The Best Official Trailer!

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 4:17 am

Redguard was not open ended as the other titles in the TES but still had a huge world, a thrilling story, great unforgottable musics and the best cinematic trailer i've ever seen!

Now i want to make an argument. It wasn't a very old game but i remember it was using a dos based game engine. Why did it take so long for Bethesda to develope a decent 3D engine as in Morrowind and their newer games?

Is it a possibility to have a new Redguard title with the new engine? Wating for replies of all the Redguards!

Indeed, Redguard is full of DOS code (which is why it can be run in an unofficial build of DOSBox). And Bethesda Softworks didn't develop the 3D engine Morrowind uses, but licensed http://www.gamebryo.com/ instead, which back then was called Netimmerse.

That would be very cool B) Bethesda Softworks actually worked on a Redguard remake for the PS2 once, but eventually scrapped the project. Too bad, I would have bought it :(

I wouldn't mind another (small) game like Redguard. It can provide such a huge cinematic effect that these open RPGs can't do with the present formula. With Elder Scrolls' setting, it would have more weight than any movie ever made.

A while back I read about a Morrowind mod that was either a prequel or a sequel to Redguard and took place on Stros M'kai, but I'm not sure if it was ever finished.

This is the fourth time I've attempted to post, each time my nets died. *Crosses fingers*

That module, with Redguard was sudden and brief, it died out back in 05 sadly. I was looking forward to it quite a bit also. :\

Some guy on that page seriously suggested that Redguard was inspired by Pirates of the Carribean.

Looks nice. Though it's funny to see some familiar faces like those Dwemer robots (forgot their name) and Ascended Sleepers so blocky :P.

That was awesome; really wanna play that; it was one of the best if i remember. Where can it be had?

Isn't that the same actor that recently played male redguard voices in Oblivion?

Yep, it is. Michael Mack. He did the Redguard voices in Morrowind too.

That is the second-greatest exaggeration in the history of recorded speech.

Yeah, that movie definitely makes hungry for more. Though the Redguard intro movie has a similar effect; you can download it http://www.imperial-library.info/intros/redguard_intro_movie.shtml (the intro, not the game, of course), if you're interested.

Definitely worth a look, I would say! :)

Strange in either case, considering they aren't similiar games at all.

actually, I got the vibe that sea dogs, pirates of the carribean, age of pirates, and redguard all had very similar swordfighting mechanics. (redguard was the best though)

I've always wanted Sea Dogs, but I've never been able to find it. :( However, I agree they all do look the same-ish, but I've only ever played Redguard. :(

The music out of that one Daggerfall trailer is the best.

That was actually pretty cool :celebration: , if it had that music in the game that it did in the trailer I'd buy it, also it looked more cinematic than the other ones did too.

Also, that giant ( I'm guessing to be a Dwemer robot guard ) was pretty awesome.
