The best Oprah emails

Post » Wed Sep 22, 2010 12:30 am

Not often I get an excuse to post a thread about the Opera web browser, but over at Opera they've gotten a few emails intended for Oprah Winfrey. To, erm, commemorate the end of her show, they decided to post some of the best ones.

http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/2011/05/25/oprah-winfrey-we-will-miss-you

I like how they were kind enough to respond to the people and inform them they sent emails to the wrong person, and in a human and almost comical way. Nice to see actual human emails from a company rather than the rigid usual ones they send out. They didn't even really have to do it, they could have just deleted all of them and never informed the people they were emailing the wrong person.

Meh oprah svcks... the only cool think that ever happened with that show was when people managed to pull the "over 9000 [censored]'s" prank on her

Reading it now. Laughed when they gave the little girl music tips. And the Business one, that seemed pretty legit, it's a shame they sent it to the wrong person.

Careful... Oprah has more power than the president in some areas. She says to give money to a charity, said charity will need to hire dozens of accountants to keep track of the sudden tidal wave of checks sent in the mail. Oprah puts her book club sticker on a book, it becomes the #1 Bestseller.

Dear Oprah, good luck on your 2016 presidential candidature.
If house-wife America decides to vote, you're a shoe-in.. :goodjob:

Of course, being president of the US will mean trading in some of your power.. checks and balances and all that :)

I am pretty sure that was a scam. I get emails similar to that one all of the time. :P

Anyway, I really enjoyed the last one. It made me laugh when they explained how it worked.

If Oprah did a browser it would render everything in soft focus and every time I successfully entered a URL a sycophantic audience with dreadful pastel-coloured clothes would pop up and start clapping.

Damn, they didn't have any wise-ass response for the "business proposal."

And...what the hell? 9 and 13-year-olds watching Oprah?! What kind of lousy parents do these kids have?!

The kind of lousy parents that watch Oprah.

I've never even heard of Oprah save for the jokes on family guy and the recent news stories about her last show. I don't understand what the big thing is about her show though, it sound's pretty generic.

EDIT:

I want a hair battle with some one... Chuck Norris beard punch style. Epic.

She has much more terrifying powers than that

She has the power to give you lavish things on T.V. without mentioning the taxes you'll have to pay because you accepted it.

I would say it's pretty long, I sure never had any 19 hour school days.

A first I stopped reading when I saw "Today is the last Oprah show in the history of television." I read on after that, but I stopped and thought yes! Finally!

The conversations are pretty funny though, I got a good laugh out of it.

Hey, you won't get out on technicality like that. I still mock your monarchy (see - I didn't even capitalise it) and I don't live in a country which has either kings/queens or Oprahs.

For now; she's probably going to buy up your country next week and give everyone in it a free handbag
