I was thinking about the various races of Tamriel. And I thought, I really like/dislike some of these guys. Since I had some minor brain activity, I thought I'd share it with you guys.

What race do you like the most? What Race do you loathe the most? I don't mean in-game representations. I mean the actual races as a whole. For example, Bosmer have some amazing lore, but it doesn't show in-game, because they try to make them ridiulous.

This is just a poll about the playable races of Tamriel. Feel free to express your opinions on everyone, but I'm going to leave the poll as it is. (unless I've forgot someone)

Personally, I love Nords. I love thier culture. I love viking culture. I love how they know how to live (drinking, fighting, etc.), yet they will live (usually) a very honourable and decent life. They respect eachother and, at least in thier Bloodmoon representations, respect nature. They also hunt a lot. I like hunting.

I HATE Imperials. I hate their empire. I hate the fact that it's fine to ascend to a god, as long as you're an Imperial. If not, they'll send some guy to destroy your source of power. Even if you do actually help the people frequently, unlike the Imperial god. I hate their capitalism. They where in the process of ruining Morrowind's culture by abusing house Hlaalu, and pressuring the tribunal to sign a treaty, allowing colonisation on their holy lands. They pretty much embody all I dislike about the human race. I probably wouldn't hate them so much if it wasn't for Tiber Septim.

My second favourite would have to be Dunmer, simply due to thier amazing culture and interesting religion.

Tiber was a Nord... ironically.

I love and hate things about all of the races... although I don't have much to love about the Altmer.

All of the others are my favorites.

Hmm... Gap in my lore there. Well, my opinion still stays the same. He was pretty much an Imperial in a Nord's body.

I hate Altmer the most. No explanation necessary.

My favorite races would have to be (in no particular order) the Nords, Dunmer, and Redguards. Each of them have wonderful cultures and a strong sense of honor and duty.

I hate the altmer with a passion, it seems irrational at times. As for favorite, argonians have made it to be the #1 spot of most used race, followed by nords, then orcs and bretons, then redguards.

Exactly. If it was "Tiber the Mighty", or "Tiber the Strong", or even "Tiber Fire-eye", I probably would have thought Nord. Even more reason to hate him. He's ashamed of his Nordic heritage!

Hmm... I'm really interested in the views of those who dislike the Khajiit / Redguards. Seem to be some of the more sound races to me. Or those who like the... Imperials...

My favorites are the Argonians, Khajiit, and the Imperials. I've always been particularly fond of Imperials, though I may be biased.

I've never really liked Dunmer, because of slavery... But, the more I think of it, they're kind of cool, if not a bit odd.

I voted for Redguards as my least favorite. They never seem to have anyone who has a good sense of humor. The only one I've ever liked was Baurus. Maybe because he actually smiles.


My character is an Imperial/Breton/Nord mix. He has an Imperial name, yet is not ashamed of his Nordic heritage. He is fond of it, he would even gladly accept a title if he didn't already have "Lord"... Maybe I'll change that

I don't get why anyone would hate cats. What's wrong with us Imperials? We're cool. We're even one of the most dominant races! We've been fixing problems everywhere. What have you done? Have people kill unicorns? :stare:

P.S. In the favorite section of the poll you spelled "Bosmer" as "Bomer." Thought I should say something...

I just don't like the Altmer, slavery, arrogance, extreme ethnocentrism, etc.

Well.. It could be worse. I could have killed the culture of every race I'd met. And completely Imperialised anyone I could, and trampled on everyone to get where I am.

Hey dont get made at me I love Redguards Khajiit Argonians and Nords and I don't like Imperials much I wish they Would leave the other races alone.

Least favorite, Argonians. Cause they beat up on a race that was severely weakened by natural disasters, Daedra, Nords and politics. They are damn lucky House Redoran was not at it's height of power and the Dunmer weren't united.

There is no race that I dislike. I think they are all essential. Hircine makes it seem like he wants Imperials abolished.

The Summerset Isles is a terrible place to live. You aren't allowed to get a high rank in anything, people really don't like you there, you aren't allowed to study many different kinds of magic, nobody takes you seriously, people are extremely prejudiced against you. All of these bad things are negated once you're an Altmer.

That's why I don't like them much. I still like them, just not as much as every other race. Many of them think that they're better than everybody else. They'll call you a "creature", even.

It wouldn't be the same without my ramblings about Imperials, and having my characters destroy imperialism in . Just because I hate them, doesn't mean I want them to go. Though, I hope something bad happens to TIber. :shifty:

What's an Imperial anyway? Last time I checked, Cyrodiil was inhabited by Colovians and the Nibenese.

Thats a fault of Morrowind and Oblivion (ZOMG GROUNDBREAKING).

Favorite- Bosmer/Wood Elf

I like to be a short person, I like their really big pointy ears, I like their crazy-druidic personalities, and I like ranger-like characters, so I always play a Bosmer.
Also Fargoth, The Adoring Fan, Bolwing, and Thadon, some of the most memorable characters from Oblivion and Morrowind for their randomness are Bosmers.

2nd Favorite- Dunmer/Dark Elf

They are cool, uncaring, can be total jerks in funny ways, and they are fun to play if you are evil.

Least Favorite- Altmer/High Elf

They are total jerks. They are stuck up. They are weak against magic.

2nd Least Favorite- Orcs

They are total jerks. They are ugly as all hell. They tend to be very annoying.

ALSO NOTICE THAT NO ONE LIKES ALTMER, THERE ARE NO FAVORITES AND THEY HAVE THE MOST FOR LEAST FAVORITE!!! I think this says something lol.

An Imperial is a citizen of the province of Cyrodiil. Race doesn't even seem to be the only part of it. Non Imperials by race living in Cyrodiil consider themselves Imperials, so that term is a little less distinctive than other terms such as Bosmer, Orc, Altmer, Khajiit, etc.

By a racial definition, Imperials are the human descendants of the early Nedic people who resided in what is now Cyrodiil.

I know sarcasm is hard to detect over the internet but come on Seti, I know you're better than that.
