HD 5970 TOXIC 4GB is a Dual GPU Card. it has 2 HD5870 2gb each. u have probably mixed up single gpu card to single graphics card...there's a difference...

The 480 is usually infront of the 5870, which are the top two single-GPU cards on the market.

Nvidia Tesla C2050 ... but you'll have to sell your soul before you can afford one of those. It's mainly used in graphics engineering not games(no wonder) , you'd have to be extreamly rich or extreamly missing a screw to buy one.It runs Crysis 1 at 300 - 400 FPS (if not better).

NVIDIA 480 GTX is currently the fastest, for commercial and gaming purposes but ATI usually follows not far behind nvidia with their video card releases but are usually far superior. When the 6 series comes out, probably before crysis 2, we will most likely see the single most powerful single GPU card.

he said to play crysis
5870 beats 480 in crysis for some reason
but loses in like every other game
i dont get y hes like single card if price is no matter
the 5970 takes up 2slots like other cards and will destroy crysis so either find a 5870 matrix and get it oc it 1ghz or get a 5970 and say lag is for girly men

Why? It's not THAT expensive.
However, hiring people who can code the card and game to support eachother - that could get expensive. Very. Expensive. If it's even possible.

I'm not surprised it's from the same goose who claimed to have Crysis running at 1000fps on an "unknown" nVidia card. It's fake.

ATI5870. GTX480 uses more power and produces more heat, and isn't much better. Plus, for some reason, it gets outperformed in Crysis by the 5870.

If you have unlimited money, no sense of hearing and amazing cooling, then the gtx480 probably edges it.

If you are any good at actually using tech, then a hd5870 + a huge OC is the best card in the world still in pretty much every aspect. Tessellation is better on th gtx480, but crysis 2 won't employ it a extensively as the unigine benchmark, and the hd5870 does well in that.

Also, do remember the hd5870 performs better in crysis 2.

Also, hd5970 is definitely the best if money is no issue, it being 2 gpu's on one die means nothing, it's still 'one' card.

It's not two GPU's on "one die". It's two GPU's on one PCB.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_%28integrated_circuit%29

Also, multi-GPU issues, scaling and support remain. It still uses Crossfire technology in order for two GPU's to communicate with one another.

Nvidia GeForce GTX480!!!

okay, ATI's top cards are fast... but they just don't have the quality that Nvidia has.

Nividia > ATI... IMO :L
