There wasn't a thread and orc discussion kept pouring into the khajiit thread, so let's discuss the orcs.

Insanely badass.

It took one screenshot for me to decide on what race I'm playing first. Is that black facepaint? And a cruel looking curved sword? I'm in, let's do this thing.

Ok. I might actually play one now.

Standout features of the screenshot:

Are these configurable options at character creation?
  • Facepaint
  • Glass(?) eye
  • Broken tooth

Huge blunt spike on his shoulder
Ferns and kudzu
Mist in the background
Massive fallen tree
AND that scary looking sword!

I like the fact the orc doesn't look like a green human with an underbite and a pig nose. That said, the hair is not jiving with me. It looks way too blocky and...I don't know...not right. I'm not saying I don't like the style of the hair, just the implementation of it. Needs work.

Otherwise, love the face tat (Orc Tyson!) and the different colored eyes. Wide jawline sets it apart from human/elf as well.

Lol you are right, as I said in that post the khajiit was cool but didnt blow me away, the orc though? The Orc blew me a way, looks like a better version of the lord of the rings orcs, but just wish they dont all have the same basic looks of that orc in the picture, I hope they are diverse just like the lord of the rings movies...

Me like that that kind of orc. Much better then the big headed craggy faced cohorts from previous games. Someone shop a comparison image please.

I like it myself but you can probably use another hairstyle or go the bald route...

Very impressed with Orcs and Khajiits. Can't wait to see what female orcs and what argonians look like. The orcs still have their brutish and dangerous look without being hideous as well. It's a good look for them. It's very hard to explain, they look good enough to be worth playing but you still know they are ugly. Like I said, it's hard to explain lol.

Looks awesome :D seeing the orc look all beastly gives me some hope for the argonians and khajiit. But yeah... looks way better than orcs from previous games; I love it.

Also, does he have two different colored eyes, or is it just lighting from a weird angle that is creating that effect?

nvm, maybe I should have read the other 5 posts talking about it :sadvaultboy:

I hope the paint and eye are available in the character editor. Not like the eye-patch in NV. But, hey - what do we have the Creation Kit for, eh? I would really like to play as an Orc, but they can't really deal a lot of magic, right? I always play as some kind of battle-mage with a sword and some fireballs.

Cool orc, cool sword, cool place :)

Only wish his armor textures would be better though. They're so low-res compared to the face, which creates a rather big contrast.

I could do that...especially if the tattoo/face paint we see in that pic can be cusomtized to cover the entire head. That might just be enough to get me to RP an Orc for the first time ever.

Now I'm stuck on which race to play my pure fighter should be Nord, Orsimer, or Redguard...

Daggerfall was Red, Morrowind was Orc, Oblivion was Red. I don't like Nords, but was going to play one for Skyrim, but now...

Either way my pure fighter will be my fourth playthrough, but ugh that Orsimer looks so [censored] cool

Definitely looks more badass with the screwed up right eye.

I think Mr. T and Chuck Norris would approve
