The Dunmer people forgot love and the Ministry of Truth lost its enchantments that were placed on it by Vivec, it crashed into the city and destroyed a good portion of Vvardenfell, then Red Mountain errupted, destroying the rest. The Argonians had their work cut out for them.

Can't say the Dunmer didn't have it coming. It's what you get for enslaving a race like that.

When I was playing Morrowind I was convinced that the Dunmer were going to try to rebel against the Imperials, at which point my character was going to head into the swamps and lead groups of freed slaves in a guerrilla war. Even stockpiled enchanted arrows so my ambushes would have a deadly first volley....maybe I need to be making a mod...

It's not THAT drastic. Yeah, Morrowind is under control of Argonians now. We aren't in Morrowind and won't be for a very long time. I imagine by the time we get back to Morrowind it'll be a completely different place under new management anyway, if we ever go back at all.

hm, i heard king helseth was still around though after the invasion and that he still had some power. Wouldn't he of been hung/overthrown?

and can you provide a link to anything that says what you say happened? because IIRC the argonians haven't secured ALL of Morrowind.
^key word "secured"
Read the book! I cannot stress this enough, for you will only get 3rd hand sources, which are either full of [censored], a guess, or someone trying to remember what they read.

And no, there is NOTHING about Helseth. Whoever told you he was dead or alive is making a guess, or took a guess as fact.

The only known facts are (warning, spoilers from the book):
Spoiler
  • The dunmer have been pushed out of Morrowind, and now reside in Solstheim (from the book), Skyrim (from what is known about the game), and likely Cyrodiil (close proximity to Morrowind).
  • Sul fled Morrowind to Cyrodiil when he landed back in Morrowind, after spending 20 years in Oblivion trying to return to Mundus. Came out of a portal in the ruins of Vivec, surrounded by argonians when they were performing some ritual.
  • Vvardenfell is still covered in ~4ft of ash with the sea around Vvardenfell boiling, even 40 years after the Red Year.
  • Some dunmer made off with Umbra at the ruins of Vivec when heading towards Solstheim
  • MK dropped a hint that the nords of Solstheim will be providing lots of charity to the dunmer refugees

That is literally all we know, nothing else.

This thread belongs in Skyrim because it concerns events that have no relevance whatsoever to TES3, given they happen hundreds of years after the game.

As for the dirty lizard race taking over Morrowind, it makes sense. A desolate wasteland that's been destroyed by an asteroid and is filled with dead dunmer is like heaven for the argonians.

Eh, Dunmer have been through just as bad. They'll come back angrier and even grittier voiced than ever. It'll be a like granpa's old truck is idling inside their voice box.

I'll be getting the first novel tomorrow, so I'll read it then and catch up on this lore. Not to mention I can't wait for what'll be in The Lord of Souls in Sept. :read:

the argonians can burn in ancestor fire, I half excepted something along the lines of them showing compassion and understanding and accomodating the Dunmer. last I check it was the Deadra who so mortally F'ed the Chimer/Dunmer with their garbage, the Dunmer were by far the most culturally diverse group we've been exposed to in TES thus far, it was undergoing a radical change and BEWM gets f'd because some arsehate of a Demi God couldnt find a better solution to MOVING A COMET AWAY LOOMING OVER THE CAPITAL OF VVARDENFEL. Vivec basically left it looming there as a constant reminder he doesnt even make any attempt to hide that fact, discontinue your love for me and everyone dies? really? k and lets not forget Sheo who *tricked* Bao dur to go to Nirn in the first place.

The Gods of TES need to Die. poor mortals always getting kicked in the face by them, always. like a small child burning ants with a Magnifying glass.

I will revel in scraping Akatosh's face across the rubble of creation with extreme prejudice.

Well if the nords are "welcoming the dunmer" as mentioned above the dirty swamp lizards may have to deal with the nords once the civil war ends. In other words, the price of argonian skin boots will drop immensely.

It will be interesting to hear what has happened in the province of Morrowind in TES:V.

I've always had a place in my heart for the little guys. :touched: However, they weren't quite the same on Oblivion as I fondly remembered them in Morrowind. Maybe had to do with the toad like appearances? and human feet? what's up with that? I know a lot of people don't like them not being able to wear boots... but, if you wanted the armor... why couldn't they just take the "shoe" part out of the boot and just implement the armor pieces to some wrap around their shins?

Thought this would be an appropriate venue to show my 'hair' option http://anthonyandolini.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d3bpjkd a drew up a while ago. Just a little something. sorry if it's spammy. lol

I remember that someone said in another thread that it was somekind of renegade Argonian faction that decided to conquer Morrowind. Any info on this? If not, I guess we can only wait for Skyrim to get the most accurate info in game what really happened.

Perhaps my people will learn to respect you Lizar.... uh i mean Argonians. OH who am i kiddin go to #@$% you %$#@# POND SCUMS! I'l make a boot out of you guys
