Well, for all who haven't seen, the new gameplay trailer for Skyrim is out. And boy, does it look promising! I was blown away, honestly. It was so fast though, it's hard to get a good grasp on things, coming in at only 1 minute 50 seconds roughly of actual gameplay footage when cutting out all the dragonwall scenes and ending.

Now, do not take this thread as a QQ thread or a complaining thread; I LOVED the trailer, and I think it looks amazing. I'm really happy with it. But, there are some things Bethesda should take a look at over the coarse of the next 8 months in preparation of launching this game
Issue #1 - Water Effects
The water effects in the trailer were, to be blunt, bad. That running water scene where the water is flowing down the rocks in the stream is horrid. It looks like blankets of solid texture rolling over the rocks, games 5..10 years ago have more realistic water effects. Heck World of Warcraft has more realistic water http://www.mmocrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/wowcwe.png You guys really need to look at a way to enhance the "feel" of flowing water. I can't comment on stagnant water as I haven't seen a good shot of that yet but, it probably needs to be looked at as well.
Issue #2 - Expressionless Faces when stabbed through the heart
In the trailer, we see a man stabbed in the chest, but his face has the expression of watching an episode of Lost; just kinda' chillin'. Why is this? Are facial expressions not something implemented yet, or do you not plan on having real time facial expressions throughout gameplay besides conversation? Real time expressions, just simple ones, like pain, happiness, etc would add immensely to the gameplay factor IMO.
Issue #3 - Low Res textures on the Dragon
I know that the game isn't done. I know that things are still being worked on. But I feel like this is something that should be looked at, even if it's not final. The textures for the Dragon were really low. Like, Morrowind low. I don't see any excuse for this other than "the game isn't done yet" and I hope that's how it turns out.
Issue #4 - Dragon Shouts
The Dragon Shout was awesome. I watched it over and over again, and it gave me chills. I cannot wait to do it in game, and to play this game in general. It's going to be awesome. But I digress; the dragon shout was weak. It felt a little un important, just like a battle shout. When a Nord screams, people hear it. It's a DRAGON shout though. Where's the bass? Where's the draconic influence? I was expecting some deep rumbling voice to come out of you when you did a Dragon Shout. This really needs to be the case.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all I found that needed work with the trailer. It looks amazing, I cannot WAIT, and I want to thank Bethesda for doing such an amazing job, and I want to thank them for giving us Skyrim. It's going to be a BLAST.
But, there is the part of "discussion" in a thread. What do you think? Do you agree with what I've said, do you disagree? What did YOU find that needed improving in the Skyrim Trailer? Keep in mind, this is not a bashing thread. This is an admiration thread, and a suggestion thread to further give Bethesda a grasp on what needs to be fixed with Skyrim before it launches. We have 8 months people. Lets make this the best game in the last decade.
