Where are the eyes that looked so mild,

Hurroo Hurroo

Where are the legs with which you run,

Hurroo Hurroo

You hadn't an arm, you hadn't a leg,

Hurroo Hurroo

When first you went to carry a gun
Indeed your dancing days are done
Steven I hardly knew ya

Oh by the way DISCLAIMERSo I don't get sued
I don't own fallout or any music lyrics I twist.

CHAPTER 18: Toxicity

"How much longer?" Steven said impatiently. He was worried about the alerted guards and was now standing mainly on one foot and biteing his lip.

"Not long, the security system is suprisingly weak. I guess they weren't expecting anyone intrested in more than just looting to break in.
The bunker door slid up just enough for them to crawl under.
It was dark inside and it was obvious how worried Steven was.

They couldn't see anything in the room without the nightvision mask that only Benji carried. So he handcuffed them together with a chain at least four feet long.
Finding that the main room was mostley empty, they quickly found a hall way with another security door and guard blocking them.
Benji quickly switched off the nightvision so the guard wouldn't see the light.
He slid across the wall slowly so the guard's flashlight wouldn't fall on him.
Geir, when close enough, stabed him in the ear with the knife he kept up his sleeve. Benji frowned slightly.

Looking closely at the door panel Benji turned and said, "Its a retinal scanner."
He looked slightly sick, he knew what was coming.
Geir took back over and removed the guard's eye and held it to the scanner.

"Isn't this approach a littile.... forward?" Benji said but was ignored by Steven and Geir.

Steven went forward saying, "The poisons are just in this room."

"After you put the vials in, the mutation will start so we have to get out quickly." Steven went on as the door opened.

"But it might be a bit.....", the door opened to reveal a room full of guards and researchers.

The next three seconds that past seemed to take as long as a minute.
It was as though their sudden appearance was to awkward to comprehend.
Then Steven dove side ways and rolled to cover shooting as he went.
Seeing as the other guards where beginning to shoot back blindly and causing more of their own casualties, Benji pressed himself back against the retinal scanner.
In doing so he realized he was still holding the eye and dropped it in disgust.

"Aww I was going to use that." Geir said sadly.

"What the hell for?" Benji said as bullet bounced off the door frame and into the hallway.

Benji breathed deeply and threw himself from behind the door frame and threw a throwing knife and a vial in the general direction of the people with guns.
The vial luckily hit a guard in the face and as every bacterium on his face began to mutate he screamed and whipped around wildly, spraying bullets into his ranks.
This gave Benji enough time to get to one of the glowing vats.
He tossed a vial to Steven who was having to crouch behind something on the floor seeing as he couldn't go far from Benji due to the chain which was still connected.
A random bullet hit the chain at a good time for Steven to move to a vat.
They counted down and simultaneously injected the vials.
At first it seemed as though nothing was happening. But then a small brown blob appeared which began spreading like roots.

Benji stared in amazement. "Nothing that mutates that quickly can be stable....." he thought and realized people where still shooting.
The glass vat exploded in front of Benji and Steven. The root like material quickly began spreading through the room like very fast vines.

One of the guards screamed the name Alpha and all remaining guards began throwing incendiary grenades at it to littile effect.
Steven ran to Benji and the two of them ran back through the door they came in and quickly made their way back to the first bunker door and slid under as it closed.
Then the room behind them began exploding.

"Huh. did we plant any bombs?" Benji asked when they where safely catching their breath.

"No, where did that explosion come from?" Steven said confused.

"What explosion?" Geir said.

They looked up to see that every guard had gathered around the burning facility.
The guards looked at them confused.
Then the guards realized that they where unemployed, disgruntled, still where holding guns, and the reasons they where unemployed where standing in front of them.

One guard fired grenade from his rifle which hit Benji in the side of the head knocking him to the ground.
Through blurry vision, he saw Steven raise his hands to his arms to his face and began running back wards.
Before he could even turn all the way, however, the bullet volley began.
Steven fell back wards onto the ground. He had taken at least twenty bullets in random areas on him.
The guards moved closer, believing he was dead.
Steven looked up and managed to turn enough to pull his rifle out from under his leg.
He raised it to the guards and pulled the trigger.
When nothing happened he ejected the clip and threw it at a guard who stumbled.
Just before the guards could fire again he grabbed Benji's knife and raised it to throw at the guards.
The guards opened fire and he threw with the last of his life.
From Benji's point of view. He saw more red holes appear across his arm which then slowly fell to the now burning ground.
Then Benji faded into blackness.

What Benji didn't see though is when his knife spun in a way that it caught a pin in a guard's grenade and pulled it with it.
The explosion killed all of the guards except one who lost a large portion of his body including an arm and both legs.
It was the first knife throw to kill nine and a half people.
Steven lived just long enough to witness this.

Note: Is there anything anyone wants out of this? Comment, I have alot planned but I can add things.

Benji awoke to a purple light in his eyes.
He heard a distant generic voice say something about door handles and then what sounded like a door splintering from it's hinges.
Then he heard something about why there where so few of races like hispanics anymore.
He then realized all of the voices sounded similar with the same slight english accent.

"What are you doing?" He heard a voice from someone standing right in front of him.

"Scanning his eyes for filth..... filthy filth." A voice near his head said.

"Well stop it, he destroyed one of our smaller production facilities and now hes siting in front of us. This is awkward enough." The voice in front of him said.

The black light rod was pulled away from his eyes and he saw that he was in a dark room with someone who resembled a serial killer in front of him.
Strangely, he wasn't strapped to the chair he was sitting in.

"......what?" Was Benji could utter.

Another person seemed to be mumbling in the corner and writing on the walls.

"You where able to destroy the facility without being hindered by death, so instead of extracting why you did it we are going to send you to do something we can't." The surprisingly young looking person in front of him explained.

"What? That sounded so....... simple." Benji said, no less confused.

"No I just explained it simply." He went on.

"You where able to find us so we want you to track down and capture one of us."

Benji, seeing as this was much better than death, said, "Um ok....... where is he and what does he look like."

The serial killer like person hesitated and looked to someone behind him.
The one who had the black light in his eyes crawled strangely over to him and handed him several stacks of paper.
Benji stared, gaping, at the two of them. Other than the fact that the other one was wearing a hazmat suit, they where exact replicas.

"Last we heard he was headed to DC. And well, he looks like us."

"To make sure you do it, however, we are sending a sentinel with you."

"He has the trigger to that shock collar, and by the way, you killed his cousin."

This entire explanation was confusing for Benji seeing as both of them took turns explaining.

CHAPTER 19: Doppelganger

"What does this shinney thing do?" Ort said loudly and pushed one of the ship controls so hard that it jammed.

Blaire sighed and said, "The emergency coolant function."

Regahn stole Milo's rifle and began shot at Ort in a blistering rage.
The bullet hit a panel next to Orts head and Ort began to laugh at the sparks.

Blaire looked at it sadly and said, " And that was the hatch control."
At this point Milo wasn't sure if really wanted to hold Regahn back.

The two ships hand began fighting very close to them so seeing their chance, when Ort began to walk by Milo kicked him in the stomach off of the ship where he was impaled by a sharp rock.

"No! He might survive!" Regahn yelled and pulled up a floor panel where he had apparently been hiding frag grenades.
Then a piece of shrapnel landed in between Regahn's fingers.

"Oh, right." Regahn said and jumped into the pilot's chair.

As the parts of the militia ship began exploding they lifted off close enough to for Milo's end of the ship to have a hole burned through it.
(For Jonathan)

"Damn it! Not again." Milo said and was thrown against a wall as the ship lurched from impact.

They looked out to see that a hook had caught the rear jet of the plane and was now holding them in place.
Regahn tied a few rubber bands together and wrapped them around the controls so the ship would continue to go forwards in full speed.
He quickly pulled the wires with no node out and wrapped one around his waste.
He then picked up a potato and climbed through the hole in Milo's room with the wires and the potato.

He was thrown back by the force of the wind and couldn't move his arms well.
Slowly, he connected the circuits with the potato and climbed the wire to where he could put the hook through the potato.
The hook began to heat up and melt off of the ship.
When he got back to the control room everyone was still holding onto the sides of the ship seeing as it was now spiraling forwards.

Milo looked up, with mixed emotions and said, "How do you do things like that?"

"Things like what?" Regahn said, only partly paying attention to him.

Riley looked over the purple horizon and said to Milo, “Bleh, that means there was another unusual thing again last night.”

Milo continued to stare blankly and said, “We have to get him to the surgeon as soon as possible.”

“You haven’t been making any sense ever since that weird dream with the explosions.” Riley said and continued eating references which where skewered on a pencil in front of him.

Blaire looked over his shoulder and said, “It looks bad.”

Regahn, who seemed to be waltzing in a corner a stepping on much of the English language, said, “He looks happier though.”

“You guys are talking way less than usual.” He said as he watched their bodies burn.

RETPAHC -20: Afflictions

Riley walked away from them again. He had grown tired of watching them march up and down his plane and singing unintelligibly.

“Finally!” He screamed when he saw a mushroom.
He swooped down upon it a put it on a plate that had materialized on the table of the shack he had wandered into.

He sat on a table and materialized a fork.
Riley#2 then swung over the table on a grappling hook and stole the mushroom off the fork just before it got to Riley’s mouth.

“Gah! Damn it!” Riley said and began shooting at Riley#2 with two sawed-offs he had also found on the ground conveniently.

Riley#2’s grappling hook wire snapped expectedly and he was thrown into the wall of the shack which collapsed revealing a swirling bluish portal.
Riley#2’s eyes and nose where svcked from his face by the force of it while the rest of him remained still.

Riley jumped from the table, grabbing at the mushroom which bounced off of his fingers and into the portal.

“Not again.” Riley said, watching Riley#2 stumbling around confused.

A frag grenade a several birthday balloons ejected from the portal then.
Riley ignored the grenade and began attempting to catch the balloons.
Riley#2 turned, blindly, and caught the grenade in his mouth.

The grenade exploded causing him to then flail about with no head.
Some of his cerebral cord was still showing which Riley began poking in different areas to see which body functions he could manipulate.

He got bored of this and tripped Riley#2 as he ran by.
He flew face first into the portal.

Riley giggled a littlie to him self and then thought, “What the hell.” And propelled himself into the portal, still holding a balloon.
**********
Milo stood up and said, “The sooner we get away from here, the better.”

The others agreed and began lifting the parts of the plane which had been crash landed into the outskirts of DC.

Riley’s eyes shot open again and he screamed, “Death to the heretics!” And rolled off of the stretcher, falling back into unconsciousness.

Note: The tedious plane bit is over.

"What the hell was that for?" Benji said, squirming in the collar.

"I don't like your face." The sentinel said and pressed the button again.

The first clone stopped her from pressing it again and said, "We need him alive."

She smiled and said, "Just testing it out."

Chapter 20: Looking glass

Milo and blaire both held up opposite ends of the stretcher and carried it out of the hole in the wrecked plane.
Regahn remained inside, attempting to gather supplies.

"He looks bad," Blaire said worried, "How far is this surgeon of yours?"

Milo took out a compass with one hand and said, "about four miles in.... that direction...... thing....."

Blaire, still staring at him, said, "So why did you let me live?"

He, without paying much attention, said, "So you could lead me to the people who have been following me."

Several bullets flew next to their faces then and they almost dropped Riley.
They ducked behind a piece of the plane which was sticking horizontally out of the ground.

Regahn looked out through a small hole in the plane to see around six super mutants.

"They look kind of like the assassin only a littile more human and less huge." Blaine said.

"What assassin?"

A missile hit the side of the plane and caused the hole the others went out of to be blocked off.

"What are those?!" Blaire yelled to Milo over the gunfire.

"Super mutants!" Milo yelled back.
They had no way of firing back and too many dents had begun to appear in their metal shield with defining banging sounds.

Milo hear several barks and a super mutant scream.
The gun fire slowly began to stop hitting the metal shard but was still happening.
Milo looked over the edge just enough to see a dog biteing a super mutant in the crotch.

The mutant behind him confusedly began shoot at the dog, who was blocked by the super mutant.
As a result, the dog was unharmed and all of the bullets either went into the super mutant's legs or the dirt.

Seeing a chance, Milo limped out from the cover with Blaire following closely behind.
They came up to the first one and Milo buried a a sharp piece of the plane in his neck.
He quickly took the mutant's hunting rifle and shot the one that was farther away and paying attention to the dog.
Two turned to Milo and Blaire jumped on one's back and slit it's throat with her wrist blade.
The other raised his gun to Milo and Blaire shot the gun out of his hand with the dead mutant's gun.
He attempted to swing at her but she quickly slit his wrist, seeing as she didn't have a chance to [censored] the hunting rifle.
They turned to see that the last one was having his face bitten by the dog.

Their relief turned to dismay as they saw the super mutant's pin less grenade roll twords the plane which was already on the edge of a nuclear crater.
Milo lunged at the grenade but was blown back as it exploded, tilting the plane over the edge.
*************

Regahn looked down to see that he was standing on a convenient hole in the floor.
He threw the bags full of scavenged materials and stepped in as the plane began to fall over the edge and off of him.
Just as it cleared away from him, a large piece of metal hit him in the head.
He slowly fell back wards and began falling over the edge.
The dog grabbed him by his foot and pulled him back to safety.
He looked up dazed at the dog who was happily licking him in the face.
He hugged the dog and for the first time that he knew of, he laughed.

Blaire walked over to them and said, "Where did he come from?"

Milo stumbled up wards behind her and said, "I think my eyes are bleeding."

"I like him." Regahn said, hugging the dog.

"I can't smell anymore." Milo said, still barley conscious.

"Well what should we name him?" Blaire asked.

" I smell burning hair." Milo said and fell back down.

Regahn started scratching his neck and came across what was once a collar as the dog started pawing the ground with his back leg.
The scrap of paper, which Leroy had used as a tag years ago, read "DOG MEAT"

"Yep thats definitely blood." Milo said.

Ok, I just got quite literaly the worst news I have gotten in my life.
I'll try not let it get in the way of the chapter writing but when there is a drop in the number of them for a while, thats why. Its actualy similar to why I put off writing anything for a while about a mounth ago.
Good news, though, is that now Jonathan (Merlin) will have internet now, which is probabl a huge relief to everyone on the forums lhl.

By the way, lhl is german for lol (laughing out loud translates to Last heraus lachen)

The Anomaly Of Regahn: Benjamin

"Because I can't sleep well." Benji said and turned the radio off.

"Worried about tomarrow?" Steven asked, drowsely.
He had neglected to come more than two inches out of his sleeping bag, seening as moving too much would cause it to roll off the table and onto the rubble covered floor.

"No, we've trained enough. Its just..... When I'm in dark places I hear screams echoing in my head and I don't know why."

Steven looked at him oddly and said, "Isn't that something you would want to mention before we sneak into a dark base at night?"

"I can ignore it well enough, but I just can't sleep in the dark." Benji said and walked outside with a lantern.
He hated staying inside for too long.

"Still, isn't that something you should have mentioned to the cordinator?" Steven called after him, worried about both of them.

"I don't really like talking about it for some reason." Benji said.
He thought back to the man who had approached him.
He had been thinking about him alot.

The man hadn't been..... right.
The way he moved and spoke seemed so confused. As if it where unfamiliar to him.
The way he had just randomly "found" him and given him the contract.
The way he had run off as the raiders inconvieniently attacked before Benji got much information.
As though it where a garuntie he would contact them about the contract.

"At least try to get a littile sleep, we have to stop an army of namless henchmen from creating a virus tomarrow." Steven called.

Geir awoke and said, "Too much noise, why am I the only one that isn't noctournal?"

"Geir have you ever wondered about the screams?" Benji said to him.

"Meh, your just insane. I mean look, theres someone living in your head." He said smiling.
He then attempted to hang himself to induce sleep.

Note: As promised.

Regahn's Journal 4/18/78

We ran into a feral ghoul in armour today. Milo called it a Reaver.
I think they might have been carrying plasma grenades, which would explain the strange mutation and why they showed up recently.
We tried to sneak around it but the wind patterns changed and it got our scent.
It threw some kind of unstable core at us and in the confusion, it charged and aimed for Milo first.
Milo had the 50 cal. rifle so that might have been why.
But from what I've heard of ghouls they are insane from radiation.
The way it moved, however, suggested otherwise.

CHAPTER 21: Walkway

"I think I may have gangrene." Milo said looking at the bite marks in his arm from the reaver, sadly.

"Shut up Milo." Blaine said.
He had been looking through a map Blaire had made of the DC roads.
What none of them knew, though, is that she had made it using satellite images.

Blaine stepped in a hole and fell forwards onto the map which saved Regahn's face from the ground.
The map was mostly shredded, though.

He looked up to see someone with a fat man looking down at him.
You! All of you!

"Yep thats us." Regahn said.

"Um.... give me everything your selling- I mean carrying!" He said and stumbled a littile over a rock.

"Why?" Milo asked, while trying to piece the map back together.

"Because...... I have a gun.... a large one." He said confused.

"Its defective." Regahn said, fascinated.

"How?" He said, beginning to get nervous.

"Besides the fact that shooting it at close range would kill you and its not loaded?" Blaire said.

"And its broken." Regahn said, staring at a small fly.

"How did you-" He started to say.

"Mel? Is that you?" Milo said.

Everyone looked at him.

"Mel is my brother."

Note: Mel is from a random encounter on Fallout 3.

"One's got a weavel and the others got a frag.
One's in a hole, the others technically a hag.
With a redone nose and fake out face off,
the runtime lapse of a cranial song."
Blaine sang.

"What are you laughing about now Regahn?" Blaire said.

CHAPTER 22: Flash bulbs

"Turn over now please." The nameless man heard through the screen.
He couldn't see anything, however, there was a bright white light taking up the full screen.

Subject WDYTR had been led into the city as per the orders and memory issued to subject RM.
This way they could be dispatched and salvaged easily.

The computer next to him suddenly switched on and began beeping.
The nameless man felt something then. He wasn't used to these things because he was bred to just go along with the way things are.
He was surprised.

He slowly turned the screen on to see the message begin to be decrypted.
The illustrators had sent in new orders.
None of the others he knew of had been contacted by them.

The orders where to observe the mental conditioning strength furthermore.
As expected, the computer screen next to him switched on. The computer had the title of RM.

"He leaned into the microphone of the other computer and said, "Praying Mantis."
He watched as subject WDYTR leapt from the table and put his hand through the surgeon's throat.
*************

Pinkerton fell to the floor and began convulsively coughing up blood.
Regahn stood over him and began snapping Pinkerton's bones with his foot.
Milo stood in the corner of the room in a trance while Mel pushed him, yelling for him to do something.

The others rushed into the room and looked at Regahn, shocked.
Pinkerton was laying beneath him in an inhuman form, which was impossible to see for what it was.
Blaire gasped and vomited.

Milo stumbled and nearly fell over, "What-"

Regahn looked down at Pinkerton's mangled corpse as though seeing it for the first time.
He bent over and vomited, partially because he had just murdered someone he had just met and partially because he still had the surgical tools sticking out of the back of his neck from the operation to remove the chip.

Pinkerton's assistant was in the corner, quivering.
She leapt onto Regahn's back and gave him a sedative.
He looked over at her and then took out his note book.

"Intresting......" He said as he passed out.

Note: In case you didn't catch that, the nameless man used Milo's voice to send out a mental command which Regahn followed without realizing it. All will be explained.

Blaine laughed and said, "Wow, you have better programing than Killroy."

"Who's Killroy?" Regahn said.

Chapter 23: Domo arigoto

Benji felt that familiar jolt through his neck. He fell to his knees and hands.

"Sorry, my finger slipped." Ella said, smiling.

"You realize you need me alive, right?" Benji said, struggling to stand.

"Your not entirely dead yet." She said and kicked him back over.

"Ow, what the hell?" Benji said and forced himself up.

Stop being so British!"
**************

"What just happened?" Rain asked while strapping down Regahn.

"Are we supposed to know?" Mel said while attempting to pull a fork out of the bottom of his foot.

"You know I could have done this myself." Regahn said while staring at the ceiling.

"How could a human have done that?" Rain asked while sadly looking down at Pinkerton's corpse.

Milo looked over at her and asked, "Why where you with him? Last time I saw you, you where working for the brotherhood."

".....I'm his daughter."

"Well this is awkward." Regahn said.
Hearing that, she nearly put an empty seringe into him.

Blaine broke through the strap and caught her arm, "Its not like it was his fault."

Blaire stood up and said, "We don't really know whats wrong with him. Its probably something to do with him trying to take the chip out."

"If thats true then we need it out as soon as possible. And he probably shouldn't be awake this time, but we still don't have any heavy enough anesthetics." Rain explained and knocked Regahn out with a mallet.

Note: Ok, I submitted the picture of Milo and Regahn to deviantart and it was favorited before I got the message saying the submission was successful.

Riley looked at the bursting clouds, happily.
He was lying on a plane of burning grass which was wridled with STD crawlers.

"Will he be alright?" He heard Blaire ask.

Riley looked over and saw Blaire staring at him.
He grumbled and turned back.

Blaire had been Riley's friend for as long as he could remember.
As long as he could remember, however, was when he was six and falling through a large wooden door.
His vision blurring, he slowly stumbled towards a vault door as it began sliding open.

A tall man and Blaire walked out and looked at him.
The man said something to Blaire, holding her back.
Riley looked down at his hands to see blood, he felt himself begin falling over as he began to slip from consciousness,
Blaire slipped under her father's arm and caught Riley before he hit the ground.

CHAPTER 24: Renegade

"It looks like they crash landed almost on purpose." Benji said looking through the smashed controls of the plane.

"Why would they do that?" Ella asked, more looking for a reason to shock him than generally caring.

"I don't know yet." Benji said and lifted himself up into the compartment that Regahn slept in whenever he actually did decide to sleep.

He looked around and saw that from this hallowed out compartment he could crawl to or manipulate any part of the ship.
On the only side without several changed wires going across it, he saw that Regahn had cut through the metal wall and used it as a holding area.
He lifted up some of the metal and looked in amazement at things Regahn had created with scraps of debris he had found in the wasteland.
Including a silent gauss pistol, a radio transmitter, and a coffee maker.

Benji picked up the coffee maker and the gauss pistol.
He felt a familiar shock jolt through his body and he fell backwards and hit the floor painfully.
Ella picked up the gauss pistol and said, "No guns."

Benji struggled to his knees and picked up the coffee maker, which was surprisingly undamaged.
He glared at her as she walked off and felt random slight sympathy for her.

Note: The chapter names all have hidden messages.

"So how would you get money?" Mel asked and spilled tea on the map Milo was working on.

Milo sighed and said, "We don't need money in D.C., there are barley any human civilizations left. It’s different from Vegas."

"More dangerous too...." Milo added, crumbling up the map.

"I'm sure it can't that dangerous if there’s no civilization." Mel said and spilled hot tea on his exposed arm.
He walked off grumbling.

Milo threw the ball of hot, sticky paper at a door.
The door opened and Blair ducked under the ball of tea and mush, carrying Riley,
They heard Mel yelp from the room the paper ball went into which they all ignored.

CHAPTER 25: Entwine

"Just one slip from my finger and I can send the bastard falling over the edge of this unpleasantly narrow bridge to be shocked to death in the ocean below." Ella thought happily as she watched Benji walk slowly to the Rivet city security guard.

Benji stopped and stared.
The thought hadn’t occurred to him yet but he had never talked to someone in a completely innocent situation.
Even when he talked with Steven it was the day before they risked their lives.

"What about me?" Geir asked.

Benji ignored him and said to the guard, "Um hi....."

"Hey." The guard said and continued keeping watch.

Benji held his breath for a few minutes and finally blurted out, "I'm just here looking for someone and I promise not to cause any trouble!"

The guard jumped a little and said, "Oh, good for you."

Benji continued to stare, not sure if it was safe to move on.
The guard looked down and shuffled his feet a little.
Benji quickly kicked him in the crotch, stole his assault rifle, and held it at his head.

"Ok even I think your a little jumpy." Geir said.

The shock collar went off and Benji fell to the floor, gasping.

Ella picked him up by the neck, "Ignore him." She said to the confused guard.

"Kind of hard but um.... ok. I wasn't planning on having children anyway." The guard said, half jokingly.
He seemed to be used to this sort of thing.
**************

"How’s it going?" Milo asked, sticking his head over the screen of the operating area.

"Not well, it’s almost as though his cerebral chord grew around the chip it's self." Rain replied.

"How could something like that happen?" Milo asked, worried.

Rain paused and said, "I don't know..... but it seems that removing it would kill him."
Her entire life she had been trained by the brotherhood and herself to completely block off anything that might cloud her judgment or impair her working ability. That included personal feelings, but when she thought back to her father's mangled corpse her hands began to shake.

"Milo..... he’s too dangerous to be kept alive... we don't even know if it was the chip that caused him to....."
*************

The nameless man continued to franticly type out messages to the illustrators as he watched the subject's blurry screen.
From what he had recently seen they had put it onto a bed in an isolated room which was much too close to an escape point.
If they did destroy the subject then generations of lives would be wasted. But if it escaped......
He received a new message telling him to release partial restrictions on subject RM until he was told to reinstate the restrictions.

The nameless man did so immediately and thought about this.
This way RM could act completely of his own will but could still be repossessed at any time.
************

Milo silently crept into Regahn's holding room and walked to the stretcher.
He knew Regahn, he knew that there was something wrong with him.
But he wouldn't let her kill him.
Milo knew Rain was doing what she thought was best, and maybe saving Regahn wasn't the best thing to do but he wasn't going to let him die.

He unstrapped Regahn and tied a rope to the stretcher and to Dog Meat's new collar.
Dog Meat had refused to leave Regahn's side and seemed to understand when beings where hostile towards him or helping him.
He taped wheels to the bottom of the stretcher and as they moved to the door an explosion shook Rivet city.
************

"What the hell was that?!" Ella exclaimed to the guard she was questioning to find Regahn's whereabouts.

Benji saw his chance as an explosion threw him to the ground and her to a door.
He grabbed a random coffee table and swung it at her.
It shattered over her back, throwing her back to the floor.
She quickly pressed the control button to his collar.
His hands flew to his throat and he dropped the frying pan he had picked up.

He fell to his knees, clawing at the collar.
Geir looked up and forced his hand down on her foot.
She yelped and turned up the voltage.
Geir cried and fell to the floor on one hand.
Benji pulled out the grappling hook he had seen in Regahn's experiments.

He threw it at the control and successfully caused it to wrap around and be pulled from her hands.
A little blood oozed from beneath one of his finger nails which he ignored and ran off with the control.
************

The guard Benji had first talked with looked into the sky and saw what appeared to be some sort of alien ship hell bent on ripping Rivet city apart.

"Oh well." He said and walked a safe distance away from the city.
************

Benji opened a door which he saw led to drop off where the city had seemingly been cut through.
He saw a safe area of the ship which wasn't being blasted apart because it was detached.
Benji then thought back to Ella, and the way she would cry at night.
He cursed himself and ran back into the exploding city.

Benji ran through the burning hallway and dodged several falling pieces of roof and random objects being thrown around by the explosions.
He saw Ella and ducked as a can hurdled past his head.
Another explosion threw him forward to where he landed nearly on top of her.
He picked her up and decided to run back the way he came.

An explosion threw a door in front of them into a guard who was running from the explosions.
The door crushed the entire guard completely flat against the wall.
He didn't have time to wonder what could be that powerful but ran to the door leading to the drop off.
The door had come off of it's hinges and the ceiling was collapsing over it.
He ran and threw Ella under the falling ceiling.

She slid out the door and was propelled, still unconscious, off of the ship and into the water.
Benji smiled for a second and then remembered he was now trapped in a city that would be completely wasted in less than a minute.

Seeing no other option, he caught a flying wrench and began loosening the bolts of the melting floor.
A wall next to him glassed into molten metal and if he had looked over he could have seen the wasteland.
The floor panel shook off and he fell through.

The next level he fell into was the bottom one.
Thankfully the carpet was covering up a large hole in the floor.
With molten metal flying around him la snow flurry, Benji fell the last twenty feet into the water just inches in front of the remaining city being transformed into molten light.

Note: Happy birthday John Lennon.

Dog Meat, Milo, and Regahn where thrown into the water from the force of a giant piece of shrapnel colliding with Pinkerton's part of the ship.
Milo looked around in panic, he saw someone covered in hardened melted metal which was cooled by the water.
Milo pulled him out of the water and set him down on the ground. Dirt clung to his prematurely white hair which looked like it was cut once a year.
Milo continued to look for Regahn but found nothing.

CHAPTER 26: Lithium

Regahn woke slowly to water drops on his face.
He slowly looked around and saw that he was on a stretcher. The stretcher was moving over water though, this was new.
Painfully, he pulled his notebook from his coat pocket.
The last date was on the twentieth. He looked at his home made watch and saw that it was the twenty first.
Blaine laughed a little.

He looked in front of him for the first time and saw that Dog Meat was swimming towards shore. He looked back at the ocean and saw that there was nearly no other land that he could see.
He heard something else and looked back to Dog Meat and saw that he was also dragging a person whose nose was just above the water.

"What?" Regahn thought.

"Oh ya, when Dog Meat figured out people are after you and how far they could go he swam to what he apparently thinks is the safest place.... and its seems he’s brought you a present." Blaine explained.

"He might actually know more about this than me at this point." Blaine said, happily.

"How much do you know?" Regahn asked.

"I know everything you deny." Blaine said.
He always enjoyed watching Regahn squirm.

Dog Meat dragged Regahn and Ella to shore where Regahn could untie the rope around Dog Meat.
He searched her and found a Nambu pistol, an over shirt which he liked alot, and files on him.

He smiled and said, "Thank you very much, Dog Meat."
Dog meat licked his hand.

Note: Last Chapter was the point where the story branched off. I had to choose between Regahn and Milo sticking together and the others showing up later, Benji and Regahn escaping and having to stay together with Benji figuring out who Regahn is later, Rain and Regahn being stuck awkwardly together and the others being captured, and an infinite number of other ways the story could have changed. I can still do all of that later. In fact, I plan to.
One more thing, I made the torture scene with Ella non-graphic because I decided it was too easy to sympathize with her situation. I promise the next one will be more like Regahn.

"Well I know, I miss more than hit
With a face that was launched to sink
An' I seldom feel, the bright relief
It's been the Worst Day Since Yesterday"
-Flogging Molly

Chapter 27 Times they are a-changin

"I don't know anything, and if I did I wouldn't tell you." Ella said.

"How clichéd." Regahn said, "And ya," He held up the envelope containing the files, "You do."

"She can see the envelope with that blindfold on, ya know." Blaine said.

"I know, but it felt good." Regahn said to him.

"What?" Ella said.

Regahn and Blaine's voices mixed as they both said, "Nothing..."

"What can you do? I've trained myself to to not be phased by torture." Ella asked, desperately.

"Oh your god, stop with the clichés!"

"....what do you want me to say?" Ella asked.
So far this was the strangest abduction she had ever had.

"I want you to tell me who you where sent by. We've been over this." Regahn said annoyed.

"I'm probably not doing that." Ella said.

"So we're at an impass...." Regahn said, picking up a knife.
Ella heard this and started to quiver a little.

"Ever heard of non lethal forced persuasion?" Regahn asked, picking up a small chalk board.

Ella stopped quivering.
".....Ok seriously dude, what the [censored]?"

"I think shes laughing at you..... so am I." Blaine said.

Regahn bit his arm.
He put the chalk board next to her ear and began scraping it with the knife.
It made a sound so high pitched that if done a little harder, could pierce ear drums.
The sound also effected the distress nerves in the brain.
The resulting disaster was a horde of massive distress signals across her entire body.
Thankfully for her, he only did this once, if he had continued she would have quickly been driven mad.
**************

Benji turned over gasping, the night air burned his throat with toxins from a city that had just been lain to waste.
He coughed violently and some foreign black substance flew from his throat.
He rolled to his side and saw a young boy hiding under a piece of the city crying.

Benji attempted to get up and gasped as pain shot up his side.
He managed to push himself to his knees and beckon to him.

"Here.... girl." He said, not really knowing what he was doing.

"What?" Brian Wilkes asked.

"Oh boy! Um.... boy..... hi... boy?" Benji sputtered.
His vision went a little blurry and he fell back a little.

"Uh oh." Brian said looking at Benji's stomach.

"What?" Benji asked and looked down.
A large metal shard was protruding from it and he had been bleeding profusely for a long time.
He fell to his side and saw Brian run over to him as his eyes closed.

Note: I ended this chapter quickly because I didn't think it could be taken very seriously because of the interrogation dialog.

Note: Jonathan (Merlin 13) and I are going to be in Ace the zombie this weekend.

"Fine I'll tell you just don't do... that again! You cheap son of a [censored]!" Ella screamed at Regahn from the floor.

In one fluent motion Regahn crouched down next to Ella's face, touched her nose, and said, "Calm down, your brain is still convulsing. Its still back firring and right now you picking up anger, yet....."
He looked at the ceiling for what he realized was for some reason the first time since he had entered the cave.

"Despite all your rage, your still just a rat in a cage." He said and flicked the belts holding her arms together.

"If you don't get control you'll surely go insane..... or unpleasantly close." Regahn said, not really paying attention to her.

"Is that supposed to calm me down?!" Ella asked, not expecting a response.

"Do something or you'll lose your mind seems like a perfect incentive for doing anything.... in your case, anyway." Regahn said.

"Blaine? Whats wrong? Where are you?"

Regahn paused, he heard a faint squeal.
He twitched a moved his head over slightly.
A bullet flew through the area where his head just was and bounced off a wall at the end of the cave.
It hit ricocheted of another rock and flew through Ella's back.
CHAPTER 28: Faster than the death of justice

"We have to find him." Milo said.
They had all gathered back in Pinkerton's area of the city.

"Hes most likely dead." Rain said.
She had been attempting to heal the injured being pulled from the water.

"What about Dog Meat? He would never let anything happen to Regahn." Milo said, determined.

Blaire looked into the room from the stair case (there was no longer a door) and said, "I agree, Dog Meat saved Regahn's life. He smarter than he looks."

"Maybe, but I don't think a dog could-" Rain started but Milo cut her off.

"Well how about this: I'm going to find one of them." Milo said and started to walk out.

"Oh! Oh! I wanna go!" Mel called after Milo.

Milo looked back and said, "No, you'll be safer with Rain."

"I can take care of myself!" Mel said.

"Rain, don't let him come after me." Milo said to her.

"I would go too... if this weren't such a stupid idea!" Rain yelled at him.

"Your going to risk your life to find a murdering homicidal whose most likely dead!"

"Ow!" Her patient yelped when she accidentally cut him with a scalpel.

Riley looked over the railing down at them and said, "Who's that hanging from the gallow tree? His eyes are hollow but he looks like me. Who's that swinging from the gallow tree? It will be you and the devil without me." He chanted as he ran down the stairs to him.

"Um..... ya... that...." Milo said.

"Whoa, you can't go. Your recovering." Blaire said.
She had just come back up the stairs carrying another wounded.

"The water blimp remains grounded enough." Riley said to her.

"Ok, so its just me, Riley, and Blaire then?" Milo said looking at Rain.

"I never said-" Blaire started but Milo cut her off.

"Without any medical.... at all...." Milo went on.

"I really, really, really need to stay here...." Rain said.

She sighed and said, "Which is why I hate you."
Milo smiled.

Note: I made Echo because I needed someone that could actually oppose Regahn. Someone hiding in the dark who can strike without Regahn even remembering him.

Ella fell to the floor, bleeding.
Regahn didn't even notice, he had already pulled out his notebook and begun drawing diagrams.
He was amazed with the idea of an object that could kill ricocheting.

4/21/78 Regahn's Journal
He paused and added a side note on the corner of the page.
I heard that DC doesn't get much rain. I'm going to miss it.
The notebook was gone then. Shredded pages flew into Regahn's face as his thoughts shifted.

How did I not think of how to prevent that before now? I probably did but didn't have enough time to fix it and write it down at the same time.

What he didn't know was that he had. He thought of the problems with the notebook ever day. He had even fixed several of them but never had just enough time to write them down.

His entire life sense he had killed the man who had pretended to be his father was in pieces floating around the room.

CHAPTER 29: Puzzle Pieces Up In Flames

Regahn looked down at his watch and saw that everything that happened to him sense he had escaped the vault and everyone he had met would be gone in thirteen hours.
For once he almost felt like crying.
Then as he turned to the opening of the cave and saw the sniper his feelings turned to a mix between rage and sadness.
He ran two feet and tripped over Ella.
The sniper shot again and Regahn had just enough time to pick up the chalk board from the floor which he held at an angle that he calculated would ricochet the bullet back at the sniper.
The bullet hit the tree branch that the sniper was standing on. The branch shattered and he fell in to the water (the cave was on a cliff edge).
Regahn scrambled back up and moved over to Ella.

"......what happened?" Ella asked, weakly.
The bullet had penetrated an area very close to her heart and she had lost alot of blood.

"Slight mis-calculation." Regahn said, confused.
He had never been wrong before.

"I think I might die here Patrick." She said.

This is bad, shes hallucinating.

Regahn quickly reached into the back pack Milo had put on him while he was on the stretcher.
He pulled out a first aid box which was really full of things that Regahn had sterilized that he could use for medical treatment.
He covered his face with a gas mask so he wouldn't inhale anything and because he hated the smell of medical equipment.

"I miss you Patrick." She started saying.
Patrick had been her cousin who was killed in the base that was destroyed by Steven and Benji.

Regahn lined the entry point and exit point of the bullet with paper.
He put wheat into the paper and ,as expected, the weat began to turn a strange colour as it absorbed the toxins released by the bullet. It stopped the bleeding as well.

"You'll be alright, I just have to sow up the wounds." Regahn told her.
He then felt a gun at the back of his head.

Some how he had become so involved with helping Ella that he didn't hear the sniper sneak up behind him. Even if he did have unnaturally inhuman hearing.

"I get extra if I bring you in alive, so lets do this the easy way." He said and shot Regahn in both legs.
Regahn closed his eyes and attempted to force himself to ignore the pain.
He fell forward to the floor. the sniper put his knee down on Regahn's back and pulled his hands together and handcuffed him.

"And to dissuade you from doing anything that will get you killed," He pointed the gun at Ella's face, "By the way, I'm Echo."

Regahn pulled his head back and threw the needle he had taken off of the floor with his teeth.
The needle stuck into Echo's eye bellow the Pupil.
Before Echo could scream, Regahn head-butted him in the chest.
Echo fell backwards and before he could regain his balance, Regahn was up and sprinting at him.
Regahn kicked Echo in the eye that had a needle protruding from it, forcing the needle the rest of the way in.

"[censored]!" Echo screamed and he fell from the cave mouth.

Note: I'm now taking votes; should I kill Riley, Rain, or Milo? And if any of my two or three fans don't have profiles yet.... why not?

What makes you think it's gonna last
When everything you've ever done was to be past
Just think about our bodies in this place
And imagine us shooting through the space. -Chad Vangaalen

Chapter 30: You are not awake

Regahn looked at the embers shooting up into the infanet blackness to their doom.

"Like me....
Whats the point? What will I do after this? Just survive? Whats the point of that? Whats the point of even wondering this?"

"Are you alright?" Ella asked.

Regahn nearly jumped off of his dead tree log at the sound of her voice.
She had been sleeping on the make shift tent Regahn had made out of dead trees.
She had come out now and was leaning against the entrance to the tent.
This was almost the most normal place Regahn had ever "slept".
Other than the fact that it was actually a hole in the ground that Regahn had covered with dirt and held up the roof with sticks.

"I'm... um..... fine..." Regahn sputtered, no one had ever asked him that.

"You've been staring in the same direction for twenty minutes." Ella said.

"I seem to do that alot..." Regahn said, seeing no connectable logic.

"Thats kind of a bad connection..."

"Bit of a left at the traffic lights..." He said out loud on accident.

"Um.... ok..." Ella said.
She knew from his files that he was dangerously unstable.
Yet he was the sanest person she had ever met. He was being attacked by several forces he knew nothing about, but the only reason he didn't like humans was for their stupidity wich lead to the destruction of everything around them.
And here she was, tracking down this person she had never met until now and planning to give him to an army of psychopaths that would pay her if she did.
Looking at this creature, she began to doubt her own sanity.

She sat down next to him and said, "How much longer do you have?"
He stopped slashing at the sparks with a stick and stared at the watch for a moment and skewered a spark without looking.

"An hour." He said.

She looked at the ground and said, "I'll tell you everything if you want...."

"No. Whats the point?" He said and dropped the stick.

"Then why did you save me?" Ella asked.

He paused and finally said, "I... don't.... know."

He rolled off the log and looked at the dirt ceiling.
He looked back at his watch and then pulled the sticks out, collapsing the part of the dirt roof he was under.
He brushed most of the dirt from his eyes and looked up at the stars. And for once, his mind didn't explode with wonders of how the universe worked
Instead, he just thought of how beautiful it was.
Their campsite was no longer just another patch of dirt on the ground.
But for the first time, he didn't worry about the possibility of something seeing him.
He just thought of everything he had been through.

He looked at his watch and said, "Ten minutes left..."

"Well at least you've lasted longer than Fire Fly...." Ella said and laied down next to him.

5 minutes left

"I never really did any of that, I just read about myself doing that."

"Your alot like River." Ella said.
Like Regahn, she wasn't very good at making people feel better.

3

She looked over at him and saw that he was actually crying.

He hadn't realized it yet and he said, "This isn't what I expected to be doing with the last few minutes of my life."

"We can still find something else for you to write in..." Ella said, desperately.

"But the rest will be gone." Regahn said, staring up at the starts.

"Maybe not..." Ella said, not really believing herself.

1 minute

"I hope so.... story of my life." Regahn said quietly.

She leaned over him and kissed him.
"Thank you." She said but saw that he had fallen asleep.

So tell me about your mom
And how she cuts her hair
Does she like it short
Does she grow it out
Like seaweed

Because you are not awake
You are not awake
You're still asleep with the seaweed kelp

So tell me about your dad
And how he gets you high
Do you like him stoned out, yeah
Do you like him dried out like seaweed

Because you are not awake
You are not awake
You're still asleep with the seaweed kelp

I am a ghost on fire
White sheets aflame
Where is my heart
After the afterlife
Where it has it gone and stayed

So tell me about yourself
And how you like to dream about the ocean
Does it make you want to believe
In anything at all
Like me

Note: Me and Merlin 13 will be at the midnight release in athens, in case any of you live around there.

Note 2: And if any of you are worried, there still won't be any romance element in this. But more brutaly unexpected things.

CHAPTER 31:What happened in Vegas

"Milo, I just completed more of an anolysis on the diagram of the chip in Regahn......" Rain said coming up behind him.
They were to leave that night to look for Regahn and she knew that if she didn't go with them they might all die.

Milo turned from the chess game he was playing with Mel and Riley and said, "Really? Why has it been taking so long?"
They didn't have chess pieces so they had been using bent metal pieces that Mel had bought from a gun trader in the Rivet city market before it was destroyed.

"Because the technology is more advanced than anything I have ever seen. The only thing I've heard of being close to it was from.... my father... he once... he once found a small computer chip with a strange encryption which he said fell from the sky..." Rain attempted to say.

"From the sky....." Milo thought out loud.
He thought back to the alien ship that had attacked the plane that was trying to kill them. And the same ship which had destroyed Rivet City a week ago.

"All I could gather from it so far is that there are several parts that resemble the components of a camera and a microphone." Rain said.

Mel looked up and said, "Someone must be watching him!"
Everyone turned and looked at him surprised.

"You said the weird looking plane found you on your way here and saved you," Mel explained, "And it destroyed Rivet city but not the part that he was in."
Mel was happy with himself figuring something out the others hadn't.

"And just as that man was trying to take out the thing, he killed him for no reason. So something must want him alive and can make him do some things!" Mel went on.

"That’s all well and good but why would they destroy the city?" Rain asked.

"Maybe there was something there that they didn't want him to be around." Mel said, happily.

"But-" Rain started.

"He’s right." Riley said.
Nobody expected to hear his voice because he had been listening quietley the entire time. And if he says something that coherent then he must have his mind set on something.

"Why would he be in a vault in Vegas if he was born on the outside?" Riley said.

"I think that vault has the answer...." Riley went on with everyone hanging on his every word, waiting to see what he was planning.

"We're going home...."

"We're going back to Vegas."

Note: Still writing!

Benji awoke to see that all of his open wounds had been stitched closed and he was hooked up to what looked like a makeshift IV machine.
It was made out of a respiratory machine which had been filled antibiotics and had the end of the tube replaced with a syringe.
He tried to lift his head felt a throbbing pain in the side of his head.
He brushed the side of his head checking for wounds and was expecting to feel long, matted hair. He cut his hair once every year whenever it got so long that it began to get in the way.
Other than that he didn't really see the point in cutting it. Instead he felt that it had been almost completely shaved off on one side and was now beginning to grow out again.
He looked up and saw Bryan Wilks siting at a computer desk.

Bryan turned around and said, "Your awake!" He looked surprised.

Before he could ask if Bryan had done all of this himself, he heard a strange inhuman scream.
He looked over and saw that there were sand bags blocking off the tunnel the where in.

"What was-" He started and then remembered seeing the hospital.
He had looked through computer connections to see which ones had been reported silent and found that there where a few areas that had been reported with disturbances in a line to DC.
The hospital was the one he had been able to look up Regahn's alias on.
When he and Ella finally got to the hospital they found that it was over run with what looked like a new form of feral ghouls.
Only instead of radiation, it was some kind of spore which hosted dead material so that it could spread it's species through close contact with other dead.

"If something like that could make it DC....." He thought, "DC is the deadest place in the world right now other than Asia and London."
London had been over run by ghouls and some kind of Flying creatures.

"Can they get in?" Benji said and threw himself off of the table after falling back from a searing pain.

"If they really wanted too." Bryan said, "Thats ok though."
He pressed a rock on the floor and three shot gun blasts hit the sand bags with devastating a down right frightening force.
He looked proud of himself until he looked over and saw that several of the sand bags where leaking.
Even though they where meant to stop bullets they begin to rot after two hundred and one years.
What was worse was that many things down the tunnel had heard the blast and where coming to investigate.

CHAPTER 32: Mass Genocide

Benji took two steps forward and fell forward.
He looked up through decreasing vision and saw what he feared.
A spore ridden zombie put it's head over the sand bags and made the sound of someone dieing as it began to scramble it's way over the sand bags with others behind it.

Benji leapt from the floor and picked up Bryan just as the undead rolled down the sand bags into the room.
Bryan was siting next to the sand bags the entire time and was now on the floor trying to squirm out from under the toppled chair.
The zombie reared up and flew at Bryan.
Benji jumped in between them and pulled the chair off of Bryan.
He swung it at the zombie who's head was then thrown across the room.

"Oh thats pleasant, their rotting." Benji thought as he picked up Bryan and turned to see that the rest of the tunnel was barred off.

"I planned for this too, the escape hole!" Bryan yelled pointing at a hatch on the ground.

Benji glanced back and ducked as a zombie swung at him.
He ran at the hatch and jumped, straightening his body.
He landed and toppled over from extreme force of impact and from the fact that people in his situation would have been in the hospital for weeks.
Bryan flew from his arms and rolled across the floor between two zombies.
Benji looked up and saw that he was surrounded by zombies who were just beginning to notice him.
And there were still zombies trying to scramble into the hole.
One of them knocked over the table he had been lying on which had been a kitchen table with a long metal pipe for a leg.
The pipe fell through the hole and Benji crawled twords it quickly.

He grabbed it off of the ground and screamed, "Run, Bryan!"

He saw Bryan hesitate and then begin running to the light at the end of the tunnel.
A zombie hurdled twords Benji as his vision blurred painfully again. He regained some of his balance and hit it in the side of the head with the pipe and it's neck twisted and it fell to the ground.
He put the bar through another zombie's neck and simultaneously brought it up under a zombie's chin.
He twist the bar up and the one zombie's head came off.

They had started to catch up to Bryan.
Benji saw blood hit the ground and felt his face. He saw that his nose was bleeding.
He stomped on a zombie's neck and jammed the bar into one's eye.
He looked around to see that there was an army enclosing him.

Bryan stumbled over a rock and was nearly into the light as a zombie scratched him in the back.
Benji coughed blood and ,with a throbbing headache, threw the pole over all of the zombies.
The pole impaled the zombie behind Bryan just in time for him to leap out of the tunnel.

He kicked a zombie in the stomach and sent it sprawling onto it's back.
It gave him just enough time to notice that there was a rusted metal rod protruding from the ceiling that could be used as a handle.
He tried to jump and catch it but just managed to fall to the floor.
He coughed up more blood and managed to get up to his hands and knees.
The zombies where now a few feet from him.

He heard something hit the ground in front of him.
He looked up and saw that Regahn's hook had been pushed by a zombie through the hole.

Bryan had put everything Benji had on him on the computer desk.
Most of it was now scattered around the room with the sandbags.

He painfully picked up the hook and quickly swung it upwards.
It caught the bar and he used the wire to pull himself up to it just as the zombies swarmed under him.
He lifted his legs up above the zombies.
His fingers where beginning to bleed as well as many of his stitches.

He hung on, wishing that he could have had time to at least put on his shirt.
The zombies hissed and reached upwards at him.

"It would be so easy just to let go...." Benji thought.
But the thought of the zombies tearing him apart and then himself becoming one of them was too horrifying to him.
Then again, the zombies themselves where horrifying to him.

Geir woke up and drowsily said, "What did I miss?"

He looked around at all of the zombies and said, "Can't I leave you alone for a second?"

"Hey I was doing fine on my own!" Benji said and kicked at zombie's hand.

"Your hanging from a metal bar surrounded by zombies." Geir said.

Benji hesitated and saw a slight opening in the horde.

"If you can make that I'll stop making fun of your accent for a week." Geir said.

Benji swung himself and dropped down inbetween two zombies and quickly cut the legs closest to him off giving him enough time to kick over the last zombie in his way as the rest of them fell.
Benji ran twords the light while swinging at the zombies behind him with the hook.
Geir took over and jumped from the tube and rolled onto the ground. The tube was alot higher off of the ground than he expected.
For some reason when Geir was out, it hurt less and he bleed less.

He stood up, shakily, and began running from the zombies.
Benji didn't see Bryan anywhere.

Note: Both of the "Halloween specials" that I posted are parodies which are centered around the two main characters. The first one was a parody of 28 days later and this one is a parody of pretty much everything Steven King ever did. I've read all of his books, see if you can catch all of the references.

"Bella, could you drink this?"Regahn asked
He was pointing with a long malnourished finger at a tube, with his face in another book.

"Its Ella... and I don't feel safe with you saying that while you’re reading another chemistry book." She said walking over to the table.

"Oh it should be perfectly safe... which is why I'm testing it on you... then again it wouldn't need testing..... I should stop saying things like that out loud."
Regahn said out loud.

"What’s the point? You won't be able to remember any of-" She stopped herself quickly.

"I've got it covered." Regahn said.

"Hmm interesting phrase."
He hit the ground in a crouch and began picking through the duffel bag that Dog Meat was holding in his teeth.
He eventually found the piece of page he had kept for himself to find.
Ella looked at him sadly. But he surprised her by quickly getting up.
Regahn then crawled out of the dirt hole and began smelling the air.

"What are you doing?" She asked looking up at him.

"I am going to find something else to document everything with." Regahn said and scampered away.

CHAPTER 33: Needless Things

Regahn lifted the shattered stick off of the ground and looked at the small, mutated creatures crawling through the holes in the ground in a straight line like a river.
He smiled and lifted a creature similar to a rolly polly onto his fingers.
The creature crawled across his fingers and underneath his hand.
He watched it crawl upside down for a while but quickly caught a new scent in the air.

It smelled similar to burning flesh and charred metal.
He put the creature safely back into the hole and looked out in the direction the smell was coming from.
A large smoke trail was penetrating the clouds about a third of a mile away from him.
He checked for traps and hiding places for snipers while moving through darkened areas of the forest as not to be seen.

The wreckage was hard to see through the dead trees.
Limbs stretched out in front of him like hands trying to rip him apart with their sharp, black claws.
He finally made it through all of them with only a few cuts across his arms and face.
In a way seeing the wreckage uncoiled something deep inside of him.
The car had slammed into a tree, crushing what appeared to be a scavenger.

He heard a sound come from the back of the car.
He slowly made his way to the back of the car and saw that there was someone seeming to be trying to repair the car's exhaust pipe.
The person didn't seem to care that the car had crushed someone but seemed obsessed with getting the tires out of the mud.
Before Regahn could decide if he should let the person know he was there, a strange sound came from under the car and the person pushed himself feet first under it to see what was wrong.
A second later the person shot back out from under the car and screamed.
Then, like a flash of a bad memory, he was gone. svcked back under the car.
Regahn stood there, observing all of this very confused but not really paying much attention to any of it.

He was about to walk away when a bit too much blood spewed out from under the car like a fountain.
Regahn hated being covered in someone else's blood because he didn't like where it had been and walked to the front of the car to see if the person had been carrying any alcohol wipes.

He looked into the driver's seat and saw that the driver's head had cracked open on the dashboard.
Regahn pulled the corpse out and deposited on the ground.
He hesitated and looked back at the person for a moment.
Reghan then took off the driver's jacket and put it on after taking his wallet.
**************

Ella sat down next to Dog Meat and started petting him again.
She wondered how long it should be before she started worrying about Regahn.

"I guess when you start to worry." She said to Dog Meat, while scratching inside his ear like she had seen Regahn do.
Dog Meat seemed to like this especially.

She looked up and saw that a dense fog had began to descend, yet it still hadn't rained.

".....oh.....kay." She thought and pulled the tarp that was still at the campsite, over her and Dog Meat.
As she started to pull the rest of the water vulnerable equipment under the tarp she heard a loud screech like something being surprised by a shark biting into them.

"What the [censored] now?" She thought irritated.
She hadn't gotten a rest from the weird things that happened around Regahn.

She looked out from under the tarp and saw a creature fly at her face.
It was small and looked like the face of someone very old who smoked too much.
She grumbled and pulled a stick out of a duffel bag.
She held the stick up to the sick thing which was impaled quickly.

Dog Meat began growling and backed under the tarp.
Ella groaned again pulled one of Regahn's hand made grenades out of his "work bench".
The workbench was really just an ironing board that had been melted down enough to fit into a duffel bag and had shelf attached to the bottom.
She thought about it and put the grenade back.
Instead she took out a sawed off which had been picked up on the way to the campsite.

She hadn't expected the tentacles, however.
Several tentacles which looked strangely similar to that of an octopus flew through the mist at her and wrapped around her legs.

"[censored] it [censored] off!" She screamed, even more irritated now.
Strangley she was more annoyed rather than surprised or afraid.
*************

Regahn walked around to the back of the house he had found at random.
He had already checked for traps and had decided that going through the window was the beast thing to do.
The window ledge had splintered and looked like it wasn't well kept.
He peered over the edge and into the house.
There weren't any visible traps or anything slightly out of place.

That’s why he was suspicious.
He set the EMF detector he had made next to the window.
The readings weren't very abnormal even though most of the world had been nuked.

He dropped a large rock through the window.
The floor boards buckled destructively beneath the force of the heavy rock.
As he expected, underneath the floor boards where several now-revealed bodies of humans and ghouls.
The bodies had sections cut from them as though from a kitchen knife.

Regahn moved around to a window in a different room and slid it open quickly as he saw a shadow creep down the hallway and into the room to investigate the sound.
He pushed himself through the window and silently let himself down onto the floor.
He could hear hordes of rats under the floorboards getting at the bodies.
The floor was even vibrating slightly as he snuck into the first room.
The person in front of him was shaking violently.

"How long has she been living off of human meat?"

Regahn put his fingers in the shape of a gun and pushed them to the back of the person's head.

"Don't move." Regahn said.

"Another damn cliché."

The woman made a muffled sound.
Regahn peered over her shoulder and saw that her hands had been duct taped to the crowbar she was holding and her mouth had been duct taped as well.
Regahn moved to the front of her and took the duct tape from her mouth.
She pointed with her eyes towards a large wardrobe in the hallway.

Regahn opened the wardrobe and saw a man inside with a shotgun who was shaking possibly more violently than the woman was.
Regahn moved to the side and quickly took the shotgun from him.
He pointed it at the man who quickly put his hands to his face.
The man made a muffled scream.

Regahn said, "I know." and threw the shotgun to the floor.
He turned and caught the woman's crowbar before it plunged into his skull.

Regahn stepped on her foot, giving him enough time to push her back.
She attempted to charge at him but stopped when she saw the Nambu.
Regahn had flicked his wrist which had given the drawer slider enough force to slide the pistol along his arm and out of his sleeve in position with his finger on the trigger.

Regahn kicked the shotgun that wasn't loaded across the room and started to cut through the strings that had been sowed through the man's skin and the back of the wardrobe.
Regahn gave the man a bottle of water to loosen the super glue that had held his mouth shut so that someone less observative would think that he was the cannibal.
*************

Ella sat in the campsite surrounded by pieces of tentacles and dead annoying flying creatures.
Dog Meat got up and started wagging his tail.
Regahn looked into the pit of dirt and smiled seeing that she had dumped the experiment on something resembling a land squid.
The land squid had burned as though it had been touched by acid.

She groaned and asked, "Did you at least find a new notebook?"

"A what?" Regahn said.
