and we have a winner!! (lol, obviously) also, that threat is very risky, imagine all the kind of flame wars you could incite! also there are alot of conclusions to be taken from the chosen options...

I couldn't vote, since I haven't played SR at all, barely touched the guilds in OB before the game's heavy-handed scaling and hand-holding drove me away, and haven't even played all of the MW guilds despite several thousand hours sunk into in the game.

Between MW and OB, I preferred MW overall by a huge margin, and don't like what I've read about SR going even further down that road. I would probably like the Shivering Isles expansion, but can't get past the mental anguish of putting the Oblivion disc in the drive again. What I saw of the OB Mages Guild wasn't bad, but far too linear yet disconnected from everything outside it. I got less far in the OB FG, and didn't even try TG or DB, so can't rate them.

The MW MQ kept me guessing as to motives and what exactly was the "truth" (and it's still not clear-cut), while OB laid it all out in Black and White during the intro. Dagoth Ur's closing dialog in MW kept me questioning the motives and reasons behind the Tribunal's actions, and the validity of my own choices, despite knowing by then that Dagoth Ur needed to be stopped regardless, while Mankar Cameron's very nicely done speech in OB was a case of "too little, too late" to make a difference in the overall nature of the situation. Again, without having played SR, I can't comment.

Same, I appreciated the effort Beth put into the city, but it just didn't work. I'd have thought Balmora or Sadrith Mora would be winning this one easily.

I'm more shocked that Morrowind is winning the Vamps/Werewolves one. Skyrim was the only one Beth put there all behind for Vamps/Weres.

Some people don't have Dawnguard. I don't. I know several others who don't as well. In addition, there are some members here who don't own Skyrim.

I don't either. But it's clear they put a lot more effort into it than vampires in other games.

Oh, I agree. I was guessing that this might be why so many people voted for Morrowind. I voted for Morrowind because I didn't feel qualified to vote for an expansion I haven't played.

I certainly hated Vivec. That city was such a pain to get around in, took forever to get anywhere. Balmora all the way.

I love Vivec, because of it's hugeness and different locations, ministries, temple, and so on. I believed that such city could exist. Also Mournhold, but as far as i remember it's smaller than Vivec.

The complete city of Almalexia would be considerably larger than Vivec, but the Tribunal expansion only allowed you access to the small Mournhold district of the city. That's stil probably as large in area as Vivec, but only one level (not including the ruins beneath), compared to the Vivec cantons being up to 4 levels high (including the "sewers").

I liked Balmora more than Vivec overall, but Vivec had its good points, along with its "ache in the posterior" ramp layout. Once my character manages to become reasonably proficient with a relatively easy to cast Levitation spell, or makes a simple enchantment for the purpose (It takes about 22 to 24 seconds at a Levitation speed of 1), crossing between the cantons at various levels suddenly becomes no big deal.

Vivec embodies everything I dislike about urban planning. Vivec is soulless, bland, uniform, oppressive, soul-deadening. The city is not only looks like a series of concrete bunkers it is also frustrating to navigate. Unless, of course, one abandons RP and uses levitation with every character.

I think it was designed to be frustrating to navigate. The three houses are at each others' throats, so they want separation. The hated foreigners are kept at the end furthest away from the resident god, where they belong, and the only approach to that god's residence involves effort. The best of everything is on top, where it's hardest to get to.I think Vivec's design is entirely appropriate to the Dunmer mind; I think it borders on genius.

Don't get me wrong, I avoided going to Vivec as much as possible, but I wouldn't have designed it any other way. Like you said, it was a perfect embodiment of all the tensions of Morrowind's underbelly. Honestly, my biggest issue was having to sit through 5 loading screens to get anywhere. It's like Manaan from Knight of the Old Republic.

Only 6 votes for the Imperial City?! I cannot believe it! Best (and most significant) city we've ever visited in TES, in my opinion.

I think here the problem was with very slow(until high athletics) running of the character. I personally believe that it's best to have big and complex cities(I especially liked two saint's cantons with many "flats" and other things)

Overall gameplay I say Skyrim, best magic: oblivion, most sandbox and best for roleplaying: Morrowind,
Yes magic has more options in Morrowind, cast levitate on an pack of boars, put on an levitate ring and let them follow you over a cliff, enjoy the flying pigs until the their spell times out. However magic was either abuse fortify intelligence potions until demigod or more useless than in Skyrim.
Morrowind was way to easy at higher levels, oblivion had only nerf weapons on all sides at higher levels. in Skyrim enemies are able to kill me and I feel more like fighting than cutting down an large tree.

Best Vanilla Game: Morrowind. I found this game's environment and people to be exotic and wonderful. It was like immersing myself in a completely alien culture, but still being able to enjoy the luxuries of my own home. It is also one of (if not) the only game to ever really affect my mood. I felt a bittersweet pleasure when I finally

. I would rank it as one of, if not thee best single-player roleplaying game I have ever played.

Best Thieves Guild: Skyrim. The people of Skyrim's questline are much better than Gentleman Jim Stacey. Jim Stacey was a robin-hood, but Brynjolf and them--they were thieves. I loved them for that and they truly made one of the most memorable aspects of the game just that--memorable.

Best Fighters Guild: Morrowind. The plotline was rich with intrigue, but I also felt like a mercenary.

Best Mages Guild: Morrowind, although it is not fair. They had House Telvanni as their rivals, an intricate organization of how I view a Mages' Guild should be. And I truly felt like I advanced as I went up from picking herbs to

Oblivion and Skyrim just felt too cliche for my tastes.

Best Dark Brotherhood: Skyrim. We were the last of a dying breed (or so we know) and

Best Daedric Quests: Neutral. I have not done them all on all the games.

Best Main Quest: Morrowind.
Spoiler

Best DLC/Expansions: Morrowind. It had two expansions which were both phenomenal. That is all which I feel needs to be said.

Best Werewolves/Vampires: Morrowind. Three different bloodlines and super-powered werewolves were far funner than some of their incarnations in other games.

Best City In All Of Tamriel: Balmora. It is large enough to have everything which I need, but not too large to be bothersome. And when I walk by the river--I imagine the wonderful smell of life and being able to go fishing in town. It may not seem like much to make it my favorite, but what can I say? I don't need a bloated Imperial Nexus (The Imperial City) or anything like that.

That again.

Now if only Bethesda would take the best of these categories and make them better and make a brand new game it would be ever so golden.

ya reason why I picked morrowinds version of vamps and wolves over ob or skyrim was because there were actual different vamp factions u could join and get the desease from, just overall felt like a different experience. They did it quite nice and it seems that the gem was hidden from most of public because I basically stumpled upon it and went from there and it was like playing the game differently. U were cut off from alot of content but had access to special content reserved solely for vamps.

It wasnt as "cool" as ob or skyrims, but it felt more fleshed out, like there was more thought put into it as far what ur part was in the story.
