The 999

The 999

The 999 are a corrupt form of 'government' that have taken over the Capital Wastes and eradicated the Brotherhood of Steel and all other factions, annointing themselves above all beings in DC. The 999's soldiers have been brainwashed into thinking that their lives didn't matter whatsoever, just their leader and their 'greater good,' which is the eradication of all evil in the Wastes, the eradication of everyone, in the Wastes.

The 999's or nicknamed 9's are brainwashed by the blue tonic the soldiers are force-fed, a horifficly irridated drink with halucinogenic properties. The men and women who have recently taken this are confined in dark rooms, strapped to surgical beds, and left for two days without food or water. The dehydration and starvation activate the human bodies last resort, the final source of hydration, the blue tonic, and so their blood becomes blue, along with their veins, eyes and mouths, it is told that the tonic destroys part of their brain so they only respond to a higher calling, a Commanding Officer or the leader of The 999's, who is completely unknown to everyone except The Chosen, 9 members or The 999 who are destined to protect their leader.

The soldiers are equipped with a special type of Power Armour, with blue energy flowing through it like it's blood, and are armed with Plasma Assault Rifles, all in all, a deadly army.
They become like Feral Ghouls, frenzied and deadly in battle, only responding to the call of a commanding officer and fighting alongside the ones of their own ranks.

But The 999 aren't all bad, they've managed to trace back the sciences of before the bombs fell, and have successfully recreated the many motorbikes littered across the Wastes, and so, fixing all of the main roads and motorways to make transport for them alot easier. They've also been able to perform some sort of purification process on large amounts of water, so most of the lakes and the sea surrounding the Capital Wasteland is pure and drinkable.

By this time the seasons have regulated themselves again, and it is now deep in the winter months and very cold.

Where you fit in:
You are The Resistance. An anti-terror organisation formed by a Mr. Will Shade (residing leader) when The Brotherhood fell, your job is to find how the 9's are being made and put an end to the construction them, and The 999 altogether. Will knows a little about The 999's leader, due to an unknown helper who leaves clues on where to go next on your journey. (All will be revealed deeper into the RP)

I'll post my CS's, the ones of the other characters I will controll, here on this thread, then start a new one when we're ready to get started...

Please send your CS to me in a PM if you're interested.

Gene was a bit of an outcast in the orphanage in Rivet City, he was often teased for being too smart and being bespectacled, the other kids often stole his glasses and made him run around blind trying to find them and get them back, almost always knocking his head and injuring himself, only then were his glasses thrown back at him. No one in the city would even pay the slightest bit of attention to some orphan kid, running around with a snotty nose, long enough to realise he also had a bloody nose and a bump on his forehead, so he had to 'lick his own wounds' essentially.
His medicinal skills were so tragic that he needed to find out more on how to repair his body, so he snuck into the Medical Wing of Rivet City and hacked into the Doctor's terminal, which he had an uncanny knack for, and found out alot more about the medic's world, eventually Doc caught him but realised his potential, so adopted him as his legal child (much to the Orphan Matrons suprise) and tutored him in Science, Medicine and a little bit of Mechanics. Later, when Gene was 25, his father learned about a new opening as doctor for the town of Megaton, a couple of miles North West of Rivet City, Gene, not having many friends in the first place was perfectly happy to leave the city at once, and he and his father set off towards Megaton.
Along the way, an odd chunk of alien technology fell from the sky and landed a few feet infront of the pair, Gene picked up the freakish piece of pulsing blue metal and hasn't put it down since they arrived at Megaton.

Lara survived the purging of the Brotherhood of Steel by hiding out with the Outcasts underground, she trained for months at a time on the Neural Interface Machine, which had lasting effects on her, she can become almost invisible any moment that she wants, but at the price of her eyesight, her eight months of her life she was blind, except in the simulation, she wouldn't leave the seat, there were some days when she had to be physically tied to a surgical table to restrain her from starting the interface, but it was for her own good. Eventually, the Outcast scientists gathered enough materials to make her prosthetic eyes, the eyes of a cyborg, the eyes of a monster. Although they completely heightened her sences to superhuman levels, she frenzied because of what they had made her, and killed each one of them, saving the one who performed the operation for last, metally torturing him until he couldn't take it anymore, she then tied him to a chair, with all his dead comrades around him, Lara left him for dead, or to go insane.
She eventually made her way to Megaton City, the nearest civilisted settlement, where she now resides in the smallest, darkest room of Moriartie's Salloon. She has gotten much happier since arriving at Megaton, and has ended her mentally torturing ways, and if she has to kill, which thankfully for the would-be victims, isn't often, she does it quickly and humanely, she chose the path of good, and decided to bring law and justice to any who do wrong in the world who will eventually affect her or her home...

Not only are you not popular enough to start an RP (ive tried it AND you just joined!), but you don't have enough skill. Your RP story is too weak and cliche for anyone to be seriously interested. Example, you said for the greater good, That's what Eden says. And how in the hell does this guy simply eradicate all factions. That in itsself is impossile to believe without some kind of explanation. Good title though. Check out my Fan-Fic/RP and get inspiration from there. Better yet check Pariahs (but check mines too).

Yeah, I purposely did that 'greater good' for mystery, that was going to be explained later, there's no need to just shoot my down within the first 10 minutes of the RP being up, just give it a chance to kick off, and if it fails, you win, and I'd prefer much more constructive criticism, or nothing at all.

Wow, wow Ant. You don't have to be popular to start a RP and I've seen this guy around here for quite a while, so I don't know how you would know if he's popular or not. It is kind of cliche, but that does not mean that it isn't good. By no means does she have to tell us how the factions were wiped out, we as the readers just have to accept it. My first RP I made had the factions wiped out for no reason, and it went pretty well.

If you want a good example of a RP you should really check out the Warren. The story does need a little more too it though. I going to re read it, think it over, and PM you may suggestions. The real problem is the lack of people willing to dedicate themselves to a RP. Anyway, don't discourage Firenze. And Ant...Be nice.

No offence Ant1v3 but that was a bit harsh and whats this about you just joned? Firenze joined about a year before you!, instead of just 'its too weak and cliche' explain why be more constructive. its hard to get RP's going around here people join them and then will just dissapear and the Rp slowly dies and thats only if you can get the people to join!.

I actually quite liked it, for inspiration the best RP on here i can say to look at is The Warren, its been (IMO) the best RP going around here for a while and its lasted with people still posting in it, however we are waiting for Jonas to get back on which is slowing things down a bit and i did say to him we could use some new members for the RP as there are people who have either stopped posting or hardly ever post, but it is still going strong.

Good Luck Firenze if i get spare time to be in another RP i might whip up a sheet.

Relax Ant, there's not reason to get mad or upset. Popularity has nothing to do with RPs. I've been around here for a time, and people used to really jump onto my RP Band Wagon, but lately with my last few RPs, nobody's really stuck around for all sorts of reasons. Before, people used to really think my RPs were good, and they usually went on for two or more threads, depending. But now, I just stick with letting someone else make the RPs and me choosing whether or not to join. And now I just usually stick to half ass Fan Fic's or what not.

Skill on the other hand, does have something to do with RPs, but you haven't been around that long to really be saying who has skill and who doesn't. I've seen Firenze in RPs (one of which was my last) and he did pretty well considering how far it got since people suddenly dropped off. (I haven't seen your skills in an RP yet.) But for the short time he's been around, he's done good. And whether something's cliche, doesn't matter because it's all been done before, just with a different setting and place and people. If someone started copying my idea of having wars on a hill (My Hill Site Series of RPs) than they'd be cliched, because I've already done them. But they'd be different because it could be a totally new faction or group, instead of the Enclave fighting on these hills.

Just wanted to comment that while I don't usually like militant RPs (too easy for it to become a game of oneupsmanship) it looks like an interesting story. I hope you can develop a good reason for why the BOS got wiped out though.

Also re-reading it the 999 strike me as kind of an Enclave like organization only instead of a vaguely democratic group of bastards they are a dictator group (...what is that fascist...I can't remember the word...dammit) kind of like North Korea under Kim Jong Il

Maoists are a good example, but it's not precisely what i was looking for. It's the form of government that contains dictatorships....government ruled by one leader....I want to say autocratic but i don't think thats it either.

Well saying you're ruling or ruled by a autocratic government just means dictatorship itself, and isn't anything different. You might be thinking of the word Totalitarianism or Authoritarianism?

Well, it's really a structure of society. Not a form of government. No. Totalitarianism would probably work best. Though I still think that Absolute Monarchy or Autocracy would fir the description.

I don't know about Actual Communism. The theory is great, the practice is...

At Strange:
I was thinking Totalitarianism but I thought there was a better word for it. Totalitarian Dictatorship...but is that redundant. I guess it is, I looked for the totalitarian dictatorship definition and it just redirected me to Totalitarian. Plus the definition lists the three people I was thinking of, Stalin, Hitler, and Mao.

Perhaps the leader of 999 is Big Brother. 2 + 2 = 5

Totalitarianism, is just a sort of umbrella term used for really deep and mean dictatorships. Like Socialism is an umbrella term used for anyone who might be a Communist, Maoist, etc. Totalitarianism, is usually what you're reading about in books such as 1984, Fahrenheight 451, and other Dystopian novels or stories that usually have a unrecognizable gap between rich/powerful and poor/weak. If I said I lived in a Totalitarian country, than I could follow up by saying something like Fascism or something where I have little to no rights as a person and human being. Same could be said for the USSR at the time of Stalin and later in Lenin's years, but really Totalitarianism gives little to no choice to the people.
