The Bedroll Shop Problem

Post » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:47 am

Anyone else with this or a similar problem.
Is there a fix...I assume it's the scripts that broke somehow????

Using "The Bedroll Shop" in an ongoing game. Suddenly the bedrolls do not allow one to pick them up or to sleep.
Also have "dave humphrey's furniture stores" installed as well and the furniture stopped being able to be moved at the same time
the bedrolls went Kaput....

It could be a mod conflict if you have added some mods recently, so it might help to see your load order, if you could post that.

Thanks!
I have a lot ...
This is from the morrowind.ini but it is not the order in which they appear in Wyre Mash.

Is there a way to export the load list?
from morrowind or from wyre mash?

Is there a way to export the load list?
from morrowind or from wyre mash?

http://sites.google.com/site/johnmoonsugar/Home/getting-help-with-morrowind.

It does seem odd that both the bedrolls and furniture would stop working all at once. The bedrolls use a very simple script with a pretty unique name: "1jw_tbs_bedroll"
You could try searching your plugins for that string with an application like http://www.inforapid.de/html/searchreplace.htm.
Also, you might try putting down a bedroll, open the console click on the bedroll and type the "sv" command to show the script variables for that object.
Like FallenWizard recommends, you might want to run mlox on your plugins and sort out problems it finds. (it gives better advice when run locally).

@FallenWizard

Thanks so much for the detailed info.
I'm always afraid to change things once I have something working but
I guess I really should.

Possibly a stupid question - What is mlox?

Thanks

Because I am a lazy bastard, I will just copy/paste the description here.

mlox is designed to help people manage large collections of plugins for the popular Elder Scrolls games from Bethesda Softworks.

mlox sorts plugins based on a very simple set of ordering rules that comprise a partial order over the set of plugins using a standard topological sort.

mlox also provides advice on plugin conflicts, missing pre-requisites, and general information of interest based on the user's particular set of plugins.

@MoonSugar

will try this
I did look at the bedroll script and was surprised at how simple it was
Did open the console in game and tried just typing in pieces of the script
I was able to get the menu (to choose to REST or PICKUP)
but when clicked nothing executed...

Much Thanks Vi

That just means to run it on your machine, in the usual fashion, by clicking on mlox.exe. Dong so will provide a slightly more accurate anolysis than the one FallenWizard posted, since he does not have access to your system (just the list of plugins you posted).

@Moonsugar

Thanx for reply...just a(nother) dumb mistake on my part... :blush2:

When I first loaded the mlox program in the pane for
"plugin load" nothing was appearing...and I got a long error message that kept saying (0) plugins....
so I thought there was something I wasn't doing...

REALIZED just a bit ago ... that I had the wrong wxpython (installed for wyre mash and thought it was correct for mlox)

Just got it working

Thanx again
