It would be a big stretch if there were Behemoths.... The Mariposa FEV strain isn't known to produce them. Mariposa/West Coast Supermutants tend to keep the same size and grow senile as they age.

I doubt that, the behemoth was most likely a effect exclusive to the FEV strand at the East coast. Plus it′s another thing that feels Fallout 3 exclusive, like Liberty Prime.

But hey no official word so who knows.

It shouldn't be there, I know, and I hope it isn't because it was such a stupid design. But that doesn't mean that it isn't, so does anyone know more about this... like a dev maybe?

I really, really, really hope not. All you had to to was back up beside a building, then unload on it.

I know, it's like it was designed by a five year old who still gets excited by flashing lights and monster trucks

Nah...
This time it's a gargantuan!
Thrice the size of a behemoth!
50 times the chance of it getting stuck on the map! :D

It wasnt a stupid design it just was the very unpleasant result of that strain of fev. And no we likely wont see behemoths as the brotherhood had never seen them until we wandered into them in fo3 and they dont exactly look like they can run long distances;/ They likely had only recently begun to show up right in dc.

The look of the Behemoth was very good, it was just the size that was absurd. Originally they were supposed to be much smaller, and the fire hydrant the size of, well, a fire hydrant. If they had kept them in line with this original goal, it wouldn't have been so cringe worthy.

On a whimsically strange note. Hrm a genus of minature giant space hamsters which have the special attack of going for the eyes.

As has already been mentioned it just wouldn't make any sense for Behemoths, Overlords or any other Vault 87 derived Super Mutants to be kicking around New Vegas given the distance between the aforementioned Vault 87 and New Vegas.

Eh, It wouldnt make sense. Vault 87s experimental FEV is different than Mariposas. That said, despite peoples elitism of F1/2 over 3. My opinion is I just wouldnt want it back in because after the initial encounter with the GNR Behemoth, they lose it's 'ooh! aaah!' dazzle. Now Feral Ghouls, even with the ghoul mask they scare me....damn my zombie phobia :cryvaultboy:

It is said that the most dangerous creature in the Mojave Wasteland isn't the biggest thing however. It is actually one of the smallest.

It is a Chimire. (Pronounced She-Meer). It's a Chihuahua, that migrated over the Rio Grande from mexico, trying to escape irradiated heat. As some of the chihuahuas made it out safe, quite a few made it out deformed and mutated.

The Chimire is the mutated mix of a Mirelurk King and a Chihuahua. A snapping turtle and chihuahua convulsed together in the radiated mass and created what we call the Chimire. It looks just like a Chihuahua, except with mirelurk kind scales in place of fur. They have webbed feet, and let out a HORRIBLE sonic boom. (Power of a Chihuahuas bark, and a Mirelurk Kings screech make a horrible sonic boom) The Chimire, can sense you about a day before you actually encounter one. They migrate across the Wasteland when they hear a large enough prey.

When they open their wingspan they have webbed arms. Signs of fur as still sticking out from some scales.

Chimires are very horrible creatures. :(

I dont think that works for vegas (but maybe a future east coast game) - Where do you find a turtle in Nevada? Its not exactly turtle friendly and its a long way for a mirelurk or snapping turtle to migrate and mutate again.

How about some Killer Tumbleweed (which I think they have in deadlands)?

The only possible chance of a behemoth being in the game is as a random encounter as part of the wild/wacky wasteland trait, but even that's unlikely.

Sorry to interrupt all the "oooh, look at the pretty colors" spam, but- in the name of all that's holy, please- no behemoths. The 5 in Fallout 3 were 4 too many, the GNR encounter was more than enough, and they can fade into well-deserved obscurity so far as I'm concerned.

... Think there are any bosses in New Vegas?
In fallout 1 I remember Set could be a pain to get rid off, Lou wasn't the easiest to get a hold of either, and Master had his nightkin spawm which became ridiculous after some time.
Fallout 2 had... Frank Horrigan? Rat God. And uhm... I dunno, the mob bosses in Reno?
Fallout 3 had.... Colonel Autumn. >_> And the GNR Behemoth.

What boss character will New Vegas have?

The reason I detest the behemoth is that it's just a lame attempt at making a "boss" enemy. Instead of coming up with a unique look and its own fighting style (and subsequent combat strategy), they simply made an even bigger super mutant with more hitpoints... lame

Well they at least tried to do something with them.
Colonel Autumn as final boss was just... Sad.
Making 5 of them just felt ridiculous though.
