Hi guys, this is my first fan fiction ever for anything and I wanted to start out with a pretty detailed back story.
This is written by Nami Saidu roughly 100 years after the events of skyrim (but it is obviously about the boy's past). It is written in a story format, but if you guys like this, the actual events in Skyrim will be in journal entries. Hope you guys enjoy! Here goes...
P.s. I have absolutly no idea if I am posting this wrong. Tell me if I should change anything for the next time plz!
The Life and Beginnings of Nami Saidu
My name is Nami Saidu. I’m currently in exile. My own people left me out to rot. I am what many call an “ashlander”, although I feel as if that is a dirty word. I come from the island in Morrowind called Solstheim. I am a natural mischievous troublemaker, with a very unusual lust for pain. Not mine, of course. But those around me. I used to sit on the shores of Solstheim and break the legs of many ash hoppers. I would then watch as they slowly died from the excruciating pain. Yes, I was a cruel child. Malevolent, some might say. Yet I never let it show.
My greatest talent, though, was stealth. Even as a child, I could sneak up on any guard in Raven Rock and cut their coin purses from their belts. This subterfuge, though, was not always in my possession. It was my gift from the great daedric prince Nocturnal, who bedded me when I was only a boy of 10. From then on, I was loyal to her. I did her bidding. Steal this, eavesdrop on them, poison that. But one day she came to me with my greatest assignment that I was more than happy to undertake.
She came to me in the form of a raven. I was sitting on the ledge of the well in the square of Raven Rock, when She flew down in front of me and perched on a near by bench. The bird looked up at me with pitch black eyes, and a beak soaked in blood. The dark raven opened it’s mouth and I heard Her whisper.
“Hello, my child. I come to you with a proposition of great proportions. I shall grant you the means of achieving great riches, young one. Your destiny is great. I can make you a powerful figure, yet there is a cost. You must leave everything behind. Your friends, family, even your House must be renounced.
“Exactly 13 years from now you must travel by sea to Skyrim and join a loyal disciple of mine and destroy a great evil.” She raised her voice into a commanding tone, “Now go now with my gift. Train and grow into the great shadow that you are destined to become. But remember one thing, he who is closest shall inevitably cause you the most harm.” and She was gone, as if the raven was but a shadow from the sky above.

I honed my skills through those years, waiting and wanting for my destiny. I told no one of my encounter, nor my new found skills. It had to be a secret for myself and my Lady. I didn’t much worry about leaving my family and House Redoran behind. They looked down on me, for I could not wield an axe or a sword in open combat as well as my peers. They shunned me for this. I was a very vain child, as well. I was the champion of Nocturnal, after all. I didn’t need a sword nor a set of armor. I could snatch the very armor off of anyone in all of Solstheim without them even knowing, or slit their throat in public without even drawing attention to myself. Nocturnal's gift made me a near expert at sneaking. Whenever I crept around the inn, I didn’t even trigger the traps for the skeevers and ash hoppers. No, I was definitely the best thief on the island.
The only thing that bothered me was how I was going to leave. People would surely stop me from abandoning the House, for Raven Rock was greatly unmanned. They found use for everybody, even the “ungifted ones” such as myself. Surely my Lady of Shadows would lead me to my destiny.
And she did, on the night before my 23rd name day. I was particularly hungry, so I decided to grab some ash yams from the local farmer. I stole from him so often, that his low wares were driving him out of business. I didn’t much care, though. Such peasants were beneath me.
After I had successfully gotten my bounty, something happened. I had lost my gift given my Nocturnal. “This is your destiny young one. I must revoke your talents until you earn them again and further prove your loyalty for me. This is not an oegnithr*, as you might think, but a good change. A necessary change” and Her voice was gone. I had no choice but to allow myself to get caught, for after she took my stealth away, I had nothing left. I was common. Ugh, such a filthy thing to be.
As soon as my encounter with the Mistress of the Night had ended, the guards caught me and found all of the goods I had stolen from various people around Raven Rock. They soon uncovered the truth about how I was driving Garyn Ienth out of business, and how I was steering the settlement into a deep recession. My pilfering just added to the loss of the ebony in the mines. The local officials had no choice but to exile me to another land, and strip me of everything I owned.
I couldn’t have been happier.
