the automatic update through steam made things more difficul

can some of you relate with me on this? okay..

yesterday i started a new topic simply stating the troubles i was experiencing in the gameplay, which includes massive framerate stutter when im walking in the wasteland (even when reading 60 fps) to the point where it causes a headache to look at, the sky cuts in and out, character animations slow down and stutter when i run or walk, i can only asign one shot in v.a.t.s. even when my AP if full (very.. very annoying) and textures malfunctioning or not loading. i know this is no new news, but last night i tried that d3d9.dll (or whatever) patch from new vegas nexus, and ill tell you what, it wasnt perfect, but it made it a HUNDRED times better.. i was actually able to sit down and play and actually enjoy it for a good few hours before work. however, this afternoon steam automatically "updated" fallout new vegas, since then, it has gone back to running just as horrible as it was before the .dll fix. worried that the .dll file was conflicting with the new vegas automatic update through steam, i decided to cover all of my tracks as i completely uninstalled new vegas, reinstalled it and played with the automatic steam update patch only ( not with the .dll fix) and what do ya know? still runs like crap. i would like to know if this patch actually did ne thing for ne one? So now ever since the update, new vegas runs like crap regaurdless if the .dll fix is in my new vegas folder or not. i would have rather not been forced to download an udpate when the .dll fix was working fine for me. With my system specs (below) a game like new vegas should have its balls handed to it. has ne one else who used to .dll fix noticed the same thing i did? and does anybody know if they're working on a patch that will actually make this game playable? does any one have any suggestions?

Windows 7 64 bit
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R motherboard
12g RAM 1333 mhz in triple channel
i7 quad-core 2.8 ghz
nvidia gtx480 gpu / nvidia gts 450 for dedicated physx (for the 2 out of 50 games i have that use physx lol)
1 TB western digital caviar black (2 in raid 0)

i am at work and will checking in on this post periodically, if anyone has ne useful suggestions or want to share your experiences i would be happy to be educated

The last patch made my game unplayable. Unless you consider 2-4 minutes until it crashes and screeches like a banshee that just sat on a rattler then blue screen of death playable. I had the bugs somewhat half-@ssed sorted out here thanks to the customers. But now it's all for nothing. I had 6 hours without incident yesterday thanks to the costumers. The patch just gave me more headaches.

PLEASE, make the patches down-loadable and optional. Not steam-force-fed down our gullet. Reinstalling is pointless as Steam would just cram the new patch back on again.

So far the 2nd patch has effected my performance some in a negative way but the .dll fix is still holding strong for me.
It seems I've got a small drop in fps and there is more momentary freezes when walking through the wasteland.

Really hope these performance issues get ironed out soon for everyone's sake. I can understand some bugs getting
through to release date but the performance issue should have been addressed before the game hit shelves.
Not to mention people are having issues reclaiming their weaponry after entering Tops Casino.
I've been at that part of the main story quest for a while now and have yet to enter the casino in fear of
losing the weapons I've acquired.

EDIT:
I will say though, even though i don't agree with the fact the game was released like this, it's good to see
that they are releasing patches quickly to knock some of the bigger issues.
I'm glad the auto saves are working now just in case a crash or something happens.
