On the birth of Clavicus Vile

Just an idea I had some time last week.

What if Clavicus Vile was Sai turned into a Daedric Prince?

Here under is a possible explaination of the birth of Clavicus Vile.

Ebonarm was an Umbra' Keth who somehow reached divinity, some kind of Prince among the Umbra' Keths. When he perceived the ability of Sai to give luck to a side in the war, He deprived him of his mortality. We know Sai's story, he fell in love with Josea and it led to the downfall of the Falmers, and then he was punished by Ebonarm. He lost his material shape, and was allowed by Mara to visit his descendants every year, in the shape of a wolf, which I interpret as sending his friend Grellan as a messenger.

Sai then sought revenge on Ebonarm, for having lost his love. As he was visiting Argonia to give the Hists some luck, the Hists allowed him to meet their brethren who grows in the realm of Sheogorath, the Tree of Shade, who knows much about Shadow Magic and this Hist of the Shivering Isle told him it was possible to soultrap a Shadow Soul, using a special type of soulgem, pretty much like usual soulgems capture White Souls, like black soulgems capture Black Souls, like the Numidium's skin capture Golden Souls, and like the Chim-el Adabal captures Dragon Souls.

But Sai was no magician, so he lacked the competence needed to create such a gem. Then the Hists proposed him a Pact. They would create such a Shadow gem, and an Argonian witch named Naenra Werr, who worships the Tree of Shade in Sheogorath's realm, would then use the soul of Ebonarm to create an artifact. In exchange for their help, Sai would create a realm for their purposes.

Sai agreed, and through Shadow Magic, the Tree of Shade melded him with other possible selves. Sai ascended to Daedricness, and thus was born Clavicus. Sai's ability to grant luck was preserved and became Clavicus' ability to grant wishes, and Sai's duty to keep the luck in balance became Clavicus' habit to betray the ones whose wishes he granted. Clavicus Vile's summoning day at the New Life Festival originated from Sai's allowance to visit his family once a year. Grellan was affected by the process and became Barbas.

Then the Hists mixed the Blood of the Gods (ebony) with the Blood of the Hists (their Sap) in the same way one imbues ebony with Daedric fluids to create Daedric material. They forged the resulting material into a sword-shaped shadow soulgem. Naenra Werr recieved the sword, and was led by Clavicus/Sai to Ebonarm. The witch fought the godly Umbra' Keth, and thanks to Clavicus/Sai's luck, she defeated the God of War. Thus was created Umbra, as Ebonarm was trapped into the sword. Sai/Clavicus honoured his oath and created a sanctuary for the Hists in his Realm.

Something went wrong, of course, due to Sheogorath's influence on Naenra Werr. And we know the result.

A long time after that time, the sword was brought back into Clavicus' Realm. He found escape and torn the Hist sanctuary apart, and then caused rampage into Argonia as a revenge.

When Umbra was shattered into smoke, Ebonarm was freed from his curse, and the God of War could thus again walk freely in the world. And thus began the premises of the Great War.

The irony is that Ebonarm itself was freed because Sul did not accept to lose his love, pretty much the same reason why he was cursed in the first place. I guess Mara was displeased by Sai's behaviour... Maybe Ilzheven could even be a reincarnation of Josea...

So... what do you think about this possible account of the birth of Clavicus Vile? Is it plausible, lorewise?
