The Anomaly Of Regahn

Note: Nazis are over used in almost everything, thats why I'm giving them a new viewpoint. And honestley, who expected Nazis in Fallout?

"Come sit right here and sleep while I slip poison in your ear
We are waiting on a telegram to give us news of the fall
I am sorry to report dear Paris is burning after all
We have taken to the streets in open rejoice revolting
We are dancing a black waltz fair paris is burning after all."
-St. Vincent

Yavon didn't want to see the black boots in front of him.
He wasn't sure how long he could hide in plain sight.
His eyes slowly moved up tp the man's face.
But what was said next surprised him.

"You can read can't you?" The corporal asked.

Yavon hesitated and said, "...yes."
He recognised the corpral now.
Yavon had been avoiding the corporal in the food market yesterday.
He had read the instructions for a shampoo bottle to a child who had found it and asked him about it.
As soon as he had finished the corporal and another Nazi had led the child away.

"Read this." He said bluntly, handing Yavon a scrap of paper and a Mutfruit.

"....Johnson, Murry." Yavon read, starting from the top.

"No, start in the S section." He said and put his finger to a section of names on the list.

"Sanze, Vlad... deceased... Svelrech, Henry.... wounded..... Shyriech, Asherich-" Yavon went on, realiseing this was a casualtie report.

"Thats the one, what does it say after that?" The corpral asked.
It was diffucult for Yavon to make out what came next.

"Fata- Fataley wounded: Cod.... Code Orange." Yavon said.
The Nazi quickly turned from him and began walking swiftly away.

He stopped and turned slightly saying, "Thank you."

"I will brook no threat to or from this world!" The voice roared over the loud speaker.
The poor or those not of the Aryan where left to starve in the streets while those on the other side of the gate prospered while their machines fought off the incoming doom.
New Vegas was the root of the Nationalsozialismus even before the invasion.

CHAPTER: 34 Paris is burning

Riley groaned as he cut his fingers, once again, on the twisted metal he was running the cable through. He was repairing an old pre-war bomber.
Unfortunately for him, it wasn't like the transported he knew how to fly.
He wasn't entirely sure why he was here with the rest of them trying to uncover Regahn's past.
Other than he was interested, he had nothing better to do, and Blaire was here too.
Blaire had always been his friend for as long as he could remember.
Ever sense they had found him and returned him to his father who then explained that Riley and he had been attacked by a Deathclaw.
Riley's father explained that Riley had fallen from a cliff edge when the Deathclaw attacked which would have been the cause of the memory loss.
Now that he thought about it, most of his life was spent lost from his father.
For him, this was just another one of his adventures.

"So how are we doing?" Riley heard from underneath the bomber.
Riley attempted to jump up and hit his head on the plane.
He looked out and saw Riley#2 standing over him.

"Oh, you again." Riley said pushed the stretcher he was laying on back under the plane.

Riley#2 slid next to him on his own stretcher and said, "But I miss you! It feels like we've grown so far apart!"

"Thats because I've been ignoring you." Riley said, welding parts of the metal back together.

"You know what you need?" Riley#2 said to him.

"I need to get this plane fixed and go back to New Vegas where I can possibly find my father." Riley replied.

"You need chocolate."

"What?" Riley asked, becoming more and more convinced he should begin ignoring him again.

"Chocolate makes everything better." Riley#3 said, peering underneath the plane.
***************

Milo stared, confused, at Riley who seemed to being yelling at himself while repairing the plane.

"Longing of horse pair!" Riley yelled at nothing.

He didn't seem to have noticed Milo yet.
Milo partially wanted to stay here and look for Regahn. But he didn't know how well that would work out.
He had even come to DC to escape those who where after him.
But this way, he might be able to find Regahn and take the fight to the cultists.

"What about Mel, though?" He thought looking back at Mel and Blaire.
****************

"Can't beat my- can't read my- no he can't beat my limey rage! I don't wanna be a frenchy!" Mel thought to himself while watching Blaire take parts to Riley.
****************

"What the hell am I going to do?" Blaire thought.
****************

"What the hell am I doing here?" Benji thought as he looked over the rock he was hiding behind.
He could see Regahn trying to take something out of his hand while Ella was sleeping.
He was just about to approach them when he felt a gun at the back of his head.
***************

"Someone's going to die here and its not going to be me." Echo thought.

The Anomaly Of Regahn: Ella

Note: Ok, I'll do most art requests but "Benji/Regahn/Milo Yaoi" no. Even if it is followed by a highly unpleasant chorus of "PWEASE!"

"She did what?" Blaine said suddenly.

"What is it? And where have you been?" Regahn asked, confused.

Blaine hesitated and started laughing out loud.
Ella jumped up from where she was sitting and looked at Blaine, now rolling on his back from side to side.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Yes what is it?" Regahn asked, taking back over and sitting back up.

"What?" Ella said, not really knowing if she should expect an answer.

"Some thing that wasn't a dog or some sea dwelling abomination actually kissed you?" Blaine said through hysterical laughter.

"What?!" Regahn yelled back at him.

"You... remember?" Ella asked.

"What?!" Regahn asked again.
He felt himself convulse violently and fell to the ground, vomiting.

"Wow, thanks." Ella said as she watched Blaine laugh while Regahn continued to vomit.

"What's-" She then noticed that her shoe was on fire because she had been standing on the campfire a little.
Regahn quickly pulled a bottle of bleach from his backpack and threw the top off.
***************

Benji watched the following chaos ensue which would have been a little funny if someone wasn't holding him at gun point.

Note: Cannibals are fun.

"The past month has been hell for our new millennium. The Parasites of the city of demons have fortified themselves well at the cost of the world.
They are a parasite which will ultimately play a part in the destruction of the world while they live safely and frivolously. For the Aryan world to return to us, we must first rid it of the parasites."
The voice over the loud speaker continued.

CHAPTER 35: Tanzen Sie und ertrinken Sie

"It was only on the forehead!" Ella said, trying to stop Regahn from getting to the the bottle of bleach which was now in the fire.

"But why the hell would you want to do that?!" Regahn asked loudly.

"Well because you saved me." Ella said while wrapping her burnt foot in gauze.

"How does that factor in with human contact?" Regahn asked, now even more confused.

"Um...." She thought about that for a second.

"Wow," Regahn said, "You are insane."

Before Ella could say anything more a large hole appeared in her throat.
Then Regahn heard a loud bang as he saw her fall forwards into the fire.
Regahn heard a familiar loud whistling sound.
He turned quickly and caught the tazer bolts before they plunged into his neck.
Unusually strong volts of electricity shot up Regahn's arms and through the rest of his body.
For once, Regahn began to fade from consciousness as he fell backwards.
Echo slid down into the hole from his hiding place, still holding Benji at gun point.

"Another success. Now I can deal with you without having to worry about anyone hearing." Echo said a little too calmly.
He had a strange habit of saying what he was thinking out loud.

Without looking, he pulled Benji to him by the arm and pressed the gun to the side of his head.
Geir took over as he pulled the trigger.
He ducked inhumanely fast as Benji kicked Echo in the crotch at the same time.
Benji grabbed Echo's hand while Geir bit into his side.
It wasn't rare for them them to both fight at the same time but it was rare for someone to manage to fight back.

Echo managed to push Benji away and kick him in the stomach at the same time.
Benji threw himself forward into Echo's stomach.
Echo hit the dirt wall and fell to the ground. He pulled an AK-47 from his back pack while trying to regain balance.
Benji quickly pulled a torch from the fire and swung it at Echo.
It hit Echo in the side of the head and knocked him over.
The helmet Echo had been wearing flew from his head.
He shot wildly from the AK-47, being sure not to hit Regahn.

Benji looked over to Regahn and Ella.
He turned back to see that Echo was pulling himself up and still was firing off from the AK-47.
Benji leaped up and grabbed onto the edge of the dirt pit and clawed his way out before he was hit.
He began running.

"Geir? Are you alright?" Benji asked, realizing he hadn't come out once after he was kicked in the kidney.

Geir took over and fell to his knees. He convulsed violently and threw up blood.
**************

"He won't be able to follow us." Echo thought back to Benji crawling from the pit.

"But... how could he have found them? Unless hes one of the best trackers in the world."

He dismissed these thoughts and pushed Regahn's casket into the Vertibird.
Echo kept everyone he was supposed to track down in caskets.
He moved to the front of the Vertibird and typed in his success signature in Morse code to London where he was to take them.
**************

Benji listened to the code with a stethoscope he had bought from the boat Operator who had given him the ride to Point Lookout.
Apparently they where going back to London.
That was a long way to go, and he wasn't in a very comfortable position underneath the steal plates in the floor.

Note: Huh. So in a week I'll be homeless. When did that happen?

"Why is it that every plane I scavenge ends up being shot down?!" Riley yelled over explosions.

A shell hit the side of the plane and sent Milo and Blaire into the wall.
Milo pulled himself up and dragged Blaire into the front of the plane.
He quickly sealed the door behind him so nothing would be svcked out through the newly formed, gaping hole in the plane.

"I mean, its not like their easy to find!" Riley continued to rant while trying to safely land the plane in a lake that was roughly 200 feet away.

"How could they have something accurate enough to do that- and I can walk, you know!" Blaire yelled and attempted to stand.

Her leg buckled and she said, "Gah! Never mind!"

"Now I know how the Mongolians felt!" Riley yelled, more annoyed with his luck than with the shrapnel flying uncomfortable close to his face.

"And who would just shoot anyone flying by?" Blaire yelled.

"Does nobody care we're about to crash!?" Milo screamed at both of them.

Oh, shut up Mi-" Riley and Blaire started to shout but was cut off by the plane crashing into the lake.

CHAPTER 36: Until you run out of cake

"Hes bringing him there for me... maybe I can just let him take Regahn in and they won't send anyone after me. With Ella gone I'm not in any danger." Benji thought back to Rivet city, "Poor Ella. She didn't deserve to go out like that..." He continued to think to himself.

"Now do you see why we can't just kill everyone we see?" Benji asked Geir.

"Why not?" Geir said.
He had been sleeping again.

"Because... she hated me because I killed her cousin. Everyone we kill effects someone else in some way."

Geir paused and said, "So more of a reason to kill everyone we see."

"What?" Benji said, as if he expected anything else.

"If everyone is dead, no one will be sad about everyone being dead." Geir said and started to go back to sleep.

"Or if no one is dead then no one will be sad about anyone being dead!" Benji said.

"Well they'll all die eventually. Therefore, they'll be sad about dieing eventually. I just speed up the process." Geir said, half awake.

"I think they would prefer to live for as long as possible.... you have really [censored] up morals." Benji started to say but was cut off by the sound of a siren going off below the Vertibird.

"Vertibirds aren't for long distance travel! What the hell is wrong with this guy?" Benji said, annoyed.

Geir woke up again and said, "That sure means something coming from the guy who hears screams when he closes his eyes."
Benji's arms had been aching for hours but he was only able to move once or twice a day when Echo was asleep.
He felt the Vertibird shake violently and land.
****************

"[Censored]!" Echo screamed as bullets bounced off of the Plexiglas windshield of the Vertibird as he set it down.
Echo leapt from his seat and hit the floor.
He reached underneath his chair and slid out a lazer sighted Assault Rifle and shotgun.

He pushed the side window open and held the shotgun out of the window.
Three dark shapes moved from behind one wall to the next while a sniper shell hit just next to Echo's exposed hand.
It was dark but for some reason several parts of London where on fire so he could make out a little of what they where doing.
He was in a very small court yard and from what he could tell they had split up into two teams with a sniper covering their movements from a house that he would move through the levels of as to not be tracked.
It was all so... organised. Echo had never seen anything like it.

He saw one's head looking out from a low wall in front of him.
As a reflex he shot and killed him instantly. At the same time he was shooting at the windows in the house with the Rifle.
The other team then shot at the back of the Vertibird in an attempt to immobilize it.
Echo Shot at them with the shot gun and heard a loud groan as one bent over.
He heard a click from his Rifle and quickly pulled himself back in.
Throwing himself to the ground again, he pushed the Assault Rifle back under the chair and pulled out a plasma Rifle.

He heard a small click come from the back of the Vertibird.
When he turned he saw that seven of them seemed to be trying to get in.
He then realized that the few people in front and to the side of him where just distractions for the brunt of the force to flank him.

Echo slid the Plasma Rifle back underneath the chair and aimed the shotgun at the room with Regahn's casket.
It was strange that he hadn't heard any sound coming from the casket in the four-day trip to get to London. Not even when he slid food into the hole mail box at the side of the casket.
He saw two people run to the sides of the door on the opposite end of the room.
One kicked the door open just as someone else blew the side of the Vertibird open.

Echo shot down the two at the door with one shotgun blast while stepping on a small pressure pad on the floor.
A battle shotgun flew into the air from a small, pressurized compartment on the floor.
Echo caught the shotgun and shot the person lunging at him from the side of the Vertibird.
Three more rushed into the room.
Echo shot two of them with the two shotguns and they both hit the walls. The third one got a shot off.
Echo quickly ducked and shot at him. The blast hit him in the chest and he flew from the Vertibird.

Another one started to come in from the back of the Vertibird and was quickly shot down as four more rushed in behind him.
Echo quickly pulled the triggers and heard a click from one of the shotguns.
One of the soldiers fell from a the blast, giving Echo enough time to throw the empty shotgun at one of the others while he pulled an emergency lever that was originally intended to drop rebreathers from ceiling compartments.
Instead it dropped another shotgun, which Echo caught instantly.

The last three flooded the door way and got ready to fire on him.
Echo pointed both shotguns at them and felt a searing paint shoot through his leg.
He went down on one knee and looked over to see that the sniper had climbed all the way down the building and was now in view of him.
Echo pointed one of the shotguns at the sniper who quickly shot it out of his hand.
One of the soldiers in front of him kicked the other shot gun from his hand.
They aimed at him like a firing squad.
Echo quickly pushed the Regahn's casket out of the Vertibird so that he would still be able to collect the payment on him but wasn't expecting what he saw.
There was a clean-cut hole all the way through the floor in the shape of the casket and the casket's bottom had been completely removed.

"What.... the... [censored]?" Echo thought.

Before they could shoot Echo bit down on the detonator in his mouth.
He was thrown out of the Vertibird as the half the soldiers where standing on exploded.
******************

"That was unexpected!" Benji thought as he ducked underneath a bridge over a stream leading to a lake.

"It seems that guy you decided to attempt to help had already saved himself... very effectively." Geir said.

"Ya, but how did he cut all the way through the floor?" Benji asked.
He was having to stand on the small stone blocks underneath the bridge to ovoid the heavily irradiated water of London.

"With this." Blaine said, surfacing from underneath the water and scaring the hell out of Benji.
He was holding up what seemed to be a piece of the Vertibird floor Regahn had pried off and attached to several wires from inside the Vertibird in order to heat it up.
Apparently he had held onto it using part of the carpet on the Vertibird and slowly cut and melted through the floor with the floor it's self.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Benji whispered, "That water will kill you!"

"Psh, you sound like Regahn.... but probably for a different reason." Blaine said, struggling onto the small surface under the bridge.
*****************

"...Wow......" Edward said, staring at the molten wreckage of a Vertibird in front of him.

Note: No one ever said that there weren't Nazis attacking New Vegas in 2278.

CHAPTER 37: Ich kann sie sehen jede wo

"How can you not be dead? The water has been heavily irradiated ever since the war." Benji said.
The two of them where hiding out on top of a partly destroyed building. They could see the hordes of undead below them, toppling over each other because there where so many.

"Maybe it's not deadly." Regahn said, catching little spores in the air.

"Its a good thing that something with an immune system can fight those off easily. Their less deadly than a cold..." Benji went on to himself.

"So if they were somehow upgraded...." Regahn began to mumble.

"Apparently during the war, when the nukes where launched London was "accidentally" hit by both sides." Benji explained, "As though you would honestly miss with nukes..."

Regahn caught a spore between his teeth and said, "Well theres no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying until you run out of cake."

Benji grumbled a little and said, "London wasn't hit with nukes. They launched chemical weapons at us. Those who died in the explosion... just got back up and started ripping everyone else apart."

"How do you know?" Regahn asked.

Benji hesitated and held up a video camera he had apparently been keeping tied to his hand the entire time.
In the video, the person holding the camera was impaled by shrapnel which, surprisingly didn't hurt the camera.
Benji skipped through the video for what was apparently twenty minutes.
In the video, only the camera man's hand was in view. Lying dead on the floor of some building.
Then the fingers started curling as the fingernails began to grow out and twist.
The camera man stood up slowly and lurched out of the doorway and started off into the cloud of spores, seemingly aimlessly.
Then the camera, which was at his side and tied around his hand, turned with the camera man.
Now some one else was in view.
The woman seemed to be confused and started to walk a little closer to the camera man.
The camera's view blurred as the camera hit the ground.
Both the camera man and the woman where now in view as he flew at her, clawing her throat out.

"How has this survived for so long?" Blaine asked.

"This isn't the original camera. Whoever found this saved it to a computer and my father downloaded it from there." Benji explained.

"Wow, thats lucky. Regahn?" Blaine asked.

Regahn was too amazed to respond.
He had started writing in his own blood across his arm again.

Note: Sorry if these are a bit delayed. I'm moving soon.

"We can't hold out here much longer. All we have found in London are dead and undead! Its hard to Liberate the world of the leaches when our own allies are chewing on the back of your neck as soon as they are shot down!" The soldier said into the microphone.

The reply that came next was blunt but hopeful.
"The H?chste Energie acknowledged this and has already dispatched a full malitial force of androids. Await further orders."

"Good! Good. The H?chste will not leave us for the wolves." The soldier replied.
He turned from the microphone and sat down in a chair at the corner of the room.
It wasn't long before he began to doubt the use of London.
What would the use of a dead city be to the Rein in the end?
Before he could go on a bullet hole appeared in the side of his foot.
He attempted to scream but hands appeared over his mouth in a fraction of a second.
Benji walked in with a pistol trained steadily on him.

"Regahn, why are you doing that?" Benji asked, looking over the Nazi's shoulder.
Regahn let go of the soldier's mouth and held the soldier's hands together.

"I didn't want to hear him scream...."

"Well, we need to hear him talk." Benji said and pushed the gun into the soldier's stomach saying, "Who are you people? Why are you here?"

"Could you be anymore generic?" Regahn said.

"I don't answer to you, rat." The soldier said.

"Never mind..." Regahn said, growing tired of the whole situation.

"Whats with this popular idea that you shouldn't answer the person with a gun on you?" Benji said, annoyed.

"Kill me or release me, you'll get nothing from me." The soldier went on.

Before Geir could kill the soldier, Regahn said, "What if we gave you cake if you told us?"

The soldier hesitated and said, "Give me the cake first."

Benji looked at them both dumbfounded.
".....Seriously?"

"What? Even I like cake." Geir said.

CHAPTER 38: Die Portale verweigerten mir Kuchen

"I love you."

"I... I love you too... I've always loved you...."

Riley looked up through blurry vision at one of his least favorite things he had ever woken up to.
"Not now! I have to concentrate!" Riley yelled.
He pushed between Riley#2 and 3 and ran to the bomber hatch.
The entire bomber had landed upside down and was quickly taking in water.

Riley saw that water pressure was beginning to force several unpleasant dents in the small doors which where holding in their only source of oxygen.
He turned and waded through the waste-high water back to the cockpit of the bomber.
Milo was floating on his back, unconscious.
Riley looked around and saw that Blaire was nowhere in the plane and had probably been thrown out of it during the crash.

Riley pulled Milo to the hatch in the bomber and pulled it open.
Water flooded the plane, throwing Riley into a wall.
The sudden pressure change made Riley's head feel like it would implode at any second.
He didn't have time to wait for the pressure to equalize, Milo could already be dead.
He forced himself up through the hatch and started swimming upwards.

The water burned his eyes and felt like it was forcing him downwards.
There was near zero visibility so the only way Riley could tell that he was swimming upwards was from the feel of all the air in his body expanding dangerously.
Riley thought back to the first song he had ever heard. Thinking of music always seemed to help him in life threatening situations.
Even if Please Don't Leave Me seemed out of place while he was struggling against death to get to the surface of the seemingly endless water.
Riley closed his eyes and felt his hand explode from beneath the water surface.
He gasped, happily, and felt air fill his lungs.
This, however, was short lived.

The second he attempted to stand on the shore Riley felt his head throb with enough force to send him back to his knees.
He had pulled Milo half way onto the shore but was now suffering from the effects of rapid ascension even worse than before.
The entire sandy shore in front of him seemed to turn black and orange as another wave of pain hit his head and heart.
He felt his face begin to become unresponsive as the small bubbles of death moved through his heart and began clogging his arteries.
Riley's hand buckled and he felt the sand hit his face.
He had always hated sand.
******************

Milo coughed and vomited violently.
He looked up and saw Riley laying next to him.
Milo attempted to quickly get up but felt pain shoot up his side.
He fell back for a moment and then quickly pulled him self over Riley and quickly rolled him over onto his side.
Milo brushed the sand off of Riley's face and quickly checked his vitals.

Milo started pumping his chest and checking for blood pressure.
Slowly, Riley stopped breathing.

"This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead."

Note: Love, compassion, and all that other crap.

"What are you doing?" Benji asked from the corner of the cell.

Regahn caught another lightening bug and put it inside the small plastic ball he had been making.
There where about twelve of them so far.
He had been making them out of the plastic see- though trays that the guards would bring with their food.
"I'm making Christmas." Regahn replied.

Benji had watched him push the small pieces of the trays into a piece of the stone cell which he had carved into a circle.
He would have felt bad seeing Regahn strain for hours to pick apart the stone in a circle, if he weren't used to all of the strange things Regahn did in captivity.
He wouldn't have even gotten off the floor if his back wasn't starting to hurt because of the cold stone.

"Your... Christmas... what?" Benji said, walking over to him.

Regahn had been leaving the stone lined with plastic inside the steam vent (which was too small and hot for anyone to crawl through) and taking them out to let them harden.
"Christmas. That thing I read about one time. I haven't seen it made yet, so I'm making it." Regahn said, wrapping his hand in his shirt sleeve.

"But... what?" Benji asked, even more confused.

"Its this holiday that used to be celebrating harvest of people with bad teeth. Then some crappy religion found out about it and told everyone it was about their religion, so that the humans wouldn't pay as much attention to some other religion on the same day. I just like the lights and cold weather." Regahn explained while shoving his hand into the hot steam.

Benji decided that he didn't care enough and went to lye down on the cot.

"And in five days it will be Christmas..." Regahn went on.

CHAPTER 39: Christmas (and everything you know) is a lie

"If you think your a Nazi then why where you just speaking in English?" Benji said with the gun still trained on him.

"We prefer the term The Befreiung. And I'm not even German! We haven't returned yet." The Nazi explained, "We've been here and many places for longer than you where born. For longer than the pre-war governments."

"So far I haven't heard anything that makes you any different from the pre-war Red Army." Benji said.

The Nazi frowned and said, "That is because you are ignorant! And we aren't a pre-war thing of the past! We are infinite."

Several more of the Befreiung pushed through the doors and into the room, guns on Benji and Regahn.
The Nazi put up his hand, showing the distress transmitter on his ring finger disguised as a ring.
"Surprise."

Benji looked at Regahn, expecting him to do something.
Regahn put his hands up and smiled.

Blaire coughed and struggled through the door to the bomb compartment without letting much water in.
This was her chance to escape.
This way she wouldn't have to hand over Milo to her father. This way she could let someone else handle finding the experiment without her feeling like she betrayed anyone.
She pushed herself though the hole in the side of the plane after grabbing one of the three rebreathers in the water filled part of the plane.
The others would be alright. She was sure at least one of them would remember the rebreathers Regahn had made for all of them.
She made sure to stop every few feet to let the pressure equalize.
Looking back down at the plane she realized that she was leaving her only two real friends.

"Its for the best." She thought.
****************
Dogmeat wagged his tail happily as Bryan scratched him behind the ears.
"Good dog. Where is the person you where with, hmm?" Bryan cooed.

Dogmeat's ears drooped a little as he looked up at Bryan.
Dogmeat hadn't been able to find Regahn in the water.

"You sure made short work of that..." Bryan said, pointing at the headless zombie that had been chasing him before Dogmeat saw him.

"Would you like to come with me, boy?" Bryan asked.
Dogmeat barked happily.

Bryan climbed onto Dogmeat's back and said, "Woo! Mush!" Pointing in some random direction.
Dogmeat licked Bryan's hand.

Bryan laughed and said, "I think I'll call you... Rex!"
**************

"After all of that convincing me he sticks me with... him..." Rain thought as Mel flicked pieces of paper into a cup.
A piece of paper hit the side of her head while she was trying to count the number of times something of his had hit her.
She bared her teeth and drew another mark on the paper which was now full.

"This isn't exactly useful." She thought as she tacked it to her post board.

She paused then said, "Hey hell!"

"Mel? Mel is me..."

"Same thing, listen... we're kind of low on funding with the city being destroyed and all... so go find a job or something." Rain said.

"...Ok!" Mel said and rushed out the door.

"That will most likely take care of him for a while." Rain said and went back to studying the photo of the Alien ship.

SEASON 1 CONCLUSION: COMING OUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY

CHAPTER 40: Weeping Willow

"Okay, back in Vegas... now what?" Milo thought.
He was sitting in next to Riley's bed now. Riley had been in a coma ever since the rapid ascension.

"I wonder what he was planning. Sure we're here but where do we start?"
He had carried Riley to the Hoover Dam control center because it was the closest place with medical support.
It was obvious that he had overstayed his welcome but he couldn't just leave Riley. Riley had always been Blaire's friend and Milo didn't really know much about him.
He was a little worried about the skirmishes the NCR medic had mentioned. Apparently the NCR was new to the dam and had recently kicked the previous occupants out.

"Riley mentioned the Vault Regahn came from. I can start there... but how did he know about the Vault? I guess Blaire must have told him at some point..." Milo once again found himself thinking back to that night they had met Riley. Riley explained that he had found Regahn after the explosion and brought him to the medical pavilion. According to him the journal had fallen out Regahn's duffel bag and he had put it in his pocket in forgotten about it.
But Milo often wondered what it was that Riley had been doing out there or why hadn't he mentioned it before taking off. He usually dismissed these thoughts as himself not being able to accept luck.
He also didn't want to stop trusting Riley. He already didn't trust Blaire and he didn't want to start feeling backed into a corner.

But then, for the first time, he started thinking about how they had found Regahn. How had Regahn known where to find them? He had at first believed that the hospital was very luckily close to the leaving plane. But now that he thought about it, wouldn't they have at least seen the hospital along the way? And why did he find the Vault in the first place? Sure he had found the door leading into the ground with the mercenaries coming in and out, trying to find a way into the vault. But why had he stayed? Why did the place hold him there with so much interest until Regahn burst through the door.
Some how that train of thought led to the black outs he had been having. They were always short but Regahn always seemed to do random things afterwards. Random for Regahn even.
Like the one he had just before Regahn had killed Pinkerton. That was still unexplained and it wasn't like they could have ever just asked Regahn.
There were times when even he himself had felt unsafe around Regahn. Because Regahn's train of thought could lead him to decide that killing everyone in the room was the best thing to do at the time.
That led him to wonder why Regahn could remember his name. In many documented cases of people not able to form new memories some things, such as names, would become instinct to them. But with Regahn there was a little too much. Like how he remembered everyone's name even before he read through that journal that Milo had seen live through so much. Or how Regahn was more educated than any of them because he could remember things he read in books. Or how he seemed able to recognize things being dangerous or not dangerous.

"As though he was... glitching..." Milo thought.
He stood up from his chair quickly and began walking to the door.
Suddenly, he wanted to know what was inside that Vault very much.

He hesitated at the door and looked back at Riley.
"He'll be fine here for a while." He thought.

He turned back to the door to see a gun being held to his face at point blank range.
Suddenly he found himself thinking of something Regahn had told him once which summed up the way many humans seemed to think.
"Senseless, brutal violence is apparently ok as long as no one says (censored), (censored), or (censored)."

Note: Its Yule and I'm writing two chapters... I have no life.

CHAPTER 41: Legion Christmas

"Your a part of this establishment of rats, you burn like the rest." The Legionary behind Milo said and kicked him to the dusty ground.

Milo sighed and said. "(censored) this life."
He looked up to the gate that he and the three NCR troops they had managed to capture during their second failed attack that month.
Over the gate he saw something he hadn't expected. A large evergreen that looked as though it had been dragged a very long distance.
The tree was covered with candles and red things that he couldn't make out from this distance.

"Move." The Legionary said and pushed him forwards.

The large metal gate was pushed open and the prisoners where led inside.
Looking up at the tree now Milo saw that the red things seemed to be rotting hearts.
They where led past groaning men on crosses, one of which spat at them.
After what seemed to be forever they finally where led into a courtyard and chained down.

Another of the Legion stood in the center of the courtyard and announced, "Normally you would all be given numbers and nailed to a stick. But what none of you realize is that today is Christmas."

"Jew haters!" Someone in the distance shouted.

"So due to the mercy of our lord Caesar." The Legion continued, "You will all be given a chance to live."

He pointed to the tree and said, "If not, you will become part of the season."
A Legion dog sniffed a heart and tore it off the tree.

"You will all be given lottery tickets and the winner can make his way through the canyon as best he can."

The Legion smiled and said, "So let's begin!" As though it where a cheery moment.
Tickets where passed to the reluctant NCR.

"Come on, come on. We can't wait to see our prizes!" The Legion said, obviously mocking their impending doom.
A Legionare walked up to the first NCR and tried to take the ticket.
The ranger attempted to struggle and when the ticket was taken he tried to run.

"Oh don't be a bad sport now." The Legionary said and shot the NCR in the back of the leg.
The NCR screamed and was dragged back, kicking. He was forced to a cross and tied up.
He thrashed and two more Legion proceed to nail his limbs down.

The Legionary walked up to Milo, who was next in line.
"And what did this one get then?" The Legion said smiling.

"I don't care." Milo said standing up and tossing his ticket at the Legion.

"Psh, your not Romans." Milo said.

All the Legion and NCR had turned to look at him now.
"What?! We just nailed someone to a cross... doesn't that scare you? The Legionary said, surprised.

"At least it gets you out. And what exactly makes you Romans?" Milo asked.

"We... the cross..."

"The Romans kept people in cages and let birds peck them apart over the course of days. TheRomans buried people in ant hills with honey in their ears. The Romans held people in chains upside down for years without letting them die! Your not Romans. Your pathetic, and can (censored) off." Milo said.

The Legionary winced and said, "We are just like the Romans...! We had to keep a guy in a cage last week because he had an infection and... Caesar says-"

"It pronounced See-Sar! Oh your (censored) god! Say it (censored) right!" Milo yelled at him.
He had always kind of liked the Romans for their inventions but these Frat boys had ruined them.

"Um... can someone kill this person?" The Legionary asked, looking around and forgetting that he was holding a gun.
Milo had begun shouting curses at Caesar's "palace" loud enough for him to hear.

A Legion picked up the lottery ticket and said, "We can't... uh... he won."

"I guess you can go now..." The Legionary said.

"Maybe if you stopped (censored) your own cousins a long time ago then you could spell your own- what?" Milo said in the middle of shouting.

"You won, you can go."

"Good! I don't want to be around you morons another second!" Milo said, walking off.

"And they used stone!" He shouted as he stormed past the metal gates.
Fortunately for the NCR, his rant had given them enough time to escape unnoticed.
Most of the Legion felt too weird to look for them anyway.

"So... should we light the tree?" A Legion asked.

"Ah, ya go ahead... awe..." The Legionary replied, perplexed.

Just so nobody's disappointed after the long wait: I personally think the last chapter was crap but I had to put in something to tell what was happening to Milo. And there will be one last chapter on Regahn and Benji's side of the story hopefully tomorrow. Sorry its a little delayed but I'm trying to end the first season well without it being just another chapter (like its done in South Park).

Note: Last chapter I was really just trying to get it done quickly.

"Ronnald, I talked to your teacher... shes very upset so I would like to hear the story from you." Alice said to the boy sitting on the metal rafter.

"He deserved it." The boy said, attempting to balance on the rafter with one hand.

"How could he deserve that?" Alice asked.

"He's a [censored]." The little boy that was now standing on the rafter with one hand said.

"What?" Alice said, shocked.

The boy sighed and sat down on the rafter.
"A little radroach found a way into the tumor-"

"Why do you call your classroom that, again?" Alice asked.

"Why do you call it a classroom when it's much more like a growing cancer tumor?" The boy asked.

When Alice didn't respond he said, "And all the little cells started squealing-"

"Cells? I haven't heard that one before." Alice started.

"The cells are what spread the cancer." The boy replied.

"I think they prefer the term children." Alice said.

The boy ignored this and went on, "The [censored]-cell-"

"Ron!" Alice said.

"You talk alot for someone who asked something." The boy said.

"I-... well..." Alice said for the third time that day.

"It-"

"He." Alice cut in instantly.

"Alice!"

"Why do you never call me mom?"

He groaned and continued, "It started kicking the radroach. So I hit it with a desk-"

"A what?"

The boy ignored her and continued, "And held it down as I broke it's legs in three places each."

"...Ron!" Alice started, not entirley sure how she should handel this.

"Then the stim cell-"

"Stim-... Ron!"

"Yes thats me. Anyway, that one started screaming and calling me a monster as though it was the only insult she knew." The boy said.
Alice picked him up off of the rafter; her emotions switching from anger to sadness.

"Oh Ron your not a monster... child limbs are very fragile, they snap like twigs..." Alice sputtered, trying to comfort him.

"I know... Their the monsters." Regahn said.

CHAPTER 43: Loved

Regahn opened his eyes as he heard Big Ben toll twelve o clock.
"Ok, what am I doing?"
He looked down at the small plastic ball he was holding and saw that there where words scratched into it.

"Fragile. DO NOT BREAK NEAR YOURSELF OR ALLIES. Look under the bed ------->"

He looked in the direction of the arrow and stood up from where he had been crouching.
Benji was lying on the bed asleep.
Regahn picked up the bed, throwing Benji onto the floor.

"Wha-? Kill...!" Benji mumbled, confused.

"Damn it Regahn...." Benji mumbled and walked to the cell bars.
He looked through the bars and saw that the usual five guards had been replaced by only two.

"Huh I wonder why they do that." Benji said to Geir.

"Mph." Geir grunted. In Benji's mind Geir was building a rock castel.

"God, I am so bored! The least they could do is give us good food! Or dental! Perhaps we should eat Re-" Geir started but was cut off by something none of them expected.

"Oh it'll be alright, at least your face is still intact." They heard followed by a long line of unpleasant laughter.

"....Geir did you hear that?" Benji asked.

"Unfortunately." Geir replied, in painful shock.

All of this was cut off by the deafening explosion of the wall next to them.
"What the hell are those idiots doing?" Regahn thought as he and Benji where thrown to the floor.

Regahn quickly got up and felt his head pounding from the force of the explosion.
He saw the guards where starting to regain their balance and look around confused.
A massive hole had opened up in the wall now.
One of the Guards started shooting at the lock on the cell when he saw what had happened.
Regahn pulled Benji over his shoulder and saw that he was unconscious.
Like always, he could hear the air impressions the bullets speeding twords him made.
He ducked as four shot over his head and ran through the hole in the wall with Benji slung over his shoulder.

What he saw as he lunged into the night air, however, made his stomach turn violently.
Below him was miles of black water.
Blanie took over has they hit the dark water and sunk below the surface a little.

"Benji won't last in the water long... not that I care." Blaine said.
Just then something lifted up under Blaine's feet and brought him up over the water.

"Yes! A... submarine?" Regahn said, "I didn't know they had a submarine... brilliant!"

The hatch behind him opened to reveal a stereotypical engineer.
"Damn, sorry about that. I told them not to use that damn catapult thing over there but they wouldn't listen. Luckily for you I'm good at steering." Paxcow said.

"I'll be fine but this one needs radiation treatment now." Regahn said.

"Well do you have it?" Paxcow asked.

Regahnb reached into his pocket and pulled out a key.
"Let's get away first." Regahn said and pushed himself and Benji through the hatch.

"Oh, by the way." Regahn said just as Buckingham palace exploded from the inside behind him.

"Merry Christmas."
*************

The nameless man typed furiously into the computer.
He saw now why the restrictions had been put onto the subject. If this was what it could do withe the restrictions, then what could have happened at this point if they weren't there?
He quickly stopped thinking about such things and got back to typing the report.

Regahn fell to the floor as the music rang through his head again.
It wasn't natural. It would normally only torment him through by playing the same section of music as though on a loop.
But sometimes it would get so bad that it would burst into his mind sounding as though someone had chopped up the chorus and rearranged it.
It was enough to make him miss Blaine's constant singing.
But Blaine was gone when the music was there. Regahn could usually see him in his mind, sleeping or doing something else, but he was just not there.

Regahn roared and slammed his head against the brick wall.
He heard a voice through the ringing music and saw a shape appear in front of him.
"What the hell? Are you alright?" The blurry shape in front of him said and began shaking him.

Blood flowed over Regahn's eyes and he lashed out, roaring.

llionmuss, I embradoce you. This kiss is for all the world! Brwelloth

All Regahn knew was that he tasted and smelled blood.

loving Father

Regahn fell to the ground in a blind rage as the music faded away.
He coughed and blood spurted from inside his mouth. It didn't seem to be his blood.
Another sound appeared then. Close to him.
He wiped the blood from his eyes and looked up to see someone standing in front of him.
Someone helped him to his knees as he nearly vomited.

"I can't leave you alone for a second, can I?" He heard.

She stood him up and said, "You may not want to be here right now."

"....What?" He asked, confused.

"The window over there. You should go now." She said pointing to the window behind him.

"Who... what?" Regahn sputtered.

"Just go." Ella said and kissed him on the forehead.

Regahn didn't seem to notice as he felt a wet feeling on his hand.
He looked down and saw a dog sitting next to her and panting.

"Go!" Ella said as Regahn heard voices coming from the door way.

Regahn stumbled backwards and quickly pulled the body on the ground over to the window and let it fall into the watter below.
He looked back over his shoulder and saw Ella standing motionless as Dog Meat sat next to her still panting.
Before he could say anything he saw blood slowly began to drip down Ella's neck.
Regahn gasped and tripped over the window frame and into the cold night air.
Soon he felt water cover his entire body as he sunk beneath the lake.

"Looks like the beginning of history." Ella said.

Note: Welcome back. I've missed you.

Riley woke in a cold sweat and looked around.
Where was Milo and was he alright? And where was he?
He looked over at a calendar and saw that the date circled had "Christmas" written across it by someone else.

"What the hell is wrong with him?!" He heard from beyond the door of the room he was in.
He attempted to lean up on his elbow but felt that he could barley move his arm muscles.
He began to wonder how long he had been out and started trying to move his toes.
There where several loud snaps as his toes popped with every movement.

After about an hour he began to be able to move around a little.
"At least whoever has us here knows muscle treatment." Riley#2 said, sitting on the corner of the bed.

He stood up and walked around Riley's table.
"Wow. They even got you your own IV." He said, laughing to himself.

Riley noticed that the screaming on the other side of the door had stopped a while ago and had been replaced by low scraqes across the floor outside.
"Well that sounds... normal." Riley#2 said. Normal for Riley was bad.

Riley's head then shot around and looked at the date on the calendar.
"Oh my god! Holy (censored)!"
There was then a loud screech from outside of the door followed by several others which sounded farther away.
The door burst open as zombie stumbled through and hit the floor.

Riley yelped and fell off the table.
His shoulder hit the tile floor hard as the zombie struggled around on the floor at the opposite end of the room.
Riley attempted to push himself up with one hand but fell to the floor instantly.
His arm shook and he looked under the bed to see that now eight zombies where running at the door way.
Limply, he threw himself upwards and tossed himself into the bed.
The bed rolled into the door way nocking the zombies down and momentarily blocking them off.

"Why are these pathetic things everywhere?" Riley thought as he attempted to crawl twords an open window.
He pulled the IV over by the cord and it fell onto the window seal with most of the parts falling off.
He lifted himself up with the IV and fell forwards through the window.

It was about ten feet to the ground and he was instantly thankful he didn't have time to check the distance to the ground with the zombies charging him.
He painfully rolled down a hill just as several bullets hit the ground next to him.
He looked over and saw that someone was standing at the top of the hill and shooting at him (probably because of the zombies).
Riley managed to pick up and hurl a rock at the NCR ranger with all of the strength left in him.
With amazing luck it hit the top of the gun which jammed.
A zombie fell from the window and landed on the NCR as he began to fondle with the gun.

"Oops." Riley thought as he collapsed again.
He wished he could just lay there but he knew he had to keep moving.
Leaning up he saw that the zombies seemed to be only inside the NCR building for some reason.
He pushed himself to his feet and began limping slowly twords a watch tower that didn't seem to have anyone in it.

"Should be safe if I get to high ground. I've never seen one of theses things climb something. I haven't even seen a feral climb-" His thoughts where cut off when he was hit in the back of the head with some blunt object.

"Ow! Damn it! What the hell?!" Riley yelled and whirled around to see the NCR ranger standing behind him.

"Oh... that didn't knock you out?" The ranger asked, confused.

"No! How many times have you hit someone in the back of the head and had them just fall to the ground?" Riley said angrily, "Why are you even attacking me? There are zombies!"

"The threat is contained and I thought you might have been one..." The NCR went on a little embarrassed.

"Do I look like I have spores growing on my head? And why would you try to knock out a zombie anyway?!" Riley asked.

"Hey, aren't you that guy that was in the coma? How are you up and about?" The ranger asked.

"The zombies helped." Riley said, rubbing the back of his head.

CHAPTER 44: Neurosis

"This is bad. Does anyone even know what happened?" The technician asked.
Most of the NCR at the Hoover Dam where crowded into the building and searching for the cause of the infestation.

"Ok, why does nobody suspect the psycho outsider who just decided to come out of his "coma" when all of this began?" A janitor asked.

"Ben, calm down." The technician said.

"Not now Allison, I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking. That guy was in a room on the lower level where the infection was. And he was also the only survivor." Ben went on.

"Well it's not like I can time when I want to come out of a coma!" Riley said, groaning a little.
His arm was in a sling and he was leaning on a bloody table.

Ben and Alison stared at him for a moment.
"What?" Alison asked, confused.

"I don't know. He's been talking like that ever since I brought him inside." The ranger who had attacked Riley said, "I think it's just psychological trauma. He did just come out of a coma to be greeted with zombies."

Riley sighed an thought, "It's times like these when I miss Regahn."
**************

"It's times like these when I miss Charles dikeens." Regahn thought, staring down at the body on the floor.

"Regahn?" Benji asked.

"Oh, right." Regahn said and crouched over the body.

"So what do you think?" Benji asked, "We've been over the scene but we can't find any form of forced entry."

"You!" Regahn said, pointing at Benji an inch from his face.

"I need you, you specifically! to go get me a blow torch, a magnifying glass, and a red light of some kind!" Regahn said, quickly.

"...Righto!" Benji said and turned to the door.
He was used to this sort of thing from Regahn and he always seemed to know what he was doing.

"Regahn what have you got now?" Paxcow asked.

"Why are you even in here? You work the docks. Shoo!" Regahn said, waving his hand at the window.

"Wh-" Paxcow started but was cut off.

"Why are you here?" One of the resistance members asked.

"Fine." Paxcow said and left.

Regahn jumped to his feet and briskly walked to the corner of the room singing, "Cannot work with so many questions."

"What questions?" The resistance member asked.

Regahn's hand flew up again and he said, "You are the weakest link!" While he was rummaging through one of the bookshelves in the room.

"I-" The resistance member started.

"I miss Milo. Milo never asked too many questions, he figured it out on his own. Though he did [censored] constantly. At least from what I can remember of him, by which I mean, when we were children. I wonder if I've seen him since my father forced the lot of us into that vault." Regahn ranted while sprinting around the room doing seemingly random things.

The resistance member looked over at the other that was in the room and shrugged.
"I wonder why that vault let us in. Though, of course, anything I've wondered, I've wondered infinite times." He went on as he stared at the ceiling for a moment.

It was then that Benji entered with his arms loaded down with various objects.
"Thank you, I need..."Reghan said running to the door, "...this." He picked out a red strobe light, causing everything Benji was holding to fall to the floor.
Regahn barley noticed and ran back over to the corpse.

He sat down in front of the body and tore a piece of the rug off.
He then lit the strobe light and smashed it on the ground.
It quickly lit the piece of the rug. The flame flared bright blue.

"What does that mean?" One of the resistance members asked.

"This rug was made somewhere near here. We need someone to find out who!" Regahn said.

"What?" The resistance asked.

"Priorities!" Regahn said and ran from the room.

"Ooooh suave." Blaine said.

"Never underestimate the power of confusion."Regahn replied.

CHAPTER 45: Camisado

Benji leaned back on the chair again and felt the exhaustion creeping up again.
"So what do you think of these guys?" Benji asked.

"I think they will be dramatically crushed at the hands of these Befreiung, especially if they had anything to do with the people who killed out parents. It will be entertaining though." Geir replied.

"That's lovely, I think their just an organised group of raiders. Anyyyyywaaaaayyyy... about the murder..." Benji said.

"Regahn did it or it was a grudge murder." Geir said.

"Yes, obviously. But if he was trying to cover it up then why wouldn't he try harder to shift the suspicion away from him? Does he seem to not be thinking clearly?" Benji asked.

"Do you think he's ever thinking clearly?" Geir said, "I'm going to sleep. Wake me if someone tries to kill us again."

Benji groaned and stood up. He wondered again why the resistance had rooms for them already.
It was as though they had known for a while that he and Regahn would be coming.
/and why was there even a resistance for what seemed like a small group of raiders moving on an over ridden city?

Benji walked to the door and peered through the crack.
He wondered what building they where in. For the past two nights they had been here he had heard loud banging sounds.
There was a creaking sound above him and he jumped back from the door and nearly fell over.
He saw that he was getting jumpy again so he sat back down at his desk and continued to write in his journal.
**************

"Thanks to the information our new allies have brought us, we now know where the main source of this operation resides." Granza stated before the entire resistance.

"How he attained this information we don't know. But the important thing is that we know how to stop all of this before it starts." Granza said as he pulled down a large, generic map.

"These Befreiung have so far moved on large areas of the dead lands, which is why we originally thought they where from there, and small areas of the upper forsaken land." Granza went on, moving the pointer he was holding across Mexico and the U.S.

"But we now see that their tactic was to hide their homeland. But it is fitting for their base of operations to be in Hamburg, Germany." Granza said with the pointer moving across the map to Germany.

"We are attempting to contact the invaded areas but for now, the bulk of us are to move into Hamburg. When this is done we shall return and rid our city of the scourge that shuffles through the streets of our empire. We will rebuild our city and then the world!" Granza said loudly and held the pointer in the air.
This was followed by a cheer from the resistance.

One of the resistance stood up and asked, "But how many should we send to Germany? The Befreiung are everywhere while we are stretched thin."

Granza smiled and said, "There are others like us in Germany, defectors who have contacted us."

"And who shall lead this?" The resistance member asked.

"Well, Rudolf, we were hoping it would be you." Granza went on.

"By we, you mean you and the council?" Rudolf asked.

"Of course." Granza said.

"And who shall be going with me?" Rudolf asked.

"Volunteers." Granza replied.
Almost instantly, most of the resistance stood up.

"Volunteers and the informants." Granza went on.

Benji and Regahn both looked up.
"Wait, what?" Benji asked.

"Now we're going to Germany?" Regahn asked.

"You have to understand, we are new. You've been on the inside for months. We need you to get to the heart of this wretched army." Granza said.

"How many places have I been so far?" Regahn asked Benji.

"Look, I'm just a mercenary who got the wrong job and was sent on some crusade just to be thrown in a prison. So I would really like to just get back to Birmingham. I'm starting to miss the fires." Benji said.

"We hardly know a thing about who we're fighting. We need you." Granza explained.

"Aww, come on. They really seem to like you." Geir laughed.

"Shut it, Geir!" Benji accidentally said out loud.

"Oh, what are we going to do when we get back to Grays anyway? This might be fun." Geir said.

Benji sighed and said, "Fine."
He sat back down and continued to argue with Geir.

"So that's it then? This is for history. Years from now your children will wake up without fear of raiders or mutated creatures. We will fix what the American leaders began all those years ago. We will fix the world!" Granza stated, followed by another long cheer from the resistance.

Note: If the quality of the chapters have dipped a little, it's because being stuck in the middle of nowhere for the past few months is bad for creativity.

"La la la la-"

"Piss off!" Regahn yelled at Blaine.

"Aww, what's wrong with you? I've never seen you upset before." He asked.

Regahn sighed and said,"This means I'm a part of a faction..."

"Faction?"Blaine asked, not really caring.

"Yes! What is the difference between this resistance and the "Nazis"? They both think they are "Fixing the world". This is the same way the pre-war government started! It started out as a small foundation that rebelled because it was oppressed and look at what it became!" Regahn ranted furiously.

"Alright, alright. Why is this such a sensitive thing with you?" Blaine asked.

"Because gods and rulers are bad. Trust me." Regahn went on.

"Whatever. I think you just miss Riley."

"Who the hell is Riley?"

CHAPTER 46: Screamers

The bus slowed to a stop in front of the docks where the resistance was to meet.
Regahn looked up from his watch and over at who was sitting next to him.

"Who's this, then?" Regahn asked.

"Your friend." Blaine said.

Benji looked out the window and saw someone standing at the docks with his arm up.
He saw the driver get out and walk over to him. They talked for a while and soon walked over to the bus.
Benji looked over at Regahn and saw that his hands where clasped around his forehead.

He felt awkward for a moment, realizing he didn't know what to say.
Eventually he said, "What's wrong?"

"Wha-? Gah! Migraine.... in hell...." Regahn muttered.

Benji looked up and saw that the man and the bus driver had just opened the doors to the bus.
They walked up the stairs and turned to look at the entire resistance.
"I... know him...." Geir said suddenly.

"What?" Benji said, looking up.

The man was standing behind the bus driver. They where both looking out at the resistance as though they where going to say something.

"I know him!" Geir yelled and stood up.

"Geir?" Benji said out loud.

The bus driver's chest suddenly exploded as bullets tore through the seats of the bus.
The driver's body fell forwards revealing two customized, fully automatic m-1 .30 carbines.
Geir was already leaping across the seats at him.
Seven bullets flew past him as he flung himself across the isle. He propelled himself forwards off the shoulder of a resistance member who's chest instantly exploded.
He flew just between the bullets flying from the gun and forced his hand into the man's shoulder. He then pushed the man's entire arm out of place and through him forwards into the bus windshield.
Before the man had even hit the front of the bus, Geir threw his shoulder into the man and forced him into the windshield.
Geir picked up the gun behind him and hit the man across the face with it before he could fully process what was happening.
He hit him with it again and again until Benji took over and said, "Geir, what the hell is going on?!"

Geir looked up at the man's face and his eyes filled with rage.
He then pushed the carbine through his chest.
The man attempted to yell out in pain but all that escaped from his mouth was blood.
Geir pushed forwards on the carbine. It pierced through his back and went into the windshield
The windshield cracked and sharp pieces of glass began to fall from it.

The man looked up and something in his eyes changed.
"Ha-...Hannibal?" He said, just before a large sliver of glass fell forwards and into the back of his neck.

He felt someone pull him backwards.
Large shards of glass fell to the floor in front of Benji's feet.
He stared at the dead man for a while and eventually turned to look at who was kneeling on the floor behind him, panting.

"So you have that little issue too, eh?" Regahn said. He was covered in blood and had been hit in the hand.

"I resent you referring to me as an issue." Blaine mumbled.

It looked as though they where the only survivors.

Note: I didn't want to leave London so early.

Like the end of all of your pain, falling down like the rain.

"Ron? Where are you going?" The boy's father asked.

The boy turned from the vault doorway and said, "We're being watched. There are things happening and I have to find them. I'll be back soon."
The boy took a few steps out into the hall.

"Ron." The boy's father called to him again.
The boy pretended not to hear him and continued on.

"Regahn!"

The boy turned back to see the entire room covered with blood, and at the center of it a man and a woman with blood dripping from them.
"Don't ever come back. There is nothing left."

The boy felt himself begin to cry.
He put his face in his hands but saw they where covered in blood as well.

"Wake up! We have to do something about this!" Benji yelled, shaking him awake.

"So that's why you never sleep... Your afraid to." Blaine said.

CHAPTER 47: Remember remember the 28th of March

"We continue." Rudolf replied.

"But how? The directions we were given were provided by the enemy. For all we know, they'll shoot us down the second we step off the bus." Bella asked.
Eight of them had survived the onslaught, including Benji and Regahn.

"We could just turn the bus around. There where other transports, maybe they made it through." Monique said.

Rudolf looked back and said, "No, we can't. I was chosen to lead this! What would they do without me?"

"I'm guessing they would continue on as planned. I don't really see what the leader does anyway... other than give speeches." Damien said.
They were all stopped by the sound of Rudolf's radio clicking on.

"Hello there Paxcow!" Regahn said, imitating Rudolf's voice, "Would you like to join us? ....no? I wouldn't either but we've hit a bit of a snag here."

"That was in my pocket a second ago..." Rudolf said.

"Ah ha ha, yes. Anyway, we need you to bring that submarine of your's to the docks.... Well then pull it out of the sodden crater! ....alright, just hurry it up and try not to get your head blown off yet!" Regahn went on.
He clicked off the radio and turned to the others.

"He'll be here in about an hour." Regahn said, pushing the radio back into Rudolf's pocket.

"Bastard..." Rudolf muttered.

"So we're to just lay here on our bellies-"

"Sha! Gah! I hate that word!" Regahn yelled, cutting him off.

Blake looked at him confused and went on, "So we're going to lay here for an entire hour?"
They didn't know if there was an ambush waiting for them outside so they had been lying under the bus seats.

"Anyone want to play Backgammon?" Damien asked.

Rudolf, looking frustrated, leaned up on one arm and attempted to peer out the window.
All he saw beyond were buildings and empty streets.
"Alright, there's no one out there. Someone has to do it...." Rudolf said and slowly began to stand up.

When he finally got to his feet he said, "There, you see? Nothing."
He heard a sound and tensed up, almost expecting to be shot. But nothing came.

"Alright." One of the resistance said, standing up along with several others, "Should we call off Paxcow? Why would they send only one person?"

Benji shot up and crawled into one of the seats.
"Maybe he did it all on his own." Benji said, looking down at the dead man."

A few more of them stood up and one said, "So no Backgam-"
He was cut off as several bullets flew through the windows, tearing through them.

Benji pushed himself into the seat as two bodies fell over him.

"Fools." Regahn thought.

"Everyone! Get-" Rudolf yelled through the slaughter.

Regahn saw Rudolf hit the floor. He crawled over to Rudolf and saw that he had been shot three times in the back.
He took the radio out of his pocket again and switched it on.

"Paxcow! Where are you?" He yelled into it.

"I'm here. What the hell is going on out there?" Paxcow answered.
The gunfire had stopped now and everyone was either dead or wounded.

"The sub is in front of the docks. I've found a little boat house to open the hatch without being seen." The voice over the radio said.

Regahn crawled to the front of the bus and peered through a small hole.
"Alright, I see it. I'll be there." Regahn replied and put the the radio in the pocket of the striped jacket he made out of prison uniforms.

Regahn looked up the bus controls and pushed the button for the strobe lights. He quickly turned the keys and ducked under the dashboard.
As soon as the bus started a bullet flew into the driver's seat.
Because of the spinning strobe lights the snipers were partially blind.

Regahn peered through the hole, still hugging the floor, and pushed the peddle forwards with his hand.
As the bus sped forward, the snipers fired at it in an attempt to stop it.
A round hit a wheel and the bus swerved into the side of the boat house.
Regahn looked up and felt the bus begin to tip slightly sideways.

"Hmm interesting...." Regahn thought as he slowly tipped over.
He was thrown to the side as the bus tipped over along with the wounded and the bodies.

Benji looked around confused and opened the hatch on the roof.
He saw Paxcow open the exposed hatch to the submarine and yell, "Come on!"

He quickly turned around and started to check everyone's pulse.
Rudolf was still alive but badly injured. Benji put his arms under Rudolf's waste and attempted to lift him up.
He yelped, finding that he had been hit twice in the arm.
Thankfully, he heard a groan and saw several bodies lift up and get pushed aside. Damien crawled out and said, "What... happened?"

"Just help me get the wounded!" Benji said and lifted up Rudolf by the arms.

Regahn looked up and saw that they were apparently dragging people now.
He ran over to Benji and picked up Rudolf's legs just as another sniper shell flew at them.
Blake groaned and attempted to pull himself up.
"Run... Run!" He said, waving them away.
He dropped back to the ground and pulled a pistol from his pocket.

"I'll cover you!" He shouted and began firing at the snipers now running twords the bus.
This didn't last long because his head was quickly shot off as Damien attempted to pull him and Bella up.
Damien dropped his corpse and ran, holding Bella up.

Bella dropped to the ground and quickly began crawling out of the hatch with Damien behind her.
Damien was halfway through the hatch when he was shot in the side. He had already been shot in both legs and could barley walk.
The other's pulled him the rest of the way through the hatch. They ran (as well as they could) to the submarine.

"Out of the nineteen that where on the bus there's five of us. I hope the rest doesn't go like this." Benji thought as he crawled down the hatch.

Note: I'm probably going to stop putting notes at the beginning of every chapter.

The nameless man clicked away at the keyboard.
He didn't know what was happening to WDYTR. It seemed that even with the memory constraints, the subject was remembering small things like names and shreds of details.
These, of course, where normal in cases of anyone with memory loss. In fact, it would be odd if they didn't remember these things.
Some things developed into instinct, and these where understandable. But the subject was remembering too much.
There where shreds of his past that he seemed to hint at remembering. How would that be possible with the technology they where using on him?
Yes, the subject's mind was different from anything even the overseers had ever seen but how could even he combat something like this?
Maybe they didn't really understand him and where fools to think that they could control him.

The nameless man quickly pushed all of those thoughts from his mind. He was taught thinking like that was unnatural.
But looking at the subject he wondered what was natural.
He pushed the wheelchair away from the computer and opened one of the lower cupboards on the desk. He hesitated as he saw the gun it was holding.
For some reason, seeing the gun always threw him off.
He turned to another computer and began typing. There was something he had done before that the overseers wanted him to do again.

CHAPTER 48: The cure

"[censored], just.... We've lost Rudolf." Damien said, putting his hand over Rudolf's wrist.

"Damn it... well do we at least know if any of the others got through?" Bella asked.

"Wait, don't you see? The murder and the ambush? Maybe it's all connected!" Damien said, slipping Rudolf's silver watch off his dead wrist.

Benji looked up and said, "What?"

"What about those coordinates we got from where the rug was made? Maybe we should look there." Bella said.

"Well how about we go get somethin to eat now? Eh, guys?" Ort said.

"What? Who are you and how did you get in here?" Damien asked.
**************

Milo, still uppity about all that had happened recently, walked twords a small settlement on the horizon.
Nothing had really turned out the way he wanted ever since he had found Regahn lying in front of those mercenaries. And now he was trying to find his way back to Riley.
He could see now that it was more of a tower at the base of a hill.

"Ugh, I miss my shopping cart." He thought as he got to the two Legion troops standing at the doors of the tower.

"Hi, can you give me directions to the Hoover dam?" Milo asked.

They looked at him confused. Apparently they weren't used to people walking up to them and talking. Especially not about the Hoover Dam.
One of them decided that hostility was the best way to go and said, "What business do you have with our Dam?" And pushed the spear twords Milo.

"Nope." Milo said, holding up the lottery ticket.

The Legion disappointedly said, "It's in that direction. I hate that they do that." And pointed northwest.

Milo began to walk off but turned and said, "Oh, I forgot. I erm... got AIDS recently and haven't cured it yet. Got any Nuka cola?" He asked.
The other Legion tossed one to him.

"Thanks." Milo said and continued to walk.
