The Ballistic Weave armor mod

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2016 3:42 am

I did all three jackpot missions but I'm not sure if I got the ballistic weave armor mod yet. I spoke to tinker tom. How can I confirm that I got the mod? Is there a way to find out if I have it or not?

Best way is to try to use it. Take a MM uni, dirty fatigues, etc. to an armor station and give it a shot.

Admiral is right. You can just try to use armor bench. I think there is a bug with getting this mod. I did all RR missions I could and did not get the mod, had to use console commands.

I used the way from wikia

"Due to the dialog flag setting, it is possible to miss the chance of learning this mod. Drummer Boy will keep telling you Tinker Tom wanted to see you but Tinker Tom won't initiate the corresponding dialogue. Console command SetStage 5BC93 260 will fix this.

One may also get this mod without doing P.A.M.'s mission by typing

Set RailroadClothingArmorModAvailable to 1

Set RailroadClothingArmor_ChanceNone to 0

in the console."

I used way 1, it was exactly my case. I went to RR HQ, used this command and tried to speak to Tinker Tom again. He had no specific dialog option so I thought it did not work. But I went to check on armor station and found out that I got the mod.

Never had a problem with this on Xbox 1 -- did it again just last night, and actually this time it unlocked after only the first DIA cache, rather than the second, as in previous playthroughs. Set up Mercer Safehouse, report back, retrieve DIA, boom. Difference this time was I hadn't actually yet spoken to Tom and didn't even have any MILA quests active.

Beauty of a mod, though. I hardly ever wear PA anymore, unless I'm going into the Glowing Sea or an especially hairy interior location. :tops:

I always place all those MILA things for Tom...
At some point (I think after placing three of four) it gives you the Weave.
Don't think it has anything to do with Jackpot missions.

Amazing to read about players with all kinds of problems with stuff.
All working the console and trying to 'fix' things!
But I guess when things work properly, you might never hear about that, heheh...
Every facet of this game (600+ hours) has always functioned flawlessly for me.

It is definitely the first jackpot mission that unlocks the Weave. After you complete the mission, Drummer Boy will tell you to talk to Tom.

Tom, in turn, mentions that you found some "crazy isht" but that the "creme de la creme" is "ballistic polymer weave" .

Once he says that, you have it unlocked.

Of course, this is for a bugless playthrough, haven't had this not work for me.

Did you write the full command? It is easy to miss, but the to is part of the command :)

Set RailroadClothingArmorModAvailable to 1

Set RailroadClothingArmor_ChanceNone to 0

You don't even need to wait for Drummer Boy to talk to you. And yes, it's the first Jackpot mission that unlocks it, then you just have to talk to Tinker Tom. It's never been any different, always assuming no bugs occur.
