THE BIG MODS: List them, stalk them and cuddle them! Post al

Post » Wed May 08, 2013 11:30 pm

I have to agree with this, I really think that we do mods for a bit of attention or for people to possibly use our mods.

Not everybody have beta testers because not everybody has people interested enough in their work to test it or yeah, they are not experienced enough to know how to get them in a proper way, I am one of the later. I had people who wanted to beta test my mod, yet, none of them came to give back feedback. If I would have know better, maybe I would have find better people to test my mods.

And yeah, once you release it, it seems that people will come and report bugs so it can be a nice way to test your mod for the smaller bugs. I always put beta or demo somewhere in my mod description, and I will say it more than once, they are pretty much always in a working state too. People who release a beta with nothing in it though? That's another thing...

Really big, LONG term projects like MERP do this to get the word out because they need to recruit new members fairly often. If you have an efficient development process that functions for distribution of new builds to a large team, creating a public alpha isn't too hard.

Here is a promising new dungeon mod:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=130693421

Haven't tried it since it's unfortunately only uploaded on the Workshop, and I can't be bothered with the launcher screwing up my settings again...

Heh, I have indeed disappeared off the face of the Earth for a while due to real life dropping pianos on my head and the like. I come back to take a peek at the modding scene and see a legacy of my thread continued by some good soul Very nice, I'll sure find it useful when it's my turn to finally PLAY some of the mods. Thanks!

Would you be able to update Luftahraan's entry to "A large new city situated beyond the initially playable area Northwest of Skyrim and on the border to High Rock, Luftahraan and its surrounding lands feature a large cast of fully voice acted NPCs, an extensive and engaging main quest and numerous side and miscellaneous quests for the player to complete."

Thanks a lot, Windhelm Guard.

I'd like to add my WIP own mod here as a "big mod", SkyReal - Weather and Lighting.
It's a massive weather and lighting overhaul, which adds hundreds of new high quality cloud textures, weather systems, and all new fine-tuned lighting. The immense variety is that brings to the skies is something that has never been done before in the history of Bethesda modding. It's hot in-progress. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1452257-wip-skyreal-%E2%80%93-weather-and-lighting/

I'd also like to add this mod as a big mod. Falkreath Creek. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26510
It's working on a huge new explorable area near Falkreath, full of wonderful pine forests. Like an expansion to the vanilla world, and that fits well in it. It will have very detailed and unique quests. It's such a beautiful mod and one of my favourites... the forests are just wonderful. It's hot in-progress.

I've played this one. It's a fun, unique dungeon run filled with tough puzzles and lots of interesting game books. The quest reward doesn't work entirely as intended, but I still had fun with it. Took maybe 2 or 3 hours to complete, I want to say.

I recommend it.

Is there something wrong? I may have put the wrong colour. I have colour deficiency you see, so working with certain colours is tough.

OP can you please change the Hunting in Skyrim description to read:

Adds a Hunting Guild with 10+ main quests, 8+ radiant side quests, new creatures, new animal skinning system, and more! (still being actively developed)

Thanks man

i m not sure if falkreath creek should belong to the new lands. Which category do you think i should put it?
And should i put skyreal lighting into total conversions?

I think Falkreath Creek should belong to new lands. I mean, it adds... a huge new land. The "main thing" about it is a new explorable land, but it also includes new big quests, villages, dungeons. It's also just becoming bigger and bigger... and it truly deserves more attention I think (that's why I mentioned it in the first place ).

SkyReal fits best with "Other big additions". It's not a total conversion as it doesn't change the vanilla landscape and transform it to something new. It "just" changes all the weather and lighting.

mm ok
changed the new lands to newlands + other extension thingy. Moonpath can technically fit as an extension and a quest mod at the same time. Not so much for a new land though(unlike wyrmstooth)
