[OPINIONS] The Best Fallout NV Home Mod

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 8:22 am

I wish to see everyone's personal favorite house mod. I wish to find somewhere to call home and I am in desperate need of opinions.

Urge's stuff

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37482 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38372

It's small, lore-friendly(not a big fan of those big tacky vaults that look like POTUS kind of hideout) and acessible

I would have said Urge's housing mod, but I've since bounced over to the House of the Chef from Puce Moose's http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37172.

It's a nice home. Not huge like the underground mod, but not tiny either; there's just enough space for breathing room while not feeling so dismally empty. That, and the fact that the home is literally earned through the quest prior, not to mention it is lore-friendly...

Oh, and it's on a cliff-thing, so the view from the porch is amazing.

AND THERE"S CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND. This alone is worth being eight points of favor.

Underground Hideout

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37884

It has it all, a working reactor that you have to refill every now and then, sorters, lots'a hidden doors, emergency lockdown, a "online" store, working weapon walls, working ammo shelves and so much other stuff

I used the GECK to add a workbench, hotplate from the DLC and a footlocker to Victor's Shack in goodsprings - it's worked great for me.

Seconded. I love that house, and the quest is really excellent.

It doesn't have a lot of the fancy sorting features you'll find in some house mods, but it has plenty of storage and all the crafting stations. Plus it has a bunch of unique statics that give it some character, it doesn't feel like yet another generic interior. I find myself actually wanting to hang out there instead of just using it as a drop for loot.

Just a shameful self promotion http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34799 , it's just a small underground place in Goodsprings with the basic stuff.

* bed
* Both benches
*Table
*Fridge
*Campfire next to hatch
*Toilet an sink
*LOTS of storage for a small place

Also there's a possibility to use the apt above Wolf's Bakery in westside in my http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44497

/wolf commercial

Enjoy

I use this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43808. There was something similar to it in Fallout 3 and I loved so it was no doubt my favorite in NV.

Buck's Place from the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40433 mod. Nice storage and workshop features, loads of room, and even a plausible vendor living in.

Lombard Station.

Its not on nexus and is maintained through the SA forums but it is quite simply the best housing mod I've seen in any Gamebryo mod. Everything is really compact and thoughtfully arranged, no sprawl, loading areas, or dead space. Storage sorts your guns, armor, ammo, crafting parts, food, booze and chems automatically, and it even then automatically stocks shelves so you can visually see everything you own with no hassle. There's gun racks that sort by type (heavy, rifle, smg, etc) and it recognizes, places, and displays all weapons from vanilla and all DLCs. It has a neat little backstory if you like that kind of thing and fits into the world really nicely. It's kind of small and dumpy but it really fits the atmosphere in FNV and just makes it really quick and convenient to locate, store, and view your items.

It has a workbench and a reloading station that have inventories tied to the containers it sorts things into, so you don't have to rummage around multiple boxes looking for a certain part... if you own it and its somewhere in the house it doesn't matter if its actually in your inventory or not.

I really, really love this home.

Its behind Goodsprings and you'll need to read a note in the saloon and travel to Jean Sky Diving to pick up a key and dynamite to blast your way in before you can use it.

For me its a tie between the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36121 and the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40731. Both are extremely well done and have a lot of attention to detail which is very important to me in a house mod.
