Any confirmation that these unique enchant will be better, or just different?

Actually, I thought that I would be able to craft the best items in the game, with materials found in the highest-level content, not just statically improve "the color" of a looted item as a crafter.
Countless people are already max level Veteran 10 and the MMO hasn't even come out. I don't think crafting stations or much anything else in the game can be called rare at this point.
The game is pretty well known apart from the highest veteran content/adventure zones.
It really just depends on how good the unique unlearnable enchantments are. I assume that they are better as they are drops and not always available learned traits or static location set bonus smithing areas.
and you know this how? from watching pts streams, the crafted set bonuses are on par with the drop set bonuses.
Haha yeah like I said its kind of a nit picky, semantics thing
Fact is through crating, it is the only way to get the best gear.
Wait, [censored]. I was going to be an enchanter but I might as well become an improver(smith) instead.
If the best gear in the game is craftable from scratch anytime a crafter wants, what happens to the vertical progression [censored]s? They'll start complaining that "I spend way more time grinding dungeons, and I've worked harder than crafters. I deserve better gear from dungeons than you can get from crafting only" It sounds ridiculous, but you know it's true! So ZOS decided to mix it up. "unique" enchantments (read: awesome) are only available in dungeons and crafters can improve them to legendary. Everybody is sort of happy.
no idea. I just know that ZOS isn't risky enough to have the best gear have nothing to do with grinding pve. I'd love it if that were true, but I just can't believe it.
if you actually read the source instead of just the title you would know that Crafted gear IS the best gear of the game.
Legendary items don't drop, so to get dropped gear on par with crafted gear you need to improve it yourself or get another smith to.
Or to put it a different way, neither party is happy but neither hates it either. I'm still out on this one, depends on if the unique bonuses are "must have" or not.
It says crafting is better than drops... But enchantments are found from looted items.
Your topic states that its the other way around... or perhaps i am just stupid... feel free to correct me.
Still nothing saying these enchants will be the best, just unique, using other mmo's as examples as to why they will be the best is void as this is its own mmo.
Yes it amazes me that some of the longest threads are from people who seem to be learning to read and understand the English language.
In short, crafters get screwed by PVE endgame grinding as always.
I think this comes down to a confusion of what is and is not available to be crafted. Gear has several elements. base level, improvement level, enchantment, traits and set bonuses. All independent from each other.
He says... " certain enchantments can only be found on dropped gear." Those enchantments cannot be duplicated by your Enchanter. That gear will still lack the item set bonus. So, the best gear will originate from a Crafting Locale.
Here, let's make it simple:
1: A player crafts the best gear in the game from scratch with materials he found around the world.
2: A player improves a loot drop (with unique enchantments unobtainable anywhere from a player) to legendary, making it the best gear in the game.
Do you not see a massive difference? "semantics" my ass. This is between crafters being able to make the best gear in the game vs improving loot drops to be the best gear in the game.
Crafted gear will be better in terms of numbers.
Dropped gear will have better enchantments and procs.
Seems fine to me.
Won't those special enchantment dropped items also have set bonuses?
Yep this.
So if Legendary items do not drop, and the only way to make an item Legendary is through crafting.... Yep Crafting is the only way to get the best gear in the game.
All in all, I really appreciate the fact that crafted items will be on par with dropped gear. It will for sure keep many people involved in the crafting end of things; on an ongoing basis. Useful items = Useful craft.
Since legendary gear does not drop, we (dedicated crafters) need to be able to obtain the epic --> legendary tempers some way other than breaking down legendaries.
Everything else is just sauce for the goose. The goose is the legendary tempers.
Depending on how good the unique drop only enchantments are of course.
and only through crafting can one improve those items.
So yes semantics indeed.
