I also posted a topic on Planet Descent, but I figured I'd post here too for more exposure, since I'm serious about compiling this information...

Ok, everyone. It has been a long time since I kept up with everyone's Descent levels. There are a plethora of them out there... There are archives and archives of D1, D2, and D3 missions available online, not to mention Levels of the World... My question is: Which of these are people actually playing?

So, if you reply to this thread with your favorite Descent missions, I will be compiling the results in a database and will publish them in order of popularity!

You may vote for any number of missions, but please limit them to only your absolute favorites. For each mission, include the following information:
* Which Descent game it is for: D1, D2, or D3. (If the same mission is made for more than one, list them separately.)
* The name of the mission.
* The name of the files. (For example, Total Chaos would be "chaos" because the files are named chaos.msn, chaos.hog, etc., not that anyone would vote for it haha)
* The mode of play you most often use. (e.g. Single Player, Cooperative, Anarchy, etc.) You may list more than one (they will be catalogued separately).
* Where the mission can be downloaded online (if not already mentioned in a previous post)

Please mention missions that have already been mentioned as I will be counting votes to determine popularity. (Each person may vote for more than one mission, but only once per mission.)

Well, people usually are not playing the best missions out there ... rather those they're used to. At least in multiplayer.

People can find a lot of hand picked top notch single and multiplayer Descent 1 and 2 missions in my web site's level spotlight though. I am mentioning that because there is enough real high quality stuff that it is hard to chose from. So actually all of those I have gathered are my favorites in a sense.

I don't remember any multiplayer level names cos it's been too long since I've played it online. So... here's my favourite single player list

D1- Level 1! I've played it so many times over the years! And when I saw the entrance in D3 mission 10 I recognised it straight away
D2- On of the lava ones. I think it was called Lavafalls something or other. Mission 10 or 11.
D3- Level 7. With the asteroid and the giant sentry guns. Do any of you know the tale of how cornmeal came to be?

I liked d1 level 11. It requires a lot of skill, and I have countless epic demos on it. I liked level 5, I played that a lot in childhood.

I also like Athena R2, for you folks who don't know what it is, its a mod of Athena. Good small anarchy level.

The best missions... It's hard to say, and i haven't completed a lot of them, so my list may change suddenly, but at least by now:

D1 - First Strike, Orion Nebula Project
D2 - Konflict at Karon, Obsidian (haven't completed it yet), Phobos Encounter, Anthology (although i've only played a bit of it)... And well there's a lot really! (also liked very much Entropy 1 & 2, etc...)
D3 - Mercenary, Centroid Military Base

descent 3- level 3 (i like playing soccer with the antenna balls lol! ), level 10 (sneaking around undetected)

My favorites would be:

D1 - Level 10, Plutonian Outbreak, and the Lost Levels for D1.

D2 - most of my favorites are here, as D2 was a very versatile game and its level editor made it pretty easy to make campaigns. Project: Mandrill, Encounter 2: Dimensions, The Lost Levels, Apocalyptic Factor, the Entropy Experiment, Entropy 2: Vengeance, Macron Station, and Bahagad Outbreak.

D3 - Retribution level 9, 10, 13, and 14, and Mercenary level 2.

I liked most of the Descent Missions...

D3: Level 12 - Proving Grounds was a lot of fun.

D3 Mercenary Level 1: Loved the level music!

Hated D3 single player mission 4 with the darn subway trains that are faster than a fighter jet... nothing like getting spewed all over the place by one of those !@#$%^&'ing trains!

Hard to pick my favorite levels... loved most of them.
