That unsuspecting victim...

Mazorga the Orc - after detonating tha Black Brujo.

It just felt so fitting: you side with a loyal figther on a quest you voluntarily took, have her help in detonating bandits and finally SHOT AN ARROW BEHIND HER BACK.

That was the 1st time I saw that Dark Brotherhood speaksperson approach.. rather cool.

On a second play, I murdered an Imperial (but I had some 'rp' motive).

Latest character, A horse.. which led to a guard trying to arrest me, which led to a fight which finally ended up a horse, guard, groom, - horses slaughter.
So technically a horse got me in, but a guard was the first human kill.

A snip from Chapter 30 of Buffy's Journal:
* * *
"Goodbye, Earana," I whispered.

At a well-practiced point in my breathing cycle, I paused. The fluid sequence that followed was the result of muscle memories developed through years of bow hunting. The bowstring came back to my ear, the arrow's tip found its final aim point well above Earana's head, and the fingers of my right hand that restrained the arrow uncurled.

The missile disappeared into the darkness of a high arc that would carry it across the city. After what seemed a breathless eternity, Earana was knocked from her feet. The pink glow quickly faded.

I very briefly had an ominous feeling - as if my actions had been observed by forces unknown. No time to think about that now, Buffy. I quietly moved along the east wall to quickly offset myself from the line of flight my arrow had traveled.

A few minutes later, I emerged from behind a large boulder. Wearing a blue and green dress now, I carried no bow. It had taken several spells to completely disintegrate Earana's murder weapon.

I walked over to join a growing number of onlookers by the Great Oak.

For me it was one of the ladies from the Sirens Deception quest. I attacked before she turned hostile, and killed her. It counted as murder, unintentional.

My previous character got the attention of the Dark Brotherhood by killing those people for Glarthir. That's a pretty sensible way to do it I think, better than murdering a random beggar or something join. You get paid, demonstrate your prowess as an assassin and show that you have no qualms about killing. It's an act that logically would be noticed by a Dark Brotherhood recruiter, and a nice precursor to those quests.

I always travel to the Imperial Cvity stables and cross the bridge to the town of Weye. I do the old mans quest about getting rumare fish scales and then turn it in for that ring. After I get the ring I wait until nightfall ... little does the old man know his doom approaches. . So I break up his house and creep to his bed., dab a little "sleeping aid" onto my blade. Then violently, and quickly thrust it into he's neck. Poor old man never had a chance ... and then I take the 12 scales I worked so hard to get, just to be a [censored] haha.

First murder was an act of anger, the very very first time I played the game

So, you know that dark elf at Weynon Priory? Well, I wanted a horse. Problem was, I had read in the manual that horse stealing was illegal.
As a newb I figured that if no one saw me steal the horse, it wasn't illegal (but because of the omniscient Legal system of Cyrodiil, it was :( ).

Anyway, before I stole the horse I killed the Dark Elf in broad daylight. Shame. Stole the horse, got arrested, payed the fine and the slept because I had levelled up and got the visit from Lucien.

Nowdays, If i want to deliberately join the DB, I break into a random NPC's home and kill them. :toughninja:

Hey, it's a dog eat dog world, y'know. :gun:

i dont know if that helps, but there is a 'no psychic guards' mod that imo improves the way murders and thefts are detected / recorded. u may try it (i dont use the hard version).

My current character, Amarel, is trying very hard not to murder anyone. ;) She's not the type to join the Dark Brotherhood.

My last character, on the other hand...erm. I wouldn't call them "unsuspecting victims," necessarily, but after spending an eventful night in Hackdirt, Relanna made very sure no one in that town was left alive. That brought her to the Night Mother's attention rather quickly.

Lol my current character Anna spent a strangely interupted night in Hackdirt too.
Considering everyone in Cyrodiil was out to kill her at the time, she put it down to half naked bounty hunters, hired by hardheaded harmoniums.
She did like finding a book that had readable script though, but wondered why a fiendish cookbook was on a churches podium.

Its usually the Gray Prince but since the Arena is way harder with OOO this time it was a skooma addict on his way back to IC from the den in Bravil. Really wanted to be Regulus Terentius but he's essential lol.
