Is that an orc?

Judging by the skinny arms and complexion, pretty sure that's a goblin.

on things that have been confirmed numerous times in the past, or on something coherently obvious, as with this issue.

Don't you mean 'inherently obvious,' Tenth? It's obviously not obvious what that character is, as evidenced by all this discussion across multiple threads.

It looks like a goblin to me as well. It seems to me the looks of recurring creatures evolve with each new ES title.

Based on just about everyone in this thread, plus all the reasons I've given in the first page that you neglected to read. Your post is really uneducated, which is something I see more and more of everyday, and sadly will continue to see more of as the release date comes closer. I hate that people who spend time to actually read something and do just a minute bit of research have to shepard these forums and comb through the millions of duplicate threads on things that have been confirmed numerous times in the past, or on something coherently obvious, as with this issue. Ranting aside, like I said before, check my other posts. About your armor argument, it makes no sense whatsoever. If the armor is crappy, a goblin would have to be the only one to wear it? Might as well not even put it in for light-armor wearers or low-level characters right? I'm sure it's leather armor or some other sort of light armor bro. Many people wear that. I shouldn't even have to be arguing about this, so I'll quit it and hopefully leave this thread for good.

+1

It's a goblin. The arms.... plus how many screenshots do they release of race vs race? It's almost always a monster.

I won't lie, I was kinda iffy about using that word haha. I'll leave it regardless for kicks.

How? They would look the same if they were both standing upright. Basically a similar body-style anyways. We really really need a mod lol.

i just noticed that the players hips are quite a bit higher than the creatures and he also looks like he is leaning over the creatures right shoulder
and the forearm is quite a bit bigger than the bicep which goes right along with past goblins

Looks too green to be Dunmer...

I agree, its also two short and skinny. It is probably a goblin.

Edit: Dark elf skin is supposed to be greyish-purple. That's the way it's been forever. It makes no sense that they suddenly make Dark elves olive green. It's either a goblin or the poor lighting, but one thing is for sure, that's not what dark elf skin looks like.

No I think its an orc too. Look at the skin---is that Dunmer skin???

Plus--look at the ears... Both Goblins and elves have large ears, where orcs have no real ear extremities--like we see here.

Also, thanks for linking me to this page, I dont yet have these HD screens downloaded!

At first thought yes I thought it was a female Orc getting shanked.
I then realised why it wasn't an Orc.

I think I agree with Dunmer, the skin looks to be a sort of grayish color, whereas orcs are generally green. Also, I think the character looks a bit too lightly built to be an orc, so unless we're looking at a very skinny orc, I'd definitely not say this is one.

I certainly doubt that's a goblin either, too tall, and the figure looks too similar to a normal human or elf, unless Bethesda made goblins look more human-like than the ones in Oblivion, which I guess they could have, but the first thing that ocurred to me is rather that this is not a goblin.

Goblins don't look anything close to that, both bodies are the same size (ignore comments about "spindly" arms), there are NO ears in this screenshot, and the skin is not "olive green". It's gray with a BLUE tint. Seriously people, is it that hard to realize this is a Dark Elf? Probably a marauder just guarding the dungeon. Maybe even a Dunmer vampire. But NOT a goblin, orc, or draugr. Goblins have a totally different body shape, orcs are green, and draugr (undead) have skeletal-like figures, i.e. bones showing through their skin. Look at the screenshots and compare. It doesn't take a genius.

If that's an Orc, it's the shortest and greyest one I've ever seen.

I swear by all that is righteous and thiefy, that character gut-stabbing the Dark Elf looks exactly as I imagined my first character to look! The epitome of what I wanted Perin Cadlew to look like, down to the sword and hood!

I'd be willing to bet my post-release copy of Skyrim on the fact that that is most certainly a dunmer, no doubt about it. Unless of course goblins/orcs interbred with dunmer the 200 years since OB and now look like dunmer ^^
