The Battle for Hill 23

Post » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:56 pm

Ok so along time ago, me and another guy who no longer visits these forums, SideWynder0, created a Rp where you play as the Enclave rather the BOS or a Wastelander. It was very successful to a point, then everything quickly slowed to a halt, and it died. But today is a new day, and I'am bringing another Enclave instalment to the Fallout Forums. This will be similar to how Battle for Hill 56 started, so I hope you all like it.

Back Story

Hill 23 had become a hotspot similar to how Hill 56 was in the past. A group of BOS Knights and Paladins, along with a small contingent of Militia from the nearby settlment of Harlow were giving them trouble. The Enclave stationed on Hill 23 were mean't to observe and report on the activities in Harlow, and they did just that. At first it was fine, the settler's of Harlow were poor, and their food was nothing more than radroach and half filled bottles of irratiated water.

Then after a few week's past, a small contingent of BOS Knights arrived on seen, and began causing a problem for the soldiers stationed on Hill 23. Though the Enclave's duty was to observe and report, they did on occasion assist the people of Harlow with food, water, and other essential items to survive. But the BOS Knights changed all that when they arrived. It started out as a usual day for the Enclave soldiers in Harlow. Colonel Hawthorn commander of Hill 23 ordered a group of soldiers to go and give food to the people in Harlow. And as they were doing just that, the BOS Knights who had entered the settlement from another entrance, began firing on the seven Enclave troopers, killing two, and injuring three others. The Enclave troopers fought back, but were forced to leave as it was a highly low chance that they would be able to hold out until reinforcements. That was not the case, the BOS Knights kicked the Enclave out of Harlow after several weeks of intense urban fighting, and the BOS gaining quick reinforcements from some undisclosed base. Know the Knights were also assisted by Paladins and others fromt he base. They quickly built a base inside Harlow, and began informing the people that the Enclave was an evil and vile orginization. The people did not believe the BOS as they had seen what the Enclave had done for them.

They tried to resist against the Knights and Paladins, but it was no use. The BOS quickly squashed the resistance, and has held Harlow under their control since. The people are forced to help the Knights and Paladins destroy the defenders of Hill 23, but little do they accually fight. The fighting had come to a stand still, and this is where the fight will decided if Hill 23 falls as Hill 56 had or stands strong against the vile BOS Knights and Paladins that hold Harlow under an Iron grip.

Current State of things on Hill 23

The morning was warm and calm. The frequent patrols in and out of Hill 23 were going smoothly as they usually did. All the Enclave soldiers stationed at Hill 23 were either patrolling, eating or resting. There wasn't alot to do on Hill 23 for entertainment, but the past battle on Hill 56 a few months ago had somewhat brought fear and realization to the soldiers stationed on Hill 23. They had heard stories and rumor's of Hill 56 being the last stand for the Enclave soldiers stationed there. They had also heard that the defenders held out for three weeks or more, and then were forced to evacuate Hill 56 after a large group of Wastelanders and BOS supporters, assaulted the base with full force. Everyone knew that the last defenders had escaped, but the Enclave High Command in the area lost contact with the two remaining squads that escaped on Vertibirds. The two squads were declared KIA since they had lost contact with the squads in enemy territory.

But this was a new dawn. The defenders of Hill 23 would not suffer the same fate as those on Hill 56, and would fight to the last man to defend what Hill 23 held under it. There were three sections to Hill 23, that were covered with Earth made bunkers, and machinegun nests. Trenches ran all around Hill 23, and at the bottom, was a large 35ft wall that surrounded the whole hill. Everything on Hill 23 was built into the hill, the three Barracks, the Chow Hut, the Communication Room, the Officer's Hut, and Garbage holes. 245 Enclave soldiers were stationed on Hill 23, and they were ready for action. They were heavily armed, and were supported by another nearby Enclave stronghold, that supported Hill 23 with food, soldiers, and air support. The BOS and people of Harlow continue their daily and nightly rounds of attacks on Hill 23, but they are just probing attacks to find a weakness in the defenses of Hill 23. During the later morning, Lt. Marcus Webster (My Character) sat eating his breakfast before he went out on patrol with his usual squad. Colonel Hawthorn entered the Chow Hut, and approached Lt. Webster as he ate. He gave the Lt. strict orders to fly to Supply Base Alpha, and retrieve some supplies and new recruits. Lt. Webster agreed, and loaded up on the first Vertibird leaving for Supply Base Alpha.

He began his training at age four, starting with basic tactics. He soon became very proficient at deciding course of action. He is now a member of Marcus Webster's tactical squad, and the highest ranking Non-Com on the Hill.

(Non-Com = Non Commisioned, started at Pvt and worked his way up.)

OOC: Ok this is the beginning of the game. Sorry for the length, its just to get things moving. Read ALL of it please.

The Vertibird flew in between the hills and jagged cliffs as it made its way to Supply Base Alpha. Recent attacks from BOS Rocketeer's and other shoulder fire weapon's had made the Vertibirds travelling from Supply Base Alpha to Hill 23, fly low, almost to the ground. 2nd Lt. Webster sat in his standard issued officers uniform as small arms fire ping'ed off the Vertibirds armor. The Vertibirds had been equiped with two side gunners, that could have easier access to hitting small targets on the side's.

"BET YOU NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE HAPPENING DID YOU WEBSTER!" The gunner on the left said as more bullets ping'ed from off the Vertibird.

Webster just smiled, and looked out the window. The pilot was good, his quick reflex's and grace at the controls, quickly got them through the horrid hills that were crawling with BOS and Anti-Americans. Webster couldn't stand how people could stand against though's who were trying to bring America to what it once was, rather a fettered discusting wasteland. He relaxed as they came out of the hills, and could gain some alttitude before they arrived at Supply Base Alpha. The side door's opened, and wind blew through the cabin, but it did not bother Lt. Webster since he was used to blustering wind.

The base quickly came into view as the pilot radioed back to Lt. Webster with the details. The base was 2,000 strong, and was full of pre-war weapons, vehicles, and food. The Enclave scientists had even created fresh unradiated vegetables, and they were quickly dispenced to all Supply Bases around the U.S.

"Sir! I will be taking you back to Hill 23. Once you have your fresh recruits, and supplies. We can get back ASAP!" The pilot said turning the engines of the Vertibird off. Some dusk kicked up, and Lt. Webster ducked the bill of his cap infront of his face as he stepped off the landing platform, and was greeted by the commanding officer of Supply Base Alpha.

"Welcome Lt. Webster to Supply Base Alpha. Home to those fighting on Hill 23, and to the South, Hill 78. Anything you need or want, we can provide. Your commanding officer radioed ahead informing me of your arrival. We have 2,000 new and veteran troops waiting for you. But your commanding officer has told me you also need supplies?" The commanding officer asked. He was nothing more than a wanna-be Enclave Trooper. You could tell that he had tried out to become a front line soldier, but had failed one of the many tests it took to become a front line soldier.

"Yes. I will need three crates of fresh vegetables, water, meat, and two crates of ammunition. I only need a few recruits though, Hill 23 still has its most of its soldiers who were placed on the Hill in the first place. Have all new recruits assemble at this Vertibird, and have the crates of vegetables and others placed on that Vertibird over there. It doesn't look like its being used?" Webster said knocking the bill of his cap up off his forhead.

"No problem Lt. Webster. I will get on that immediatly, and while you wait. Why don't you rest in my office. I think it will be good for you after being on the front for so long! Oh and another thing, I have also been given orders to send some new armor along with you. For your officers that it. Its Tesla Armor! All frontline officers are now required to be wearing Telsa Armor on the front. I will send you with five." The officer said saluting then walking off. He was right about the resting part, but on a map, there was no "Front". These were just scattered hills all over the U.S. that had been deemed "Highly Valuable" by the Enclave higher ups. Webster was not one to disobey an order or question his commanding officers authority or logic, but everyone on Hill 23, including Colonel Hawthorn questioned the Enclave higher up's. Though they kept it in secret, it was more of an inside thing.

Lt. Webster walked into the commanders office, and sat in a nice soft chair. It was pre-war, but it had been fixed up, and looked almost new. The intercom all across Supply Base Alpha crackled with the commanders voice. Webster sat figiting with the commanders desk as he found a box of cigars. They were old and stail, but Lt. Webster thought that he and the other officers on Hill 23, could use a nice box of cigar's. He placed the one cigar in his officer's jacket pocket, and closed the box. Webster walked out of the office, and saw a private just standing around listening.

"Private!" Webster ordered with a sturn voice, "Take this to that Vertibird over there. The one I came in on. Give this to the pilot, and tell him to hide them!" Webster said to the Private with all seriousness.

"Yes sir!" the Private said rushing off to the Vertibird. The commanders voice still echoed through the base.

"ALL WILLING SOLDIERS OF THE ENCLAVE ARE TO REPORT TO LANDING PAD 6 IMMEDIATLY. YOU WILL BE SENT TO HILL 23, AND WILL BE GIVEN ORDERS DIRECTLY FROM LT. WEBSTER! I REPEAT ALL WILLING SOLDIERS OF THE ENCLAVE ARE TO REPORT TO LANDING PAD 6 IMMEDIATLY. YOU WILL BE SENT TO HILL 23, AND WILL BE GIVEN ORDERS DIRECTLY FROM LT. WEBSTER!"

The intercom quieted, and a grouping of new soldiers began to group up over near Lt. Websters Vertibird. After a few minutes, the commander walked over with a old beaten cart being pulled by a Protobot.

"This is your new Armor Lt. Webster! I hope it surves you and the other officers well. Good luck out there, and be safe!"

"Thank you commander. I will, and may the Enclave triumph over though's who dare try to bring down the U.S.A!" The two smiled, and saluted. Then quickly shook hadns. The Protobot followed Lt. Webster to the Vertibird where a cargoman loaded up the new Tesla Armor. Lt. Webster had never warn Telsa Armor, but was excited for it. He had heard what it could do, and he was willing to try it out.

Lt. Webster stood at the top of the Landing pad as at least 50 Enclave troopers stood standing at him. Waiting for their orders. He could not take them all, but he could take a few.

"Soldiers of the Enclave! I'am 2nd Lt. Marcus Webster of Hill 23. I will be one of five of your new commanders while you are visiting Hill 23. Some of you may want to make Hill 23 your home such as I did, some of you may whind-up returning here in a body bag, while others may not be able to handle the stress that has been plaguing Hill 23 for the last few months. Colonel Hawthorn is the highest ranking officer on Hill 23, and even I will be taking orders from him. Now if you are afraid or unknowing to what things will be like, and you are affraid because of that. Turn around RIGHT! now, and wait for another officer or someone to join. But those who are willing for an "Adventure" as you could call it. Stand right here!"

Several troopers stepped out of the crowed, and returned to their bidding before. Lt. Webster was down to 34 Enclave troopers, they would have to do.

"Everyone load-up onto the two Vertibirds, we are leaving!" Lt. Webster said as he hopped into his leading Vertibird. The two Vertibird pilots started the engines, as they watched the Enclave troopers load-up. Lt. Webster sat in the middle seat as the others filled in next to him.

OOC: Ok everyone may now begin to load up onto the two Vertibirds. I will post when the Vertibirds take-off once everyone has posted ONCE.

After withdrawing all of his stuff from his old footlocker, Willy made his way back out to the Vertibird. He held his laser pistol close. Willy loved his laser pistol. He worked on it whenever he could. He wanted its power and accuracy to be highly increased so he could do more damage in a fight. He had called the gun "Chocolate" because it fell in irradiated mud the first day and by the time he got it out the dark mud had dried, giving it the chocolate color. He loaded his stuff with the others and took a seat inside the Vertibird. It was warm and clean inside. There were two rows of seats that were comfy and made Willy want to sit there forever. He loaded his pistol just in case of an ambush and watched as the others took a seat beside him.

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Chris Jacob's last job before moving to the "Front" was to familiarize himself with the officers and team that he would be assigned to at Hill 23. He had seen this as a tactical move seeing as to how he would be quite possibly the highest ranking Non-Com, or "Grunt" on the hill. He had his equipment packed the night before, his shoes polished, and his equipment checked. Now he stood before the Vertibird watching the 2LT call to the troops around him. He had a voice of authority, something that was all too important in this wasteland. When the man had finished he had climbed aboard the vertibird to wait as the troops decided whether they were joining up or not. Chris didn't have a choice, but it didn't matter. He was bored at the supply base. His job here didn't fit his training and expertise. He belonged on the battlefield. He climbed onto the Vertibird labeled Alpha 1-9 and sat adjacent to the 2LT. He saluted smartly and held out his hand in greeting. "I am Sergeant First Class Christopher Jacobs. I have been assigned to your squad sir." He looked at the man for a moment before finishing. "Your reputation pales in comparison to whom you actually are. It is an honor to finally meet you Lieutenant Webster."

Rank: Private 1st Class
Armor: Advanced Power Armor Mark II (The normal enclace one)
Clothes: White T-shirt, long black pants, boots
Weapon: Laser Rifle
Misc: Supplies (Meds, food and water)
Bio: Steven was born in the Enclave, since they were most locked to themselves. His father and mother were scientists, but Steven never had a knach for science and chose to become an Enclave Grunt.

Steven was having a nap when he woke up with the message going on around the base "ALL WILLING SOLDIERS OF THE ENCLAVE ARE TO REPORT TO LANDING PAD 6 IMMEDIATLY....." repeating itself.
He thought "Why not ? I haven't done anything interesting in a few weeks." He stood up and gone to his locket grab his armor. After equiping it with help of his "squire", his scientist friend, he gone to the extraction point. He heard Lt. Webster telling the orders, then he jumped on the second Vertibird, looked on the soldiers there, and said "Hello fellow soldiers. Ready to go through some Wasteland" ?

Corporal Daniels stood up from his bunk as the announcement rang through his head. Another dead-beat grunt job to do. He hated this kind of stuff, but like everyone else he wanted some action. Frank slid his helmet onto his shoulders and locked it on. The powered display shot up and his HUD appeared, his orders shooting down the top left side of the display. Frank payed no attention and keyed in his ID code into the arm pad, confirming the orders and keying in new ones. He typed almost slowly. "Move to landing pad 6 by 0950" Frank grabbed his other gear and tools, taking care to inspect his customized laser rifle. It had burst a battery before, and injured three men, including him. He had put a sliding blast shield on it, keeping acid in and enemy fire out. Frank shouldered it, checked his 10mm mag, and walked out of his cabin towards the pad.

After reaching the pad and finding the 'bird, Frankie stepped in and strapped in next to the Lieutenant. "Corporal Daniels reporting for duty, sir!"

Lieutenant Webster leaned over, and shook the Sergeants hand. He gave a smile, and leaned back into this seat.

"Its nice to meet you Sergeant Jacobs, but you haven't been assigned to any Squad yet. You will have to be put through a small training course me and the other officers have created for all new soldiers coming to Hill 23." Webster continued.

"And what reputation is that Sergeant Jacobs? I haven't heard of any reputation in my time on Hill 23, you will have to bring me up to speed on that!" Lieutenant Webster said smiling at the group that had assembled into the Vertibird. The Vertibird's began to lift off as a Corporal leaned over to Lieutenant Webster, also greeting him in the regular military fashion. Lieutenant Webster did not return the compliment, but just smiled.

"Its nice to meet you Corporal Daniels. There is no need to be so formal with me, I'm layed back on trips. But on the front, I along with the other soldiers and officers are all buisness. Remember that all of you, it will get you through alot up on Hill 23!" Webster said as they began through the hills and gunfire once more. The doors closed, and the echoing of the engines was all that could be heard as bullets ping'ed off the Vertibirds. Lieutenant Webster sat back in his seat relaxed as they flew quick and low through the hills and gunfire. Some of the recruits were nervous, but that was usual for them. Lieutenant Webster was the same when he had come to Hill 23, and was pinned down under enemy gunfire for the first time. He had not enjoyed it, but he did not let it bother him either.

The Vertibirds quickly shot through the hills that were held by BOS Rocketeer's and other shoulder fire weapons. The rest was going to be easy, small arms fire was nothing to a Vertibird. They coasted through most of it as Hill 23 came into view. It had been pounded by heavy enemy weapons during the Lieutenants absence, but was still in working order. Smoke rose from hill, some things seemed to have been damaged during the fighting, but nothing to serious that couldn't be fixed. Lieutenant Webster had to yell over the echoing Vertibird engines.

"DOWN THERE IS YOUR NEW HOME BOYS! DON'T BE TO SCARED OR THE OTHERS WILL SNIFF IT OUT ON YOU! AND THEY WON'T BE GENTLE ABOUT IT EITHER!" Webster said as the Vertibird began its encirclement of the base as the pilot waited for the go ahead to land. Webster continued.

"HILL 23 IS THE CLOSEST THING TO HELL ON EARTH IN THE WASTELAND. AND BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT HILL SITE 56! THE MEN ARE TOUCHY ON THAT SUBJECT. SOME OF THE MEN THAT FELL ON HILL 56 HAVE FAMILY OR FRIENDS STATIONED HERE. I WOULD JUST KEEP IT TO YOURSELFS IF I WERE YOU!" Webster's voice was horse, and he took a gulp of clean water that he had carried with him.

The Vertibird lowered to the ground, and gently landed on the pad. The other Vertibird quickly did the same, and all the new recruits assembled before Colonel Hawthorn, and the other Officers including Lieutentant Webster. Colonel Hawthorn began speaking in his course rough voice.

"You are all new to Hill 23, and I just want to tell you one thing. Watch everything around you. Things have heated up around here, and the Brotherhood of Steel had been causing us more problems than we need, we lost 12 good men earlier, and I will not tolerate anymore serious losses. You 8 are assigned to Captain Oliver's squad, you 10 are going to be reservists. You will be assigned a squad when needed. The rest are with Lieutenant Webster. Treat him good, and he will do the same!" Colonel Hawthorn smiled at Webster, and walked off with the rest of the officers and soldiers as they unloaded the Vertibirds. The pilot of Websters Vertibird handed Colonel Hawthorn the stale cigar's, Hawthorn smiled, and placed them under his arm.

The rest stood with Lieutenant Webster. "Everyone follow me to your new quarters. You will be staying at the lavished and ultra-sleek Barracks 2-2-5. Everything you could need or want is in here!" Webster opened the door, and it was nothing but empty beds, footlockers, and closets. Webster smiled and started to laugh as they all walked in.

"Take your spots, and then report to the South wall over there." Webster pointed to the Southern defensive wall, and continued. "Once you are all settled in, meet me there. I will give you further orders until then... Oh and one more thing, be fully suited up before you leave this barracks!"

Lieutenant Webster walked out, and returned to the Officers Hut where his bed was. He rested on it, and realized that his new Tesla Armor was laying next to his footlocker. He got geared up, and took a gulp of the officers whiskey bottle, and pulled out his cigar lighting it. He walked down to the Southern Wall, and waited for the new recruits to join up.

Sergeant First Class Jacobs entered barracks 225 behind the rest of the group. He carried two duffel bags, one with his armor and the other with various tools and equipment. He dropped his supplies on the bunk nearest to the back wall. It was also next to a small closet that could hold up a single set of battle armor and contain his duffels. He looked back at the troops, almost daring them to contest him over possesion. Upon seeing a lack of attention he found himself satisfied. He quickly switched into his type seven battlewear and loaded up on his gear.

A drop sling hung from his shoulder and connected to a P90C. It was modified with a Red dot sight and tactical flashlight. The barrel of this small rifle tapped against his waist holster with held a M92F Beretta complete with laser dot aiming assisstance. On his other hip he had a pouch that contained three extra "Hi-Cap" mags for his rifle, and six extended clips for his handgun. This all was attached to his Type 7 battlearmor. It was basically a sniper/scout's cut down version of the standard issue MARK II. This set had no pauldrons or helmet lock which allowed for greater flexibility and vision. It was also made of a lighter Poly-carbonate which was slightly darker and glossier in color. The main advantage of this armor was its repulsive plating. It had a unique ability that the BOS had not been able to implement into their own armor. Laser bursts were practically absorbed into the armor and spread evenly. This allowed for less of a concentrated impact and allowed for the armor to last longer overall. The downside was its lack of basic protection. Chris didn't see it as an issue, however, as his strategy involved not getting shot in the first place.

When he had finished arming himself and organizing his gear he left the barrracks and moved towards the South Wall. He was one of the first soldiers to arrive, and had the opportunity to get an idea of what he would be facing. The wall looked out upon a series of rolling hills that the BoS would have little to no trouble attacking from. Aside from the constant danger it had provided a nice view. Chris imagined that a sunset from this position would be quite a spectacle. He stood there patiently, waiting for the rest of the squad to arrive, and watching the clouds creep by.

OOC: Vault 77 this mainly applies to you but it is a good review for anyone who is new. The basic rules of a Role Play on these forums includes creating a respectable and realistic character sheet that meets the Original Poster's requirements. This "Char Sheet" must then be sent to the OP via Personal Message for approval. Once it has been approved you must wait until the OP has given you permission to post. Once this has begun you should start detailing the events that your character witnesses. Posting Rules include no character controlling, (EX. You forcing my guy to say or do something without my permission) no Ubering, (Sniping ten guys in a row from three miles away with a potato cannon.) or Double Posting (Posting two comments in a row.) To put it simply use common sense in any and all opportunities. Sorry for the long rant-post, but I figured I would get everything done in one shot.

Name: Charles "Charly" Winters
Rank: Private
Armor: Advanced Power Armor Mark 2(with ammunition backpack)
Clothes: Dirty gray T-shirt with Rob-Co jacket, blue jeans, light brown boots
Weapon: Laser Rifle, Frag grenades, Frag mines
Misc: BOS Holotag of his cousin, Barry, Picture of mother
Bio: Charly joined the Enclave because he thought he was finally showing his old man that he truly is a man and no longer a child. Charly grew up in a family that seemed to worship the ideals of the BOS. After having a very abusive childhood it came that time where he had to decide to work on the family farm or with the BOS like his father, Joseph, and brother, James. James was the most well liked by his father so naturally his dad would always consider Charly a little child unless he joined the BOS and surpassed his brother in every way, but Charly decided otherwise and joined the Enclave.

Frankie walked towards the back of the tent and sat on the bed opposite the SFC. He pulled out his laser rifle and fiddled with the blast sheild. Something had jammed it and caused it to not slide proporly, so he was going to work on that until he was called upon.

OOC: Short post :nono: I've been busy. I might not be able to post tomorow sooo....

Willy was fooling with his pistol getting ready to head to the south wall. After gearing up he headed over. The hill seemed heavily fortified. There turrets built in to the hill. He also noticed the trenches were well placed. He didn't think that a group of BOS soldiers could attack and capture this place. Even though that had occurred on hill 56. He saw the wall up ahead and continued on.

After getting off one of the last few vertibirds Charly was in total shock at how amazing the hill looked. He thought it was the biggest hill he had ever seen. Of course he hadnt seen much of the wasteland since he had only joined the Enclave sortly after his 18 birthday.

The wall loomed over the rest of the hill. He could make out a small town quite far away, but he payed no attention. Lieutenant Webster was over not far ahead. Willy stumbled down the hill until he reached the point where the wall connected with the hill. He walked up the worn out steps and walked along the wall. There was brown all down the hill. Dead trees seemingly sprouted everywhere and he could make out a few scout outposts. He walked over to Lieutenant Webster and saluted. He saluted back and looked back over the hill. Willy walked over to a bench built into the wall and sat down. He took out "Chocolate" and started working on it. The pistol now could hold 30 energy cells due to him fiddling around with it whenever he had time. He took out a fission battery and tried to attach it to the pistols conducter. He hoped that he could increase the pistols energy release without overpowering it and risking it to have an energy explosion. That could take his hand of. After failing to get it on he packed it away and walked up to the wall. He could see the others had started making their way to the hill.

OOC: Reidster, you do know this is the Wasteland. Its brown, grimmy, dirty, and depressing.

IC

Lieutenant Webster walked over to the Private sitting on the piece of rubble they used for a "bench". Webster stood over the young recruit, and grabbed him furiously. Webster stood the recruit up to his feet, and violently threw him to the ground, back to Websters feet. The private's laser pistol fell beside him, he seemed shocked at Lt. Websters act.

"Get the [censored] in line you piece of [censored]! I'm not tolerating any slacking in this unit. You stand in line with the others or I'll have you put on "Bait" duty for your short and miserable life on this hill. NOW GET IN LINE!!" Webster yelled in furry.

Webster was glad to see one person already in line, but wondered where the others were. He had ordered them to meet him on the Southern Wall once they got situated into their bunks.

"Where the hell is your other friend. We have a training operation to be doing. I can't just wait for you morons to be called on. BOTH OF YOU GET THAT [censored] OUT HERE NOW!!" Webster yelled once more. He turned around, and waited for the others to join.

OOC: My bad I'm not thinking straight right now. I edited.

Willy was surprised at the Lieutenants actions. I might need to report this. I didn't think higher rankings would be like this... Willy picked up his pistol and walked over to where the other soldier was. He stood there waiting. The other soldiers walking down the hill took their time and he could tell the Lt. was getting even more angry. After waiting he saw the others walk up the same steps he had walked up. A few took their place in line. A few others did what he did and got sharply yelled at. Willy could just make out the town better now. He knew it might be were the brotherhood were. He shook at the thought. He felt safe with the Enclave. They were mostly ill-tempered grumps but he could learn to deal with it. Colonel Hawthorn seemed like a smart man. He had not received his new set of Tesla Armor yet. He wanted it. He was afraid that since he was a private he was not eligible. He hoped not. The energy in the armor could help "Chocolate" immensely.

Frankie had figured out what was wrong. The door for his batteries had been forced open somehow, and pushed back in. Using a rock and flat piece of steel, Frank was able to hammer out the dents so that the door shut properly, and that the shield slid correctly. Noticing everyone had left, he stood up and clipped his helmet back into place. The HUD popped up and Frank walked out of the tent. The mask took its sweet time readjusting to the quick change of lighting. The change of air quality also stuck a notice under the vitals. The air was thinner, being higher up. Frank thought he was likely to get headaches faster up here. He strolled down the hill behind the others and waited for orders.

After finally finding his quarters, Charly opened the door and saw another particulary young man sitting on one of the bunks.

"Hello the name is Private Charles Winters, but most people call me Charly. What your name?" said Charly cheerfully.

After ingoring Charly the man continued to fiddle with his laser pistol. Charly then remebered his orders to go on down to the Southern Wall to meet Lt. Webster. Cahrly quickly grabbed all his gear and his backpack.

"Nice chatting with you." Said Charly before heading out to the Southern Wall.
