The Anarchic Route

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:09 am

I've been playing a character that intends to completely destroy civilisation. I've destroyed the NCR bases, killed Caesar, wiped out the Boomers, wrecked Primm, killed Mr House, and it seems that in order to proceed further, to break into the BOS bunker, I have to join forces with Yes Man.

Now, I've done that before, and there was still some semblence of order, so I'm wondering how I can just wipe everybody out, without joining Yes Man. Will I be able to go to the final battle without meeting Yes Man?

It looks like he might have to take over Vegas, even in a weak capacity, just to finish the game.

There is no way to go to the final battle without following one of the four endgame paths.

And what you're talking about isn't anarchy. It's mental illness. Let's not confuse the two.

Is it mental illness if I eat what I kill? Its just survival, and cleaning up after myself. If all the oppressive factions are gone, we can truly have peace.

Well then, if I have to help Yes Man, I'm going to gimp his control so badly, there won't be a Vegas to take over.

If your idea of peace is to kill everyone (seriously, you wipe out the Boomers and wreck Primm), yes it is mental illness.

Cannibalism is only survival when it's a last resort.

So what if it is mental illness? I don't see why haemophilac sociopaths shoudln't be allowed to be the hero too. Anything less would be discrimination. I was just wondering how the wasteland would cope without any governments or leaders. Clearly I need to make a choice just to get to the endgame, but Yes man is going to have his work cut out for him if he wants to keep control.

Yes Man isn't keeping control, he's empowering the player to take control. Though usually the good karma end is that the player leaves it independent while the PC goes wandering. Yes Man simply serves as a peacekeeping force. How other karma ends effect this is unknown to me.

There's nothing wrong with mental illness plays. I just find the ANARCHY EQUALS TOTAL CHAOS AND MURDER DEATH KILL to be utterly asinine.

Yes Man acts as though his software upgrade is going to make him less likely to serve me. Well, If I must take control, I shall be the most mediocre ruler ever!

Oh don't worry, I know what Anarchy is, I just thought it would make a catchy title. Though wikipedia provides one definition as "Absence of government; a state of lawlessness due to the absence or inefficiency of the supreme power; political disorder."

It will only affect the ending in your imagination.
The game totally does not care about your actions except killed faction leaders and the side you took (YesMan, NCR, Caesar or #r.House)

And whether you activated the bots at The Fort or not. Not? Anarchy. Yes? No anarchy.

Or maybe you could just play the game and decide for yourself???

Really, from what I've seen, the only way for there to be anarchy is to completely ignore the civilizations that Yes Man tells you to explore a bit (plus asking Jackson to be sherrif of Primm), and, of course, upgrading the securitrons.

Anarchy in Fallout is just playing the game and not giving a crap about the bots. So, in terms of speaking, killing everyone who proceeds even slight order in the Mojave.

If you elect to blow the army under the fort, and ally with Yes man then you'll be a weak leader of vegas, which is the closest I think you can do.

yeah man LOL kill 'em all!

Leave no body standing, no life breathing... just burn it all to the ground and go back to the East Coast. I hear the water there is pretty nice!

Screw vegas... what has it ever done for you except get you shot in the head? Muahahahahaha!

You want total anarchy and destruction?

C4 all the importent people such as Caeser and House and finally The NCR president and then detonate as you stand on the Dam Roof. You may not see the massive explosions happening in different parts of the game world but you certainly made sure that Anarchy will reign supreme.

(Although I'm not sure if C4's work if you leave different areas)

Killing everyone would be a very boring ending though I must admit...
