exactly! it seems that most can't like them both its like black and white there can be no grey

Hey i like grey. I wouldn't play my PC games on anything else. I'm buying Skyrim for my PC, and Battlefield for my PS3. I just kinda lose it when Techist blowfasts get uppity with that holier than thou crap. And consolers are usually to chill to defend thier good name. So i have a compulsive need to call out techism before it consumes us all...

someone has it wrong over there at bethesda. either todd is when he said that they could pretty much do everything they wanted with the xbox and the only difference a next gen console could make would be making the game prettier. or the stuff about being able to render extra npcs with combined armor is true. if the pathetic xbox really does need combined armor to render extra npcs that means that todd was wrong and the xbox really is holding back game design. im going with the xbox is holding back game design theory.

They said they render faster.

I can't really choose between PC and Console. I really like some of the PC games but a lot more choice for the consoles

About #1.
From a rendering perspective every broken sheet edge has a cost in performance. The engine can load a contiguous mesh and render it in one pass vs separate meshes with a belt /waist seam. Thats two open seams in the waist/belt area alone on once character versus no open sheet edges with the one piece design. So when you add that up on 20 characters on screen it can start to add rendering speed.

The fact is, they probably had a nightmare with past games fighting clipping issues and had to limit their design ideas so that all the armors worked together and this stifled them creatively in the art department. So combining them got rid of that issue. There is probably still a chance that the slot is still there, but they simply selected both slots on ALL the armors in the CS. So mod authors can probably break them apart and make it like Oblivion later. I don't know why they would remove the slot, that is more work.

You haven't even got the slightest clue what we are talking about. He said the Crisis 2 engine was the best sandbox engine ever made and i'm disputing that. He also said that Bethesda's engine capabilities are limited to what the 360 is capable of and that is just utterly false. Anyone that has modded them can tell you that the engines are capable of WAY more than the 360 can handle. Butt the f out if your not going to read everything that has been said.

1. I did say sandbox engine maybe you have no clue sandbox means? It means do anything and everything that you want. Which Cryengine allowed.. want to blow up building go ahead want clear forest go ahead want blow up everything go ahead. Want walk anywhere near or far you see go ahead.....

2. As for map size the maximum size depends on your system in the editor with my old rig I went up to 16km with few lag and maybe a lock up or two on start but its all open world. Others can go up to 32km or higher with my current rig I have no doubt I can do more. Takes a [censored] load of ram to do so though..

3. DO all that with excellent graphics and physics that Cryengine has and you have the best sandbox engine in the industry. And that engine COULD be used for a RPG game similar to TES and blow the current and past engines that Beth has used without a doubt.

Also Crysis 2 =/= Cryengine 2 which is used by Crysis 1 and wars, Crysis 2 uses Cryengine 3

And cluster

First, Emulators + ROMS.. every game from every generation PS1 even game cube games down Free split scren and all able set up a controller like my 360 and play within two minutes thats too hard for average person isn't it?.. either that be Mario kart 64, 007 Goldeneye, Gran Turismo 1 Mortal combat, etc Also get to play all the SP games with that controller like Zelda I can say I play Animal Crossing with my 360 controller can you? Or pokemon Sapphire/emerald/yellow and red the with it aswell

Second my 42' LCD LG plays Crysis, GTA 4, Halo 2, Assassin Creed, Fallout 3, Farcry 1 and 2, COD 4 with my 360 controller sitting in my recliner or couch which ever feel like actually I can use my Wheel for driving games... such as trackmania Nations forever (which is free) and any other game that has a car in it..

Third, not really hard to throw a keyboard especially wireless easier to throw a mouse though.

Fourth, My rig will last me till next, next gen... next gen won't even reach it maybe get close due to Microsoft learning from Sony what they already knew and see that an wee bit better system doesn't really go too well if the price tag is $700 or more.. just because one extra core and a blu ray player...

Fifth, A HUGE percent of PC players are elitist and have actually played the better games... either it be in terms of graphics as Crysis has or the map scale as Arma 2 has or the variety and scale such as Planetside and Battlefield has or the freedom of games like Minecraft has.. all of which are not doable on current gen they will on next maybe well not Arma 3 anyways but then they will improve once again due to new technology

Sixth, more like 3 year cycles.. and that's just for a GPU 5 years for a new mobo/CPU and maybe RAM which can be used with the same monitor, case, and GPU you already costing less then new gen console would.. which will prolly have a new console every 4 years for now on and you save cash on games.. mainly from steam deals but most games do not have that $10 on to it because no one needs to pay off the development of PC as they do with Xbox, PS and Nintendo for selling there platforms for $300 instead of $400

Seventh, last but not least I can do anything better then a console can do. :celebration:

Yeah... I think most everyone will agree that PC's are more powerful, but you really don't need to be an Elitist. Most people just don't have the time, money, or effort to put together a gaming rig when it is so much easier to go out and by a console that will last seven years easily. Seven years is actually a long time.

No seriesly, I think most agree with me when it comes to the PC elitist behavior, it really needs to stop and completly uncalled for. There is no reason pc gamers should (I better stop before I type something I regret. It is sad, and truly a wonder why games used to be just looked at to be for nerds and geeks. :sadvaultboy:

what a bunch of [censored]. go to any video on youtube showing PS3 vs 360 footage and just read the comments. take your stupid lies and [censored] and peddle them somewhere else. your supposed list is nothing but crap as is your assumption that consoles users dont flame or brag about their consoles. there is more crap in your posts than at a cattle ranch. stop embarrassing yourself.

I don't believe for one second it has anything to do with laziness. The game has been in development for several years with a team of 100.

I would imagine there will be several variations and therefore it renders the need for separate greaves moot.

I voted it will increase variation.

You sure as hell aren't showing any class by doing the same thing as the "consoles users". All you did was insult the guy comment and presented a bunch of questionable/arguable opinions.

P.S. Footage comparisons are questionable because they can be easily be distorted.

???? wha....

the list was a joke. well with a few sly points tacked on. it was a take on the fact PCers have been hating at an exponential rate. Even though everyone of them who is old enough to shave grew up playing goldeneye in it's unraqed (unmodded) form. I play Minecraft. i download mods for oblivion. So i have a right to make a joke about throwing keyboards. i just don't agree with people attacking Consoles, disregarding it's influence, and disrespecting its achievements and sitting back with thier smug faces like they can't be touched. It's an insult to our great industry on both sides. Do i have to write a thesis to get my point across. What are consolers rubbing in the PCers faces so vehemently anyway? Processing power? come on. Nothing compared to the crap i read on a daily from people who spend more money on thier rig than i do on my daughter, and she's expensive.

The second PC's outpaced consoles in this industry a whole slew of gamers jumped ship and pissed on the one that carried them faithfully through mushroom kingdoms and sage temples. [censored] that lot. Is all i'm saying. They have no heart for what truly makes this the highest form of modern art.

And your not a [censored]. Which is good, come on over and have tea. We have a killer bonfire, a pretty chill atomosphere. And you are less likely to get your ass kicked by koreans.

But you can't play rockband on your PC not without butchering it some how, and to that point social-in-the-room gaming is a console thing.. And console innovation does define games every generation.

The list was really just a retort of how PCers list off crap about console, and how they're screwing them over. You just never see anything like that cuz console gamers aren't usually pricks.

i agree that consoles are better for having friends round and passing the controller. For sure ;)

When i'm on my own though i just prefere the PC . To each his own. Lets end the Console / PC bashing. It's totaly pointless...and BORING :D

Anyway, this is my personal opinion, based on common sense and the little info I'm aware of. Feel free to bash it... with arguments please.

Really? Common sense? I didn't realize the process of developing a game was common sense...

Must have missed that class...too much partying :celebration:

the reason we PC gamers are upset with consoles is because they are crippling the game industry, and im not just referring to graphics. when people get excited about a game like demon souls coming along in the PS3 because its hard and comment that they havent seen a game like that since before the PS2 came out that says alot. same thing with witcher 2, there were threads all over about how hard it was but it was only hard if you didnt move around. people have gotten so used to games like assassins creed where you just stand there and press one button over and over again they forgot how to play games where you actually have to work at stuff. games have become more "mainstream" and basically simplified to the point that a monkey could play them. console games and PC games used to be separate realms with platforms and such being on consoles and PC games being the realm of RTS and adventure games. as the lines blur though and more and more crossplatform games are made most games are designed around idiots these days. the guy from Id has commented on consoles as well as the guy from DICE. more and more developers are going public with their frustration with the primitive architecture of the consoles.

the one thing that consoles has been invaluable for is a steady stream of money so that companies can keep making games, but that does absolutely no good if the vast majority of games are watered down EZ moron games that any 6 year old can play. i had a blast with demone souls on my friends PS3 but that is an exception, i whipped through assassins creed and some japanese fighting ninja game without any problems whatsoever and i hardly ever play on consoles.

i used to be a dedicated console player back in the sega genesis, SNES days up through the playstation N64 days. i started switching towards PC when games for the xbox and PS2 started turning to crap and were "simplified' for the "mainstream" audience. the problem isnt the people that jumped ship the problem is the games and the developers themselves forgetting what games were supposed to be, namely challenging.

Why must every game be played because it's a challenge? Is it wrong to want to play a game because it is just fun?

Btw, I'm a pc gamer and am not upset.

why can't people just except that some play console some play pc, both are enjoyable.

The sentiment isn't as much "I hate consoles" as it is, "a new generation of consoles is necessary because the current generation are ridiculously outdated".

thats just personal preference. challenge is fun to me. if i play a game and enemies just fall before my sword/gun and i dont take much damage from them i just get bored. for this reason very few adventures games have been able to keep me interested. if im being chased by monsters then by golly i want to be scared of them not just "meh, guess i better kill them to move the story along". i hate when that happens.

on the other hand i have tons of fun when a game comes out that makes me sweat and work for it. im currently split between getting a VITA or a PS3 for dark souls since i loved demon souls so much.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but stop lumping all pc gamers together like we all want extremely challenging games in order to have fun.

Also, oblivion at max difficulty was hard.

im not lumping all PC gamers together. the discussion was about PC gamers that rip on consoles. i would think you are smart enough that i shouldnt have to spell everything out and put tags on it. PC gamers (not all of them just the ones the hate consoles) is a bit much to type out all the time and im not going to type it out and you should be able to figure that out on your own.

oblivion on max difficulty was boring as hell since you just bashed and bashed and bashed over and over again. i tried oblivion unmodded once with the slider all the way up and all i got was a super sore thumb and wrists form the repetitive motion.
