The Assassination of Mr. Black [IC]

Post » Mon Apr 25, 2011 12:47 pm

Mark was sitting outside the Goodsprings General Store, Goodsprings was Marks home, he lived here with his girlfriend Sunny Smiles who was also the mayor. Sunny knew that Mark was an assassin and she wasn't a fan of it but she loved Mark enough to ignore it. Mark was looking around the town of Goodsprings, it was filled with people, most of them refugees of the NCR. Two citizens were talking to Sunny Smiles about the recent problems with the Silver Marauders who were the number one raider gang in the Mojave. The Silver Marauders are lead by Teary who is a former Fiend, when the Fiends were attacked by the NCR while they fled the Mojave they were crushed, Teary managed to get out alive and started a career on robbing casinos, not the ones on the Strip of course. Within time others started to join in on the robbing with Teary and eventually the group called themselves the Silver Marauders and started to go into the Raider business with the money they made. Ever since they have been a major problem for the Mojave, but not Vegas.

"The Silver Marauders need to be dealt with Sunny you dumb [censored]! YOU HAVEN'T DONE [censored] ABOUT THEM AND I AM [censored] SICK OF IT!" yelled one of the citizens. Sunny looked at the citizen with disgust and anger, "Never speak to me in such a way again, I have been good to the people of Goodsprings, better then our previous Mayor and I will not accept anyone talking to me like that. You are lucky I don't end you right here." said Sunny. Mark slowly made his way towards Sunny and the citizens. "We aren't going to speak to you with respect Sunny, not until you fix the Marauder problem, twenty seven people have died already Sunny, TWENTY SEVEN." barked the other citizen. Sunny was extremely annoyed at this point, Mark stepped in. "Don't talk to her like that or it will be twenty eight buddy, I don't give a [censored] who you are." Mark said with an equal amount of anger. "Thank you Mark, now leave my sights you two. The problem will be dealt with as soon as possible, I am trying my hardest. Me doing nothing is the biggest lie I have ever heard and it angers me beyond belief." said Sunny, "So Mark, whats up?" Mark smiled and looked at Sunny, "I have another contract. A very valuable and interesting contract. A secret contract." said Mark. "Oh, secret you say. Interesting. Well I guess I won't be seeing you for awhile." Sunny said with sadness, "No you won't. But when I am done with this contract I am retiring, the pay is that good." said Mark. "What? Holy [censored] how much are you making? Who are you killing?" asked Sunny. "Two pieces of information best kept confidential Sunny, I love you, goodbye." replied Mark, Sunny kissed Mark and said goodbye.

Mark made his way to the abandoned town of Sloan, when he arrived no one was there so he just sat down and drifted off, whoever came next would wake him. But who would it be? An elder or another assassin.

Hans Waltz

I sat in the bar at The Tops, drinking a bottle of beer.

"That'll be twenty caps." said the bartender

"Deduct that from 'keeping Mr.Black off your ass' and it comes out zero caps." I said. A fellow hunter came in, and sat next to me.

"Hans." he said "Some group of people are gathering a group of the top assassins. They want you!"

I looked at him in shock "Look, you know as well as I do I am done with that crap! But, how much is the pay?"

"They didn't tell me, they just said a worthy position." He said, I smiled. I got up and left the Casino. My rifles slung over my shoulder. I walked to Sloan, abandoned, yes.

Desmond Flynn

It was all leading to this, the extinsive training, in stealth, in firearms, in survival. Des' father would be happy knowing that all his training would come to good use, he was afraid he would miss out on everything in the Capital Wasteland, but the pay is good, and the cause is just. Des hopped on his Harley with earnest, but he was also nervous, he knew that if he started up his bike, there would be no turning back. After his father's death, he wasn't sure he wanted to go on, but once his friend Jack gave him the offer, he knew it was less about money and more about the greater good. Des filled up the gas tank, and headed for the Mojave, all he knew was to go to a place called Sloan and look for a man named Mark, he would get his instructions there.

When Des reached Sloan he was greeted to a man nodding off with a briefcase in his lap, Des shook the man awake and he woke with a start, "are you Desmond Flynn", he asked. Des replied casually "why yes my friend, tell me, do you treat all greetings the same or just with known assassins"? Mark rolled his eyes and opened the briefcase, in it were orders for thier next rendevous, the now FSF controlled Novak, in the briefcase as well, were desguises, they were to look like janitors, once inside they will meet with a contact willing to give them both passports into New Vegas, the contacts name, Boone...

OOC: Well my first introductory post. Let's go. And Desmond, your post would be character controlling. It's when you control another player's character's actions or dialogue such as Mark. Controlling a character that isn't yours or an NPC is a no-no. This is to prevent any mishaps or fights between players. Unless Josh is fine with this, you should change it after he responds.

In the future, when you interact with another character, simply go as far as interacting on your side with the character such as "Mike picked up the ball"
You: "Ben rushed towards Mike to wrestle him for the ball"

Dialogue after an action such as waking him up is alright.

John Sakin

John stood in front of Kirren's grave and sighed. The desert winds swept up the nicely placed bouquet as it scattered the loose pedals of orange, red, and yellow all across the colorless Mojave Wasteland.

"Are you proud of me Kirren? I've moved on...Terra's better now. Her pneumonia's gone and according to her, she's ready 'for action'. I guess we both are. Wherever you are...if you can even hear me, just know that I have moved on. I found new love, in a girl in Goodsprings. I guess...this is the last time."

Before John could say another word, Allison, the "girl in Goodsprings" watched John carefully before clearing her throat. That got his attention as he turned around to twinkling blue eyes. She smiled and hugged him. "Is this closure?" She asked.

John nodded and headed down the small dune of sand Kirren's grave was perched on. Down below was Goodsprings. He headed down and swung Allison around to meet her face to face.

"Allison...I'm going to leave," John said as Allison's face began to lose her regular bubbly nature. She looked more confused than sad.

John continued. "I'm going to Sloan. It will be my final mission. The final mission for the Desert Fox. Goodbye Allison." After a quick kiss with Allison, John headed to Sloan.

When he got to the abandoned town, Sloan was completely empty except a lone person sleeping. John sighed and kicked him to get him awake. "Are you the Elder?" He asked.

"This is your last chance, Cato."

"I will not fail you." Cato responded. The pitch black room masked the fear in his face, something he was not accustomed to.

"No, you will not."

------

Cato awoke to the sound of a man walking. Quickly, he stood up and took note of his surroundings. A man was walking towards a small, abandoned town about 50 yards from Cato. They had told him he was not going alone, so this was most likely normal. He made sure he had his katana, his knife, and his M9's and slowly walked towards the town. He kept his hand on his handgun, all the while watching for any hostile activity.

When he reaches the town he sees five other men, one asleep, and the others looking quite bored. Cato made his way over to where several men were congregated, announced his name, and took a seat beside a house. His eyes locked on the other men, he could see everyone from here. Although they were going to help him, he could not trust them yet. Trust nobody.

Mark was awoken by a kick, Mark looked up at the person who did it, it was a man. He asked if Mark was the Elder, Mark shook his head no and got up from the ground. "Nope not me. I am waiting for the bastard to arrive." said Mark. After saying that another man showed up, and then another. "Looks like there is some more people here, lets hope one of them is an Elder." Mark made his way to a man leaning against the wall, the man said "Why does this remind me of something", clearly he had no idea that Mark and the other man where here. "Um hello?" asked Mark, he was confused, was the man blind? Not likely. Mark noticed another man come in, he saw the others but he said nothing, he stood still. The same with another man. Things were getting weird, Mark was starting to get worried, was this whole thing a sham? Where these men sent here to kill Mark? Mark had not even heard of the Elders before, he was now extremely paranoid.

Jade walked up the road from Primm, quickley checking over herself to make sure she had all her equipment. Combat kife in her boot, check, Sig Sauer, check, Marksman Carbine, check. that was all she needed. Walking down the road the carbine that was held to her back by a strap bounced softly up and down in time with her steps.

"Hey, little lady, c'mear" Jade stopped and looked to her left at the Nevada highway patrol station, 5 raider's aproached from the building.

"Now why would i do that?" she said with blatant sarcasm in her voice

"Because i like what i see thats why" there was assorted cheer's and wistles from the other four

"Most people do, but that don't mean they get it" The lead raider approached her and as he put out a hand to grab her Jade shot down and grabbed the knife from her boot, bringing her left fist up it connected with the mans jaw of which she followed through with the knife and stabbed his neck. Reaching down to her hip she pulled out the pistol and fired at the other four raider's om quick succession. None of them had time to react. Pulling the knife out she wiped the blood on his clothes and sheathed it back in her boot

"Please...help me" one of the raider's who'd been shot was still breathing

"Your lucky im making this quick" and without remorse she pointed the pistol at his head and fired the last round. The slide on the pistol stayed back as Jaade dropped the empty mag out of the pistol, replacing it she then slide the slode forward again with a nice click. Turning and walking again she placed some sunglasses over her eye's an carried on to sloan.

-----SLOAN----

As sher approached sloan it was clear other where already here, she'd heard they might be part of a group. Opening the door she saw a few others

"So this is where the party's at, no elder's her yet? Name's Jade" she said as she smiled and walked into the dusty room.

Aron Erlichman

The door slid open easily, the room was poorly lit, but he could still make out five or six bodies sitting around.

"I... Am the Elder," he said trying to put ona mysterius booming voice.

He waited a small while to see if anyone would believe him or react and then he said:

"Nah I'm just screwing with ya, I'm only an Elder on Tuesday's and today is definitely not a Tuesday. So is this the place for Assasins"

I walked past the quarry, a haunting place it was. I looked at Black Mountain, then looked forward. I continued to Sloan. I walked into a building, sliding the door open. It was poorly lit, I can tell you that. I lit my pipe.

"Hello?" I said I could make out a few bodies. "So, I'm not alone I suppose." I sat down at a table and looked out into the room. I saw one man.

"Hey you! Are you our leader? Whats your name..." I snapped my fingers "Mark! Right?" I said.

The man was right, it was best if they stayed away from each other until they knew they were allies. Mark returned to his spot in the poorly lit room and watched as several people came in. One man came in claiming he was the Elder, he quickly revealed he was joking. "This is not a time for fun and games, dont [censored] around." said Mark with anger. He hated people pissing around. Seven people were in the shack now, and none of them was the Elder. Where was this Elder? Who knew. Not Mark. Another man walked in, he sat at a table after saying something, the man turned to Mark. "Hey you! Are you our leader? Whats your name... Mark! Right?" the man asked. "Yes I am Mark but I ain't your leader. How you know my name is a mystery to me. When this mission is over if I ever see you again a knife will be in your throat? Understand." Mark said with no emotion, he did not like this person who walked in, Mark knew nothing about him but almost instantly hated him.

I was confused, I stood up.

"Look, what the hell have I done to offend you? What are you? Legion? I've heard the Legion do that kind of crap. Now, can we settle this, now." I said, my voice straining with hatred for the man.

"You know nothing of the Legion you pathetic fool, keep your mouth closed before I cut your head off, do you understand me? I do not like you and I will not grow to like you. Its as simple as that. Your lucky your still alive." said Mark. He remained seated. Suddenly a man appeared in the middle of the room, Mark was shocked, what the hell was going on? The man was dressed in black and red robes. "I am the Elder. You are the chosen. Mr. Black must be eliminated. Go to Freeside. Speak to the criminal groups. Earn there trust. Get the attention of the Shadows." the Elder said, and with that he disappeared again. "What the [censored] just happened?" asked Mark.

After the idiot was done ranting, a man suddenly appeared, said something, and left.

"What the [censored] just happened?" asked Mark.

"I believe he just told us to go and kill Mr. Black, a task I will love doing. I know a few criminal groups in Freeside, spent some time there. Perhaps you've heard of me." I said, smoking my pipe.

And no I haven't you are nothing, probably just another Freeside [censored] who is a good shot." said Mark, "Since we got our orders its best we move out now. Anyone object?" Mark asked. He awaited a reply.

"No objections, but I think something more sinister is going, rather than us just dethroning a tyrant."

He sat there waiting for the responses from the others in the room. He was still thinking to his self about the strangeness of the man who claimed to be the Elder.

The group had meet the Elder and were told to go to Freeside, they arrived in a poor neighborhood that was filled with crime, who knew what was in store for these assassins?

"Freeside, damn this place is [censored] now. I remember when it was at least stable. [censored]. The Legion would do good for New Vegas. Not that I am in any way associated with the Legion." said Mark, "That Elder said to get to know some of the major crime groups in Freeside right? Fortunately I already know a lot about the top three. There is the Gold Empire, lead by Arnold Gold an ex Mercenary who shot up some NCR politicians, he escaped to Vegas right before the Securitrons attacked California. When he got to Vegas he made a street gang called the Gold-Diggers. Now there bigger and call themselves the Gold Empire. You see any [censored]s on the street chances are they are working for the Gold Empire. Luckily for us the Gold Empire isn't to much involved in murder, they try to avoid it. But you [censored] with there clients and they'll [censored] with you, not in a lethal way but close to it. Then there is the Leone's, lead by the playboy Tony Leone. These guys deal with hits and smuggling, they can get us a passport for New Vegas but we don't need them yet. Even if we get on the Strip we ain't getting into the Lucky 38. In order to kill Mr. Black we are going to need him to leave that tower. Thankfully he ain't like House. He leaves the tower on occasion, usually to go [censored] some girls over in his [censored] house. But back to the groups. The last one is the Crimson Renegades, there lead by three ex NCR Veteran Rangers. Though they have nothing in common with the NCR. They deal drugs, kill people for fun, burn and blow up buildings, [censored] people, and extort businesses. The FSF and the Shadows fight with these guys on a day to day basis. The Crimson Renegades have yet to lose. If we want the FSFs attention quick enough we should work with the Crimson Renegades. Unless you guys want to work with one of the other two? It doesn't really matter which one, either way were going to get there attention, but the Crimson Renegades will get us there quickest, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get them on our side."

I nodded to his suggestions, I took my MP-40 off my shoulder and cocked it, leaving my Kar-98 slung over my shoulder.

"I'll go to the Crimson Renegades." I said "Since you say they blow and burn up buildings, we could infiltrate the Lucky 38, set explosives in the base and reactors." I paused

"And...Kaboom" I finished.

"Are you [censored] kidding me? Seriously. Are you [censored] kidding me? Infiltrate the Lucky 38? Those Elders sure did pick a dumb [censored]. I would like to see you try getting anywhere near the Lucky 38 without thirty Securitrons with there guns pointed on you waiting for you to do something silly. Theres only one entrance into that tower, trust me I know. But thats two people out of nine who want to side with the Renegades, so what do you others think?" asked Mark.

John Sakin

After the somewhat "interesting" time with the Elder, they headed to Freeside. It was even worse off than when John had come with his remaining family.

Mark spoke up. There's only one entrance into that tower, trust me I know. But that's two people out of nine who want to side with the Renegades, so what do you others think?"

John thought about his time working as Mr. Black's personal assassin. It was easy and paid well, before the betrayal and killing of Kirren. If John had it his way, Mr. Black would be killed, and it seems like John had his wish after all. But infiltration of the Lucky 38 would be quite difficult.

"The Lucky 38...it's a tower, built simply as a casino but with a perfect design. Only one working entrance means we'd either have to climb 30 stories to infiltrate it or funnel in the main entrance. Even with Stealth Boys, a door mysteriously opening would attract a LOT of attention..."

John continued with his basic knowledge of the Lucky 38, not much, but still useful.

"Inside the tower would be at least 50 Securitrons patrolling. But having one main entrance is good in its own right. We can slip in very easily if a major distraction alerts the bulk of the Securitrons. When the doors opens, we can slip in. But that's only a theory. Mr. Black may be aware of this, in which case we'd have to rethink the strategy."

"Even if we somehow get inside Mr. Black has the ability to shut down the elevator, and I am quite sure House but a panic room in that tower. Either way we'd be screwed. He would let us stay in there until we died of starvation. I believe the best plan would be to get Mr. Black out of the tower. Remember he ain't House. He leaves the place. But if you guys want to try to get in and fight a billion Securitrons then go ahead, I'll be waiting for Black to leave the tower."

John Sakin

John sighed, the moment would've come sooner or later. Better sooner than later. He took a deep breath as he recollected the memories, but decided that telling it in detail wasn't necessary.

"I was on the NCR Top 10 Most Wanted after fleeing NCR territory, I was branded a traitor along with my little sister and girlfriend. Mr. Black gave me an opportunity using the skills I picked up to be one of his many private assassins. But a year later, he believed my work was done. He...killed my girlfriend, Kirren, and almost killed both me and Terra, my younger sister."

Mark presented his own plan. John sighed. "Black will leave the tower, yes. But the Securitrons would dissipate any and all threats by enclosing him. No sniper who isn't flying overhead could get him without alerting the Securitrons."
