The monster that has a floodlight/spotlight as a head. Could that be Leslie's mother?
The way she calls for Leslie, the fact that she does this (in general), and that it is clearly a woman's body, and that she is covered in blood (which is from killed people, though I also interpreted this as possibly referring to a bloody birth due to Leslie being "special" in some way) makes me think this.
I know this is a little bit out there, but... could the Shadow Man (the mysterious guy working for Mobius) be Kidman's dad or someone who is more close to her than being her boss or colleague at Mobius?
There's not a lot of evidence for this, but I thought it was interesting that he calls her "Kid", not Kidman. That would suggest a more intimidate/personal connection, like a friend or family member.
I also noted that everything we experience is inside STEM, even when we are getting ready to go in, which is simply her memory of what happened prior to entering it.
It is cool that Kidman experiences a very different world/environment than Sebastian did. It mostly consists of what I presume is the Mobius HQ and the more normal enemies are Mobius employees (they are the enemies because of the idea of betrayal, which is one of the questions the Shadow Man asks her about as she enters STEM). Could this somehow be connected to Kidman's future decision to "betray" Mobius? How could the Shadow Man know this?
A few little things I noted.
Laura (non-Monster) is actually in the The Assignment. She can be found in the room after you use your flashlight to reveal the pieces of STEM documents and diagrams. If you go straight ahead and look through the door that is malfunctioning (it opens a bit and then closes repeatedly), you will see Laura standing there as she moves closer and closer with each opening of the door, eventually disappearing and then revealing a room full of boxes and other blockages that weren't there when she was there.
Kidman's "safe zone" is a comfy seat and a cute cat wearing a red ribbon. Does this lend any more significance to Sebastian's safe zone with the nurse and the hospital rooms? Could Sebastian really be a patient in Beacon Mental Hospital?
You'll also note that after saving at one of the save points, if you don't get up, you'll see a walking figure (enemy) behind you that disappears when you get up and look behind you. This happened in my second playthrough, so it isn't bug or me seeing something that wasn't there. How creepy!
There's an inkwell on the Shadow Man's desk at the beginning. This is the same as the one that you use to save during the main game. Is this just the devs using a ready-made model or could it have some story significance?
I'd love to hear what everyone else has to say about this and discuss theories and anolysis of things in the game.
