The Actual Pre-Order of the game.

Post » Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:27 am

I was doing some pondering and came to the conclusion that Bethesda will most likely release a GOTY or Collector's edition... So, should one wait for that, or, be impatient and pre-order as soon as possible? I think I will follow the former.... Your thoughts?

Definitely waiting for the Collector's Edition to be announced, along with possible pre-order add-ons like the ones we saw with F:NV.

Exactly why I haven't pre-ordered yet.

After getting my Oblivion collector's edition I know I wouldn't be satisfied with the standard release.

even if you go and preorder the normal edition its not like when the CE comes out that you can't cancel your order or upgrade it to the CE.
I am gonna preorder it as soon as I get the cash to pay off $65 at gamestop than when I can upgrade it to CE

There is zero reason to preorder it now. I'll wait to:

1. See what the DRM used on the PC version is

2. See what the collectors edition offers

3. See what sort of discounts various stores are offering for preordering (example: Amazon usually does $20 in game credit, Best Buy usually does a gift card + $10 gamer zone certificate)

For one, Skyrim would need to win a Game of the Year reward, and that probably would come with all the expansions a year after the game is released.

A Collector's Edition will happen, but probably won't be announced for a while. It won't really matter what you do, as you can always upgrade if you'd like.

Well, it doesnt really matter when you preorder, as long as its before November, so I'd just wait for the Collectors Edition, and the GotY edition won't come out till a few DLC's have been released.

I myself am waiting to see what is in the Collecters Edition then preorder.

Definitely going to wait for the Collector's Edition to be shown. I didn't have the money or hardware for Oblivion's when it came out, and came into Morrowind just before Bloodmoon came out, so I'm going all the way here. I'm hoping we'll have Collector's/Limited Edition info in the February 2011 GI issue, but it might take as long as until summer. Anyone remember when OB/FO3/FO:NV CE was announced with contents in relation to the release dates?

I'll wait for more info on the CE.

And since they'll probably go with those silly store-exclusive pre-order bonuses I'll wait for more info about that too.

At push comes to shove I would get myself a Collectors addition if it was 1000% scared it would insta sell out in all my local shops.

This is why I'm waiting minus the DRM issue since I'm an unfortunate soul that doesn't have a gaming computer.

If you got almost all of them in CE, you dont want an ordinary edition.

If it is on Steam I will buy @ launch and the DLC when it is on sale. If it isn't Steam only and I don't get it on Steam I will get the game at launch and then the GOTY like I did FO:3 and if there is a NotN type of DLC retail collection with minor add-ons I'll grab it on sale or clearance like I did the NotN pack.

I won't be pre-ordering unless there's a decent CS confirmed.

Without the CS the game would have to be near spot on perfect. And for that I'd await user reviews of players, so no pre-order.
