Is the ACES Theater broken for you too?

Post » Thu Nov 25, 2010 8:37 am

Right after I completed the Talant Scout quest it was fun to watch a few of the acts I recruited perform on stage at the ACES Theater.

Now I'm back to catch the rest of the shows I missed and nothing is happening. Instead of the acts walking up on stage, performing, and then the next act, now all it is is only the four dancers standing up on stage doing nothing 24 hours a day. They won't talk to me either. Just to try something I punched Tommy. He ran off stage and afterwards I could talk to all four of them but only Tommy ran off stage with the other three still standing around.

How do I fix this so I can see the acts at their regularly scheduled time? Is this a bug? Anyone else have this problem? I am banned from the TOPS for gambling. Did this cause that?

I've never seen any of them perform. They all just walk around.

I saw the drifter perform once, and the singer guy, but not either of the comedians.

I watched the cowboy sing, the four dancers dance, and the ghoul do his ACES Theater act ... then I left.

When I returned, the four dancers were on stage doing nothing.

The only thing that changed with respect to the TOPS Casino was I gambled and got banned. Being banned from the tables shouldn't effect the theater.

As I said before I punched one and (after the big ruckas and commotion) they all started talking again. Is this the only "cure"?

Yep I had the exact same problem that you did and after "ruffing them up a bit" they seemed to get out of their slump and be able to talk. Unfortunately neither them nor any other acts ever perform now.

One would think that there would be some kind of automatic reset for the acts.

This company needs better programmers for their games.

Have you looked at the Marquis in front of The Tops? Their names and times of performance is listed. Have you gone there then? If they don't perform according to the schedule, it could be a bug.

Right ... there are no more performances per the theater timetable.

Must be a BUG.

Only right after the Talant quest was completed did they all perform on schedule per the marquis. That was about a game week ago. For some reason the schedule broke. I returned to the TOPS a week later, played blackjack, got banned from gambling, then went to the theater to see the acts I missed the week before and discovered the four dancers just standing on stage when someone else was scheduled to be performing.

In one of my games it was stuck with the black guy from Novak on stage at all times and he never performed but I've had two games since then that worked fine. The board outside the casino near the gate has all the showtimes, each entertainer goes on at a different time but sometimes they hang up and stop rotating performances.

That's what happened to me only with the four dancers stuck on stage.

Is there a way to fix this? Maybe reset the whole quest?

Well ... I just stopped in at the theater.

The four dancers are now OFF the stage and back in their idle locations.

Progress? I don't know. I arrived in the theater at 2:30 and stayed until 8:30. The stage remained empty all that time. There was no 4:00 or 6:00 or 8:00 show. Then I left.

I hope this gets fixed. I think the same thing happend at the Atomic Wrangler. No stage shows after the first few days I was there.

I just found this at the wiki:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Aces

[pc] If the player has completed Talent Pool successfully, but one of the performers won't perform at the correct time, or one is stuck on stage and won't leave, it may be possible to reset the performance scripts using the console.

* Save the game just in case
* While in the Aces theater, activate the console with backquote. (See the console page for instructions.)
* Type resetquest 125498
* Leave the console and see if things have returned to normal. Wait for one of the performances to start and see if it starts correctly. If not, go back into the console and continue.
* Type sqv 125498
* You'll see a list of variables for the performances 'quest'. If one of the variables is 1, set it to 0 using, for example set "125498".DrifterPerforming to 0 (The double quotes around 125498 are required)
* Exit the console and wait to see things have returned to normal. Wait for one of the performances to start and see if it starts correctly.
* Using the console disables achievements for the rest of that play session, so if things appear to be fixed, save a new game, exit the game completely, then restart and reload the save so you'll continue to get achievements.

I'll give it a try next time I'm at the TOPS Theater. Evidently I'm not the only one with this problem.

Thank you to whom ever figured out the solution.
