[RELz] The Amusemant Park of Cyrodiil

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:41 pm

Quick update,

All attractions in the expansion park are completely finished except voicing acting.

There are two carnival games:

1. Slaughter the Slaughterfish: A chance game with a twist. It costs 50 gold. You enter an enclosed pond filled with slaughterfish. Your job is to pick one of the fish and kill it. There is a 25% chance that you will get 100 gold. After killing one, you are teleported out, and then you can either try again or enjoy your 100 gold. Oh, and don't underestimate the slaughterfish! They are leveled and are able to dish out quite a punishment.

2. Stomper's Mirror Maze: A wierd maze filled with mirrors and other wierd things. (Note: the mirrors aren't real; they just look like mirrors). There is just a bunch of wierd stuff in there. Don't ask me what the point is, cuz there is none. I just decided to build it after Princess Stomper kindly suggested it. Honestly.

So, remaining things:

1. Add generic NPCs

2. Voice acting

3. Redo Haunted Mansion

And some minor tweaks...

Hang in there!

Ok, so quick update for today.

As you know, I have decided to create lines for the rides in the park. Some of these lines will have actual NPCs waiting in them. You can push past the waiting NPCs, but roleplayers can choose to wait behind them. As mass numbers of people are not possible, each waiting NPC will represent 1hr (gametime) worth of people. Some rides will have one NPC, some rides will have two or three. It depends on the popularity, length, and time of day.

Also, I have started on the interiors, am 50% done with the voice acting, and have nearly completed the renovated Haunted Mansion of Skingrad.

Only thing i haven't really done are the stalls and generic NPCs.

Finally, look for this mod to be release either next Friday, or two Fridays from this date. Or, if your lucky, I can get the mod out Sunday or this coming week. Who knows?

Thanks,

Kroot

Thank you Fluffy!

Okay, so now it comes down to this.

I'm hoping I can get a release by tommorow, but the prospects of that are growing thin. However, if I don't get it out, then it will either come out on April 2 or April 9.

April 9th will be the latest for this mod. It will be available first on TES Nexus, and then hopefully on PES.

This will be the last official release for the park. I may or may not welcome other additions to the park, such as rides, games, or attractions.

Anyway thanks, and I'll hopefully have good news soon.

Edit: Btw...anyone know of a silver tile in a modding resource or in game? I really don't want to add a whole new texture to teh game.

I always use the bottoms of the Ordered coffins in Shivering Isles (I just flip them up and sink them into the wall). What did you use in the end?

Oh I just took a tile and retextured it using a glass texture from Oblivion. It still doesn't reflect, but it kinda looks like a mirror. Kinda.

Ok guys, coming down to the end.

Everything is done but the following:

1. Two or three Generic NPCs.

2. Vendor Stalls

3. Two of the shop interiors (These can be easily done)

4. Haunted Mansion of Skingrad (Touch up work and cluttering)

5. Moving the portal to the Abeccan Sea

6. Touch up work and minor tweaks (I.e. one or two glitches)

Which means the release will be postponed to either April 2 or April 9.

In other news, I have decided to re-add the theatre, but it will simply be converted back into a chapel with an altar.

The "line" system is a smashing success. For those of you who don't know, I have added short waiting lines to each ride so roleplayers have a chance to "wait" in line for rides. Since hundreds of NPCs are impossible, each line is only one or two people long. Each person represents an hours worth of people.

Some rides will have one hour waits, some will have two. Some will even have zero. It all depends on the time of day, and the popularity of the ride. So try to avoid going to rides at busy times, like opening hours. Try lunchtime or dinnertime, when there will be minimal to no wait times.

Now, don't freak out if you hate waiting. You can just walk by the people waiting in line. But, its nice to roleplay sometimes.

Thanks,

Kroot

Edit: By hour, I meant hour gametime. Just to clarify. :)
