THE AI ACTED APPROPRIATELY FOR ONCE!

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 4:43 pm

I was scouting about the external part of 'a' dwemer ruin earlier... Stealth killed one of the bandits... The others came over to investigate, saw the body, spouted some words of vengeance... And then, they all split off in different directions and checked potential hiding places... T'was beautiful... Then I killed them :tes:

Yep, the AI gets brainfarts sometime, but when it gets going, it gets going.

If you shoot arrows down some place, they'll go over to the arrow and check what it is, that's pretty cool too if you want to distract them.

I was doing diplomatic immunity and I went outside while wearing elvin armor. one of the guys spots me and went hey let me get a closer look at you you must be new here.

they noticed I was wearing there armor so he thought i was one of them at first. I couldn't see what happens when he gets a look at me because a dragon attacked out of no where.

this game man this game.

Yeah, the fact that NPCs notice what you are wearing - and the SIGNIFICANCE of what you are wearing - is one of the awesome things I'm glad Skyrim brought back and improved on from Morrowind. It isn't just in quests either.

I had a unique daedric artifact and a town guard passes me, stops, turns around runs back to me and says, "Wait! You have [specific name of the artifact]! How did you get that?! You must be someone very important!"

And then when they can't find you they just return to their spots and forget all about how you just killed one of their friends

I love the fact that if I am someplace that the AI can't get to or if he has good cover, he will stay hidden till I come out into the open.

I had one epic Necromancer fight where the main Guy would duck behind a wall while the other Necromancers flanked me. When I dropped them, he raised them back up as zombies. Every time I turned to fight them he'd pop out from behind the wall to snipe me with ice blasts. Had to seriously use up my health potion reserve in that fight.

Even though whats been mentioned above has been done in other games for years (Im thinking MGS in 1998) it's still nice to see that Beth has really stepped up their performance over their own previous games. The AI in skyrim blows Oblivion's AI out of the water.

I am unimpressed with your story.

Why?

Because the AI did the same thing in Oblivion, too.

It'd be nice if they atleast disposed of the corpse, and didn't leave the guy still sitting at the table, face down in his mead.

I'm just agreeing with the OP, and asking how could some people focus in a small thing, like a small bug, while there is an immense world around them.

AI has been doing "detective" tricks like that since 1998 when Metal Gear Solid came out, to be honest. Maybe even before that, I'm not sure.

Fallout 3/NV had disguises as well. I assumed that Skyrim would have that. Never played Oblivion until yesterday's steam sale, but I assume that also has disguises.

The Ai took cover behind rocks and fired spells at you? the AI is fooled if you wear their faction armor for a time? oh no Oblivions AI svcks Horse

when you can do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KN7cKO8-P0 in Skyrim then I'll agree with you.
