[RELz] The Arsenal

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 8:16 am

The The Chakram looks rather easy xD, As Wetblanket said it would work well as a melee weapon and problably even better with UV2.

Ideas are nice, I'll take note, but no promises though :)

i was thinkin how easy the chakram looked! i might have a go at er myself. cant wait the V2 release its gonna be awesome :D

Nah gonna make ya wait :lmao:

No firm release date, don't want any pressure. The longest part will be finishing off the last of the models and textures, the CS work should not take long, well hopefully xD. As soon as we have an idea we'll let you all know.

There are a couple ways to do it off the top of my head:

  • Start with a Circle (Non Filled), scale it to the size you want, extrude inwards as far as you need. This way will leave a hole in the center, then select all the circle then extrude down for depth.
  • Scale up a circle (Filled) or a cylinder to the size you want it, place it in the center of your model, make sure its scaled larger than your model on the Z Axis. Then use the Boolean modifier to cut the new circle/cylinder out of your model.

i did it this way -
I made a cylinder, scaled it to the proper size, deleted the inside verts, then selcted all and duplicated, and scaled down from there. now of course i have make all the faces for it, but its better than the one i had before! :P thx IS :)

Hope it helps, the first option I mentioned was the way I made mine, then I just tweaked the edges ect to get it the way I wanted it. Nice, easy and clean :D

Wow, how did I miss this? There are some awesome weapons in here, can't wait for them to get integrated into MMM or similar.

One beef with the Assassin' Tonfa, though... with the blade where it is, if the item's actually http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILzmQoAkirU the user would end up cutting their own arm off. If there's gotta be a blade it should be on the short "punching" end of the tonfa, or at the very least be turned so it would lay flat against the forearm when the weapon is held in the blocking position (but many blades would break if used to block on the flat like that...).

Sorry to be picky, but I've been training with http://www.tesshinkan.de/Home/home-en.php for a few years now, and seeing that blade there made my toes curl. :P

The tonfa have been a bit of a problem really, OB was not meant to have these type of weapons, so with the current weapon positions/animations it's hard to have them look good. Basically I worked within the limits of OB

Yeah, it would be nice if there were some more weapon stances for several weapontypes. Alas, as that's not the case, it's all a compromise. :glare:

they look alright with KSTN Stylized Stances, the dual wield one. Meant for swords but the tonfa's look alright with em

I'll try and tweak the Tonfa to get a better grip position ect, but there is not a great deal I can do.
