The Bethesda Podcast: Now Seeking Your Questions/Stories/Etc

Post » Wed Nov 10, 2010 2:24 am

Hey there http://www.bethblog.com/podcast/ fans. We're heading into the Bethesda Podcast Recording Chamber later today, and this time around we thought we'd take a few of your questions.

Want to know more about that cool thing in Fallout: New Vegas? Wondering what's up with RAGE? Need some insight into game development? We have experts on hand to answer your queries. And we may be giving out special prizes each 'cast to anyone that sends in an extra-good question.

Questions that won't get answered include those pertaining to: unannounced projects, relationship dilemmas, werewolves, etc.

That said, use this thread to ask away. We'll pin it later and continue to pull questions from it as we record further episodes.

Thanks!

Will any of your future games be on Mac? If so which? If not why?

Are any of your past games being converted so that they can be used on Mac through steam?

When are the podcasts released (dates)?

This may come into the "not within reason" department, but I'll give it a try!

We're heading in to record a little something in a minute, so I'm unpinning this for the time being. We may take a question or two -- let us know if you have anything.

To those that asked good questions before, your answers are still coming; we'll be doing longer segments revolving around them as we get further down the episode line.

New Vegas was released recently and while it got good reviews from professional game critics I noticed that a lot of people here on the forums got really bad first impressions of the game due to your decision to use Steamworks... Any regrets? Is it likely that we will see more gamesas titles using Steamworks in the future?

I personally love Steam and I think that Steamworks is brilliant but you'd have to be blind and deaf not to notice the intense fan-rage that's been going on in the FNV forum :P

With Call of Duty, Borderlands and now Red Dead Redemption getting zombie modes, what do you guys think about this method of spicing up games and will you be tempted to add zombie modes into any of your future games?

Spoiler

What convinced you to use gamebryo for the TES and fallout series?
Is there anything that it does better than other engines that is suited to your openworld games?
Will you continue to use gamebryo,or do you feel its time for a change?
apologies if it sounds like im one of those people who HATE gamebryo,im really indifferent towards it.

During Fallout: New Vegas's development we saw quite a few Obsidian devs posting in the forums. Do many of the devs, both Obsidian and Bethesda, read the forums? Be it for fun or comments/feedback on the parts of the game they've been involved in.

Do you find that some bugs are funny enough to be worth keeping in?
(Such as the broken neck syndrome NPCs sometimes experience when waking up.)
Is their any part of the fan base you find particularly annoying?
(Such as some of the ideas in the TES ideas and suggestions thread being difficult or near impossible to implement.)

Can we see some of the head developers of Bethesda while they were younger? Like Todd Howard during highschool? That would be pretty neat.

Who had written the lore for Area and Daggerfall? What man? Was it all of you sitting around a big table or something else? Was it one person?
