As long as Brink didn't follow the Activision-Blizzard route of hiring mentally defective goldfish to handle weapon balance, there should be no 'best weapon'.

But I know what you're looking for here, and I'm happy to oblige. Pump Shotguns straight own all of your fancy, pretentious, tactical pea-shooters!

Dev's said that there will be no best weapon in any category. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own preferences and opinions.

I have to agree with the pump. Considering that close range is what you will be at most of the time.

Grenades, no contest. Versatile, effective, and that effect is extremely helpful.

My reason for liking shotguns so much is because as I like to play support classes in shooters, most fighting I do is defensive - that is to say, I don't go looking for a fight, people come to me. Shotguns are great for defending yourself from somebody who thinks he's being cute by trying to humiliate you with a close range knife / teabag.

The heavier the weapon, the better it should be. The balance of heavy to light should be less about giving heavies huge amounts of HP, and more about letting them use completely destructive fun weapons.

Well, Assault Rifle wins out with range, and Shotgun wins close up.

Oh, good point. I don't really know too much about what attachments exists and which don't, though.

Is there anything to reduce spread? Because super tight spread on a shotgun is the bestest weapon ever.

I would have to say [sport reserved until Brink comes out] because it has [sport reserved until Brink comes out]. In other words, we don't know yet we can only guess.

Should you get close enough. I can run faster than you and shotguns are infamous for short ranges to begin with.

It scalds my fingertips to type it, but there may be a Steady Aim type of ability you can unlock.

Yuck, using a Call of Duty term for Brink! :pinch:
