"The Bathing Mod v2"...An update?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:05 pm

New!: 04-19-2011
I have converted the mod into a master file to improve mod compatibility.
I have also done likewise with the Balmora Expansion version.

The Fylberding patch for the BE version is still required, and has also been updated.
It will now enable the Cold Spring in the Bath House to add the bonus effect of the normal Hlaalu baths when used.
(Previously, if you bathed with the Cold Spring, you would not recieve any special bonus, unlike the other Hlaalu public baths.)

Also included with the BE version is a fixed copy of Balmora Expansion's ".esp" file
The copy of BE's ".esp" file available on PES originally had an error in it's "required master file" settings.

Lastly, the addons for the "Ascadian Rose Cottage", and the "Provincial Bath Shoppe" are all still fully compatible with both new versions of this mod.
(The rose cottage addon is also fully compatible with my "Ascadian Rose Cottage DX".) ;)

The PES download page can be found here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8304

Note:
A mod by Stuporstar, called "Uvirith's Legacy", is designed for compatibility with this mod.
However, due to a small error in that mod, this mod's wooden bathtubs will not work if both mods are used together.

I've tried to contact Stuporstar about this, but she is presently unavailable.
For now, the two mods are to be considered as not fully compatible.

With both mods, you'll still be able to bathe in some areas, but not everywhere.

Further note:
As with my previous release, PES's downloads are not quite working just yet.
I will post again as soon as I know they are.

My apologies in advance for any inconvienience. -_-

One last update:
I have fixed the compatibility issue with Uvirith's Legacy.
To do so, I have added a new plugin to the download page, "Stinkers v2 - Mod Compatibility.esp".

If you are using a mod made to be compatible with The Bathing Mod v2, such as Uvirith's Legacy is, then use this also.
Make sure that this is set AFTER any Bathing Mod compatible mods on the plugin loader, and they'll work as intended.

For example:
[Game Files]
GameFile0=Morrowind.esm
GameFile1=Tribunal.esm
GameFile2=Bloodmoon.esm
GameFile3=Stinkers.esm
GameFile4=Uvirith's Legacy_Final_2.0.esp
GameFile5=Stinkers v2 - Mod Compatibility.esp

The Modder's Resource itself has also been updated.
As usual though, the PES downloads for these are not yet ready.

I'll post again when they are.

Gaius? I have noticed a small problem - not a bug. So far, everything works fine. However, the latest patch that is listed here - for UL and, I'm guessing, other mods that are supposed to be compatible - has no readme or explanation on download or in the name. Since I read this thread along with readme's, I know what it's for. But, I'm thinking other people who just see the update to the Bathing mod might be confused on when to use it. Most patches must have BOTH mods in question installed and loaded before the patch. So, with only the esp in the download and no description of when to use it, I'm thinking many users will pass it by. Is there any chance you could add a small text based readme to the download package so people will be sure what it is and when to use it?

(I'm also afraid that once I move on to some other game and then come back to Morrowind, which I always do, I too, will forget just which one is for which use.)

I'll look into it tomorrow.

OK... There you go.
I've added a simple readme to explain the usage and function of the plugin.

The PES download is, as usual, not ready yet.
I'll post again when it is. :)

Again, thank you, Gaius. I've downloaded, but I won't install since I already installed the other. But now, I'll remember which does what in the future. You have no idea how much that helps.

One question, though - or maybe two. I also loaded Provincial Bath Shoppe so that I could add my own bathtub to an older house mod that I use. That's not a problem though it was a bit of trouble figuring out how to align the tub, water, etc. However, when I use that tub, I can take a bath, but I don't get the option to use any of the soaps in my inventory. (I'm carrying both public bath soaps and some I bought in the Bath Shoppe.) Do you know, perhaps, if the Bath Shoppe is designed to work in that way?

Also, the only wooden bath tub in the UL stronghold that I've found is the one in the same room as the pool, but it doesn't work as a tub. However, the water animation works. Is this one, perhaps, more of a basin? So far, I've found no use for the basins other than to admire the animation once I installed The Bathing Mod. It would be fun if one could use them for quicky "spit baths" for a one day use - just so they would be useful.

Also, just for information's sake, I did have to disable a tree blocking the lower entrance to the public bath house in Balmora. Not a problem, I'm getting good at that. I use Vality's Balmora additions, just in case anyone else asks. And, consoling "disable" works fine to fix it. I also had to disable a duplicate of the Bath Shoppe lady. Otherwise, no problems found. This is turning out to be a fun addon. Thankyou again for all your work on it and my usual genuflecting to Korana. I love ALL of her work. And, deep thanks to the original creators of The Bathing Mod, too.

Oops. Now I need to rate the mod on PES.

It seems like you might be using both bath shoppe plugins.
Remember, mine is to be used instead of the original.
Don't use both, or you'll get errors like doubling.

OK. Now I'm confused. There is the compatibility esp between Provincial Bath Shoppe and Stinkers mentioned here and then there is the original Provincial Bath Shoppe esp that comes with that mod. We don't need both installed?

You're welcome. ^_^

Now that I have this project cleared, as well as my other recent updates, I'm moving on to my next project.
I received a request over PM, and I've decided to follow through on it.
It's currently in early pre-production, and won't be ready for quite some time, though.

I will post a new topic for it when it is ready, but for now, it's a surprise... ;)

I'm sorry, Gaius. I've found one small problem that I didn't notice right away. Since I loaded The Bathing Mod, all my NOM water animations are gone and the barrels don't show any water at all. I'm assuming this has to do with load order. Do you have any suggestions about what should go before or after any of the Bathing Mod esps that could possibly affect this? (I'm thinking between NOM 3.3, Ascadian Rose CottageDX, and The Bathing Mod. The last two are recently added and the only thing affected that I've noticed is NOM.)

Hmm, I haven't seen that happen before...

Try this load order:
1.) The Bathing Mod
2.) Ascadian Rose Cottage DX
3.) The Rose Cottage/Bathing Mod addon
4.) NOM v3

Also, optionally:
5.) Lite Beer!

NOM should always go dead last in your load order, but if you use my Lite Beer! mod, put that after NOM.
(Which would place NOM at the second-to-last position.)

As a rule NOM should always go last in your load order.
I only mentioned my Lite Beer! mod because it is a rare exception to that rule.

Hopefully this will help you. ^_^

Sorry for the lag. I'm having to redo several quests I completed some time ago and I'm trying to run through them again as quickly as I can.

Anyway, I have changed the order of the Ascadian Rose Cottage and Stinkers esms. NOM has always been last in my load list (with only the water level mod below it). Now, I see that the barrel in the Ashlander tent still shows no water, but it will "fill" my bottles and waterbags. Most other barrels seem to show water, but have no animations. Wells still have no animations, but they mostly have water in them. The one noticeable change from this: I now have animated water in my UL stronghold basins, etc. again. :)

I'm beginning to wonder if my problem goes much deeper than I thought. And, I'm not in the mood ATM to start uninstalling, re-installing all my mods to find out which is fooling with my animations just so I can see the water move about. I have slightly over 130 of them going, though I will be removing 4 or 5 as soon as I can figure out a way to do so without causing severe problems to my current game.

Thank you for your help, Gaius. If you come up with anything else I can try, please let me know.

You're welcome. :)
I can't think of anything else to do with one of my mods that might have caused this...

Hmm... Could you post your plugin loadout?
In case you aren't familiar with that, set up your mods, then open "Morrowind.ini".
Scroll down to the list of plugins, highlight the whole list, then copy/paste it into your post.
You should place the list in a quote box, like I've done with these instructions.
Not that you needed to know this, but if you did, there you go.

This way, maybe someone will notice if there is a known issue with one of your mods.
(Or a combination of certain mods if used together, whichever.)

Also, what mesh or texture replacements are you using?
You may be using something that effects the animations in other ways...
