland, with Thanksgiving in mind

FOREIGNER. Sorry had to. but Thanksgiving is a holiday in America that celebrates a day where colonists stopped shooting at Native Americans and had one huge feast instead.

I think that they take offence to being called "Indians", they're NATIVE AMERICANS.

I liked the poem.

I'm hoping no one does anything to get this thread locked. I'm planning a Twelve Days of Fallout Christmas, myself.
