Let me ask you a question, and I'm not being sarcastic. I really wanna know. Is English your first language? If I'm confused it's because I don't understand what you're trying to say.

I get it; he's making fun of dreugh, reminding us Vivec used them against his enemies, and he's making fun of men who sire children with moose.

Indeed there are:

There are several other continents besides Tamriel, though most of which we know nothing about.

On a side note, I can more or less understand him, though the moose part seemed a little random to me. But then again, I have no sense of humor to speak of

Of course, most the information we are basing our replies on comes from a pretty unreliable source. Everything in Mysterious Akavir must be taken with a grain of salt.

It's fairly shaky but it's the best information we have.

Remember there were actually Tsaeci in Tamriel for a long time, some of them as a ruling family. We know the descriptions of their bodies and culture can at least be partially verified. As for the rest...

There were once Dragons and Men on Akavir but they were eaten by the Tsaeci.

I always read 'eaten' as 'assimilated' whenever the Tsaesci are discussed. To illustrate the point about Mysterious Akavir: the very next sentence after saying that the Tsaesci tried to eat all of the dragons it says that "they managed to enslave the Red Dragons, but the black ones had fled to Po Tun." I also remember reading somewhere that they used those Red Dragons as war mounts, which I think makes far more sense than simply eating them.

That's one interpretation, and since a lot of the Imperial Legion and Fighters Guild techniques were passed down from the Tsaeci, and the Battlemages sometimes use drakes as war mounts.

BUT...there's the http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/tsaesci.shtml. Apparently they are QUITE fond of eating things which give them power.

This part of the lore may be rooted in certain real world superstitions from all over the world - ancient rites which sometimes included cannibalism, where tribal warriors believed that eating the remains of a fallen foe, either beast or human, transferred the powers or even the soul of that foe into the warrior. This mythos is even hinted at during a scene in the anime classic Princess Mononoke, wherein a tribe of sentient apes wishes to consume the flesh of a man to consume the power of man and fight deforestation.

This being ES Lore there is bound to be a reason that they are called Immortal Vampire Snakemen :foodndrink: And considering the way that Alchemy works eating things to gain power from them (most especially in Morrowind) is the way things are done. So eat is probably literal. Heh - Dagoth Ur - his sleepers and coprus meat!!!

I have few doubt that the Devs had the "mysterious East" in mind when designing Akavir - that is to say, the perceptions people on Earth had of places like China when contact was limited and we didn't understand their history. We filled in the gaps and made it seem more fantastical than it really was. So maybe Akavir is more like a romanticized vision of the Far East.

most of the information known on akavir comes from Mysterious Akavir, and that is disputed since it was translated by a dragon-tiger-jabathehut

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do remember somewhere in the game ESIV Oblivion that mentioned the Nerevarine had gone to Akavir during the Oblivion invasion. I wonder why...?

I would really like to see the Devs flesh out more Akaviri lore and fill in alot of 2nd Era lore, not necessarily because the Nerevarine went over to Akavir but ESIII Morrowind did intrige my curiosity went it comes to reincarnated heros slaying demi gods. I would like more of the same only set in Akavir but it would be a on the spot story line and not the fleshed out prophecy of old that made ESIII awesome.

So I go to play ESIII again with more mods than you could shake a stick at; all lore conscientious mods of course.
