The Black Hound

Here is something I would like gamesas to do. Restart and complete development on Black Isle's cancelled title The Black Hound. TBH was originally developed as a new IP, however gamesas asked that they attach Baldur's Gate 3 to the title, which the developer complied with although TBH still had nothing to do with the BG universe and was not connected to the BG games, nor were there any references to the plot of the BG canon. So what I think would be a great idea is for gamesas to re-initiate development of TBH, removing the BG3 from the title since they dont own the rights, and to develop TBH as its own franchise and canon as it was originally meant to be. Please, gamesas?

Interesting. I've never heard of this before.

Anyhoos, we don't have the rights to make Baldur's Gate games.

Actually, J.E. Sawyer, the lead designer of The Black Hound, currently at Obsidian (working on Fallout: New Vegas) is working on recreating TBH as a free Neverwinter Nights 2 module in his free time. Whether he'll actually have time to finish it remains to be seen. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

Please read my post. TBH is NOT a Baldur's Gate game and I already acknowledged in the post that gamesas does not own the rights to BG. That's what I'm saying, drop the BG from the title because TBH was originally NOT a BG game to begin with and has NOTHING to do with BG, in story, characters or universe.

It wasn't really a Baldur's Gate game, that's correct. It was, however, still a Forgotten Realms/D&D game (so the universe was definitely the same), and gamesas does not have the rights to that anymore. Your only chance for seeing TBH finished is if J.E. Sawyer finds the time to do it as an NWN2 module. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas
