The Blades - The Rescue

Post » Fri Oct 01, 2010 1:50 am

With one last slash at the young tree, the asassin sprung back to admire her work on the trunk, panting heavily from her excessive means of exercise and training. Taking a knee she glanced at the trunk that had many different slashes of varying depth and length. However as the dagger was not balanced properly Nina did not want to keep the blade and flung it at one of the marks in the tree. Useless junk of a Nordic dagger.. i was right about the weight. It is not good for my fighting style.. she thought to herself as the Imperial woman reaching into her coat pocket and retrieved the apple the blade captain had dropped in front of her as he walked off.

His words still continued to get to her, like hers had to him back at her cell. But he had a point, and she showed a moment of weakness.. that one second where her mask had been taken off to show the girl that had been thrown into a world of chaos and shadow..

But that girl was long gone and to have shown someone her emotions was frustrating and could make people feel sorry for her, which she did not want at all. All these thoughts going through her head just made her try to shake it off, and grip the coat closer to her body as the cold wind began to freeze the sweat that had accumulated from her training. Shivering, the asassin walked slowly to the fire that was being lit, and sat down on one of the logs that surrounded the fire.

DoNashi

As soon as he asked the question he could see the face of Barret darken, “no.” was all he said. It’s clear he does not want to talk about it. best to leave it alone. He then looked around and saw a Dunmer come closer. “Greetings” his calloused voice hailed.
“Greetings, will you be joining us on the patrol?” DoNashi asked, “oh, and the name is DoNashi.” He held out his paw and smiled at the Dunmer.

The captain then turned to them, dropping some torches. “Alright folks, grab yourself a torch and let me light it. Stick close, I'm not sure what to expect but this area should be safe. Bring something to eat with you if you want. But we'll only be out for maybe ten or fifteen minutes."

He seems like a likeable person. But before I can thrust any of them I must know what they were looking for there. Their dead friend, yes, but what was he doing there?

Jareth watched as they tried to make the fire larger by adding more kindling and wood to it so it was large enough to cook on. With a reserved sigh the Telvanni khajiit leaned in, placing his hand close to an unburnt log and created a small flame to engulf it and add to the fire. It was a trivial thing to put his magic to but it was useful, considering the log was smothering it. At that time he noticed the dark haired, cold looking woman sitting down by the fire looking -aside from emotionally icy- rather cold physically. Her eyes seemed to stick out the most against her pale features and jet black hair, a haunting beauty rarely seen in these parts especially for an imperial. The only thing that seemed to set her features off into something of a Witch like look was that spider web marking on her face. He shook his head to avoid staring at the female and spoke up "Have fun striking the tree?" he asked in what sounded like a quiet, slightly eastern accented voice.

The cold didn't really do much for Jareth either as while he felt it, it wasn't as bad as his body had started to grow a thicker fur coat than what he had originally. Only problem was now, was that when they got into warmer places he would feel the heat more.

Those Nords really must have liked holding khajiits prisoner.. Nina thought to herself when another one she had not yet noticed approached her and asked her about if striking the tree was fun. Something had caught her attention as the Cathay-raht grabbed a small log and set it aflame before adding it to the already burning firepit. Noticing that he was looking at the mark on her face, Nina moved some of her hair to cover that part.

Urgh.. I thought i made it clear that i did not want to be spoken to.. However.. They are watching me.. Nina's thoughts continued and she wondered if they knew about her true profession yet. Not many would know about her markings, so she would be safe for the moment.. if the truth were uncovered it would mean a large annoyance that she could not afford at the present moment.

"Not many people would have the guts to try and approach me.. or maybe you think im a scared little girl trying to act tough" Nina said not even bothering to look at the khajiit. "The blades have already assumed the latter, but they always have their eyes closed and cling on to their beliefs even when the world they once knew is falling to pieces.."

Taking the final bite out of the apple the Imperial woman threw the core into the fire and lifted the hood over her head to try and keep as much warmth in as possible.

"I am neither afraid of you, nor do I think of you as the frightened girl trying to act like the fearless warrior. " Jareth spoke as he poked at the fire with a long stick. "The Blades cling to their faith, seeking strength from it. Like the many followers of different religions and their respective offshoot cults. They see what they want to see, sometimes failing to see what is truly there." he added. Blunt, upfront.. somewhat secretive about her facial marking or maybe she doesn't like people staring at it. Hmm.. maybe she is a cultist of some kind and was arrested for following one? If so..what cult could she of belonged to that uses a spiders web... Mephala the webspinner would be obvious. Probably the only one unless she has something for the Lesser deadra. But then this could just be my random musings and it could be just something she might like. Probably to give her a..darker look so people leave her be. he thought, noting the way she seemed to act and how defensive she seemed to be. "All I see is someone who is cold, taking out aggression on a plant or trying to get their body back into the form it once had before going into prison. Or maybe both and create some warmth while they are at it." he added before taking another poke at the fire.

The apple core into the fire sent some cinders out and onto the dirt around the fire, he watched the apple core slowly dry out and begin to cook inside the fire. "Interesting web marking you have. Not to be blunt but.. you possibly a member of any cults concerning the Webspinner?" he asked quietly. Keeping his tone down enough so others wouldn't hear. "Not that I have any issue with it. Just curious about the mark and your..obviousness in attempting to hide it. No harm meant in any way." he kept his tone calm and peaceful, completely non-threatening. "By the way.. try keeping your knees against your chest like your sitting in the fetal position, helps keep the warmth in."

ooc: I would like to point out that the blades is infact a military organisation, not a religious cult or anything to do with faith. : P Think FBI but with swords.

ic: Gravious watched as a new Khajiit stepped out from the caravan, said hello and went to sit down next to Nina. He turned to Do'Nashi with an amused smile, "I guess they must've really knocked him on the head." He looked at the khajiit with some interest, he would've paid money to not spend time with Nina. After all, she seemed about as hospitable as a goblin on heat. Or was that fair to goblins? It doesn't matter. he decided and turned to the others.

The odd bunch of faces were muddy and some were a little bloody. He'd have to get them a bath - It was only right. "Let's get going then, shall we?" He stated out aloud as he grabbed a torch, lit it with his own and handed it to one of the prisoners. He nodded to Gorun who trodded off to do some chores around the camp. "Watch your stepping now." He added as he walked over some rope for a tent. The camp was still being put together, so tools, shields and random items were dotted around. He walked up to a guard, "Watch that woman at the campfire." He whispered, "If she does anything strange, call it." The man nodded and went into the shadows where he would remain hidden with the rest of the foliage. Even if the man didn't like squatting behind a bush. You didn't deny orders from a captain in the blades.

"Alright folks, grab yourself a torch and let me light it. Stick close, I'm not sure what to expect but this area should be safe. Bring something to eat with you if you want. But we'll only be out for maybe ten or fifteen minutes."

One by one the group of ex prisoners gathered near gravious, grabbing a torch like he asked and waited as he lit it. Arwayn nodded her head at the man as he lit her torch, then looked over at the cooking meat again, thinking about grabbing a hunk to eat. No, I cant wait just a few more moments, best not to seem ravonous to my rescuers. she scolded herself inwardly and shook the thoughts away.

"Let's get going then, shall we?" Gravious said aloud as he grabbed a torch, lit it with his own and handed it to one of the prisoners. He nodded to Gorun who trodded off to do some chores around the camp. "Watch your stepping now." He added with a smile as he stepped over some rope that was to help hold up a tent. It is nice to see that he has lost that scowl on his face. Arwayn followed behind the Imperial, stepping carefully so that she would not trip over the various objects littered across the ground. Occassionally she reached out to place an arm against some of the larger objects she walked past, to help her keep balance as her body felt a little too sore and weak to do alot of moving around. She stayed silent as they walked, not being in the mood to do any chatting unless directly spoken too until she felt better.

well if everyone knew everything about the blades in the rp, wouldn't that be allknowing uberness? :P i may know thats not what they are like, but she doesnt. Nina assumed that about the blades and could be doing that to get a rise out of someone :P

"I think you got hit on the head during the escape.." Nina said shaking her head at his comments at not being afraid. all of her actions so far should have given this khajiit a much different impression that he seemed to have. Not a good sign.. could be he is figuring out who i am she thought to herself and she may as well jinxed herself as he asked next about the marking she hid on her face, and asked if she was in any cults concerning the webspinner, making her freeze. Not many would even know about the connection of the marking and Mephala, making her wish she kept the Nordic dagger on hand to cut this man's tongue out before he could tell the others. her eyes clearly showed this violent intention.

"If you know what is good for you, stop asking questions" Nina said, her tone icier than usual, and stood up suddenly. "The last thing i need is them hunting down people on 'assumptions'" seeing one of the blades looking her way she glared. "Funny, i could have sworn im a free woman now, yet i still feel like im a prisoner with them watching.." she muttered but then had an idea. Lets see is they are keeping an eye on me.. she thought to herself as she walked towards the woods in the opposite direction of the captain and the other prisioners.

ooc: I know that the blades are more like the secret police of the Emperor. Both as the Secret Service and CIA/MI5 guys. But still, he was basing that off an assumption that all imperials (Or at least most of those in the military and the like) Are religious. And Shadow I get the visage that Nina looks like that chick from Underworld.

ic: Jareth shook his head at her veiled threat, he knew he was capable of frying her if she tried anything violent against him. "Soon it won't be so easy to hide." He spoke out to her as she headed off. The khajiit truly was not afraid of the ice queen at all, all she seemed to do was toss the threats out and not act on them. The male continued to warm himself by the fire, waiting to see if anyone else would come over and chat with him. Or would they just go off on a patrol or whatever it was they were doing.

Either way Jareth was sitting there alone at the moment, aside from the guard whom was doing the cooking. Since the Ice queen had stormed off in a fit from what seemed to be an innocent question. The others were all to eager for a walk it seemed, but hey out of it, he'd be the first to get something to eat! Hell anything was better than the crap those nordic guards served, but then Jareth also had an advantage the other prisoners didn't. He could reheat his food if it was extremely cold, whether they noticed it or not was a different story.

ooc: Understandable, my bad guys! : D

ic:

Gravious sighed inwardly as he began the patrol, the dark corners of the forest offered little sanctury as over the years; Gravious would suspect even the smallest of shadows. What a [censored] place to live. he thought. He'd been to Skyriim a few times in his career. What with the blades headquarters being so close. And everytime he realised how much more civilised Cyrodiil was. How much more stable all the cities were. He shook his head at the state of things now though. If only the world could see us as we were. he mused as he stared aimlessly into the flame of his torch.

"So, where were you all when you got captured, eh?" he asked the silent prisoners. None of them had really spoken since they'd started, it was understandable but the captain thought it had become slightly awkward. Besides - It was never smart to give people too much time to think. Distractions were the best way to keep up moral. Any soldier knew that.

His thoughts stopped instantly as he saw a shadow move. Or had he? Maybe the multiple torches had moved the shadow, not some human form. Or was it human? "Khajiits, is there something out there?" He asked peering into the cold, foggy forest that now surrounded them. Gravious' hand went straight to his mace. He wouldn't be caught with his trousers down, oh no sir!

-----------

The dude that's watching Nina. /pervert

He watched, silently and without thought as she looked towards the captain. She knows. he thought, and he knew about her - Or at least he had a hunch. You don't live for a few hundred years and not begin to see trends in people. Evil and good. While simple and childish notions - They are the only ways to truly describe the human mind. And hers, well - Hers was definitely evil.

He followed. His sharp bosmer eyes pierced the darkness like a dagger. She was baiting him. A smile crept across his face. She was good. He reached for his dagger and drew it, keeping the back of it pressed against his inner arm to hide it. But, she'd probably see it. He paced past a khajiit that was sitting alone by the fire. "Evenin'" he greeted and passed him. The prisoners Gravious brought back were in a bad shape. But he'd seen worse. But hey, hadn't every hundred or so year old elf seen it all? Pretentious bastards. he thought, his soft leather boots crunched at the snow.

He'd nearly caught up to her. The murderer. He could see it. It was written in almost everything she did. Her walk, her hair - Even the way she held her hands by her sides. It was interesting how murderers alike could sense these things. Like a badge you wear that only each other can see.

"You know, walking alone at night isn't particularly clever. You never know who's watching." He greeted, raising his voice so that she could hear him. He wasn't more than a few meters behind her. More then safe distance for sure.. Or was it?

that wasn't intended sib, but originally she was also a vampire in a previous rp.. pure coincidence xD

As the voice spoke behind her, Nina stopped and smiled when she realised that her assumptions proved to be true. "Sometimes i like to get a little privacy away from all the eyes that seem to glance my way.. It is just too much for a little girl like me to handle sometimes" The imperial woman said as she spun around on her heels, took a step backwards from the elf, and rested her hands on the cut up trunk behind her.

"So then tell me why you followed me? Was it because you thought an innocent and defenseless woman needed someone big.. and strong to protect her.." The imperial woman took a relaxed posture as she said this, arching her back as she stretched herself her chest rising and falling back as she rested her back on the trunk..

But as her eyes glanced at his stance, her head cocked to one side in curiousity before speaking again "However.. the way your arm is held to your side speaks a much different agenda on your mind.. one much darker, even for a man in such a honourable and distinguished order" she continued, anolysing the man in front of her. The bosmer seem to look in his forties, but his eyes betrayed that he was older than he appeared like most elves. A man who had seen countless conflicts, and had ended many lives.. the blood comes off but never truly goes away, Nina knew that much.

"I see.. An old man like you being constantly given orders by someone who you would consider a child in comparison in age, really must have an impact on your pride.. To know that your experiences aren't ever worth a title that he has.. must make you want to take that out that.. frustration.. on someone weaker than you, like a woman" Nina said almost casually as she lent there, both hands squarely behind her back, grasping the handle of the blade she left there earlier.

As she did this, the Asassin continued to take notes on what the man would do.. the older ones aren't so easy to anger, or succumb to her charm.. with many years of experiencing tactics people like her would use. This would take much more skill than she was using at the present time.. luckily for her she was trained well.

you asked us khajiit what we smelled. i went with a human. i hope you don't mind me deciding it.

DoNashi

Carefully avoiding all the ropes from the tents that were being set up he walked behind the rest of the group. They past the campfire and there he saw yet another khajiit taking a seat next to the woman. I rather not be in his shoes at this moment. But then again I never really spoke to her and first impressions aren’t always right.

“I guess they must have really knocked him on the head.” The captain said with an amused smile on his face. DoNashi smiled back. “maybe she is not a very social woman, and has communication problems.” Leaving it at that he returned to his thoughts about the warmer lands where his wife and daughter waited for him. I hate this cold weather and the faster we get back to warmer places the happier I’ll be.

Lost in thought DoNashi had picked up a torch and followed the captain and the others. He could already imagine the reactions from his wife and daughter when he’ll be home again. The kid will probably run up to me, screaming my name and waving with her hands. While her mother will probably give me the look most mothers give to their children when they do something they are not allowed to do. And she’ll then complain about how I did not return when I told her I would be back. She’d call me some names, gave me another strange face and then smile, closing me in her arms.

Holding on to that picture they walked further in to the forest. Looking around, he thought how easy it would be for others to sneak up on them. The silence didn’t make the forest a nicer place. The silence made it more like a funeral march. And why couldn’t it be. We all lost friends. The captain lost his friend back in the cell, I’m sure not all the blades got back from the fort and who knows who my fellow prisoners lost before getting captured.

"So, where were you all when you got captured, eh?" the captain suddenly asked the silent prisoners. He was glad about the distraction.

Concentrating on the past his memories about that day slowly came back.

He saw the band of bandits or marauders appear from the woods. stopping the horses that were pulling the wagon and pulling of the merchant DoNashi was paid for to defend. Angry on the other guards for not wanting to believe his warning he picked up his giant two hander and rushed in to save the man’s life. But the caravan guards got caught by surprise and none of them were ready except for the khajiit. Eventually they overpowered him and knocked him unconscious, just to wake up later in his cell.

“I was guarding a caravan. I smelled humans in the forests and tried to warn the other guards, but they only saw me as muscles and no brain. They refused to..-

"Khajiits, is there something out there?" The captain asked while peering into the cold, foggy forest that now surrounded them. his hand went straight to his mace. he could see that something captured the captain attention and made him look around like someone who expected a fight. Closing his eyes he completely concentrated on the scents his nose could caught. He smelled the feint scent of a pack of wolves somewhere to far away to be able to make any problem. The aromas of the pine trees came from everywhere and filled his nose with a great fragrance. He turned his head to the right. Away from the group and the camp that lay in the other direction than he was looking at. The wind blew through his fur and brought with him the scent of…

“Humans, and there is one very close.” He whispered to the others. “ are you sure no one followed us?” not awaiting answer, he stepped forward following his nose, not making a sound and staying low in the shadows. With a fast movement he stretched his arm in the shadows through some low bushes and pulled back. A soft scream came over the lips of a human when he held him by the throat in an steel grip. He threw him down in front of the captain.

“is this one of yours?”

Jareth sat by the fire in contemplation as an elf came past him and greeted him. He nodded in return and then stared into the fire. Figuring by now that the Elf was going after the girl. He looked to the male and blinked, noticing a slight shine by his arm, the khajiit blinked and got up. He assumed it was potentially a dagger or a knife of some kind and followed behind, mostly curious as to what or why they seemed to be watching the girl and one was even following her! Potentially he could be looking to try and do nasty things to her! Which would be wrong on many levels but if the girl was whom he had figured what she was (Not who :P) then this might turn out to be something very odd indeed.

While sneaking wasn't on his list of things he trained in, keeping out of sight was not hard and with Khajiit low light vision and their excellent hearing would make it easier for him to watch from a distance to see what was going on. He crouched down behind some bushes and peered through them, watching and listening between the exchange the two would have. She seemed like an excellent speaker, maybe a seductress?

ooc: Sorry! Uni again.. Bastardo! Easter Holidays are comin' up and you can all expect me to be there!

ic:

Gravious nearly jumped out of his skin as the khajiit Do'Nashi retrieved a man. He threw him down to the ground infront of the captain, "Is this one of yours?" the khajiit asked. The strong torchlight lit up the features of the man. He was nordic, with blue tribal markings but he had bulging veins that stood out awkardly along his face. He wore thick bearskin armour with a fur hood. "No, definitely not mine."

The nordic man began to writh and stand up, he face was flushed and his eyes showed an anger that Gravious had never seen before. "You all face doom at his hands, you cannot know the horror that marches upon Tamriel.. But I know.." He began to laugh and jumped away from them. Gravious drew his sword and was about to question him when the tall nord began to.. Mutate? His skin began to bulge and twist, white fur poked out of his skin and in a few seconds, where once a nord stood - Now a tall, strong white bear. "What the..?" Gravious muttered.

The great bear roared in anger, wolf howls came out behind them. "Stay back!" He called out to the prisoners as he began to move towards the bear. He placed two fingers on his lips and whistled loudly, sounds of his men scrambling to and fro could be heard. The bear roared again and began to pump it's chest. Gravious placed another foot forward, his torch raised high infront of him and his sword in his right hand ready and raised.

--------------

"You seem to think I'm as naive as a baby child." The wood elf stated, looking at her features with mild interest. She seemed pretty but the spiderweb tattoo made her ugly. "They may not be as experienced as I. But this is not my show, I am an actor and must work my way up through the ranks once again." He shrugged, "It is something which only keep us elves going. If we were just to be still and laze around, bragging about our age. Life would get pretty boring." He smiled, "And there is no frustration. I'm just old enough to expect anything."

He heard the whistle and sheathed his blade, "I would recommend you head back into the central camp now. The captain does not call for nothing." he stated, his voice had become hurried and critical.

you do know some people have not really posted for a while, did they say anything about it and will you do something about it or just let it be? let it be, let it be, let it be :-p ok sorry.

Do’Nashi

The captain stepped forward raising sword and torch, “stand back, everyone.” He spoke while he awaited the beast’s attack. there have to be other were-creatures around. What else would respond to the roar of the bear. Don’t they usually live in solitude, avoiding each other? Why would they hunt in pack this time?

"I am not here to supply you with arms, we are rescuing you. That is all." Do’Nashi said “Do you remember saying that to us when you got us out of that prison? I guess you are wishing now that you did gave us a weapon” shooting a quick smile at the captain he picked up a heavy branch from off the ground. Because of the length he had to break it but that gave it a good point at the end, good for stabbing.

“find something to fight with or go to the camp and get some decent weapons.” he told the others while stepping next to the captain. holding up the torch in his left hand and the piece of wood in his right he was ready to kill. the adrenaline racing through his veins made him forget the bruises he still had. God, I hope the other beasts are far away.

“you’re not going to take this one down on your own, no sir, you are not. I want my fair share” He stated. looking somewhat afraid. it wasn't the first were-creature he saw, but still. the sight of such creature was terrifying. but to be brave, one must be afraid first.

I hate this place.

ooc: You Lie! *Runs away* @ Uglius and the Uni :P

ic:
Jareth first heard the loud bear roar from a distance, his ears flattening at the sound. It was highly unpleasent but yet.. awakening! He stood up and bolted off, not caring off the two saw him run off back towards the main camp. Bear attack? He thought as he looked around and headed off in the direction of the patrol, his senses alert and ready as the sounds of a very angry bear and..wolves? Skidding to a sudden halt behind the other prisoners and the soldiers that had gathered and spotted the massive white bear thumping its chest. His heart froze for a moment as he stared at the massive beast, not much could make him so suddenly terrified, well.. much that he would admit at least! Well..of course this was not true, allot would make him afraid if he encountered it. Something was off about this, the captain if he was truly a blade wouldn't call out for others if it was just a white bear.

Something was definitely off, his mind ticked over the possibilities, the wolf howls and the bear.. could it be coincidence? Probably, this place was a haven for wolves. Rather than not take a chance as the bear was definitely hostile the khajiit started the workings of a spell, a destructive one that came to his mind. While it had only been at most three months since he hadn't used his spell work, however destruction was one of the schools he studied most and as such came to mind much quicker. But yet he wasn't ready to just sling a spell out like some random apprentice that was pissing themselves at the sight of an antronach! Of course this was only a BEAR! A Big one with the man whom saved their lives and in a sense, carried their lives in his hands was in front of it. As far as he knew it was a big, white rabid bear. And angering it would do nothing good for the man in front. If he missed, the human would become one stunning display of crucifixion and the bear would tear them apart anyway! His right hand had lightening arcing up it as he had readied the destruction, just in case. The display didn't drain any of his power thankfully, just if he used the spell would it detract from it. He moved closer towards the group, not to close but close enough for a better aim if things went really hairy.

Do'Nashi

The Khajiit that was talking to the strange woman appeared behind them. according to how he was readying his hand it was clear he was going to use magic. "it's a werebear." DoNashi shouted at the khajiit. "i suppose you didn't bring any weapons with you?"

Jareth looked to the male khajiit "No weapons.. but if that is a werebeast then silver or magic would be needed to kill it..Normal weapons do not do much against them" he said, eyeing the beast off. Seriously contemplating on letting off his lightening bolt or not. Well..hesitating really, if it didn't kill it' the spell would harm it and enrage it and send the bear on a mass rage session on them. Then there was the point he didn't regenerate magic like other people did due to his birthsign's curse. But there was the advantage of a deeper well to draw from so to speak.

just so you guys know the mark doesn't cover a side of Nina's face it only covers over the eye socket, and a little around it. So not so big as it is being described currently, and sib be paitent ;p sometimes you have to give a chnce for people to catch up before asking if its dead.

Nina simply blinked at the elf's response, seeing everything she said having no effect whatsoever as he replied. He must be more experienced than i thought... the woman thought bitterly as she then heard the whistle and the elf saying she should return to the camp. From the way his voice changed, it was something serious which meant they would all be distracted. It seems now the situation is changing again.. maybe in my favour. Soon i might not even have to be around these people who don't see eye to eye with someone of my.. calibre a smile came to her face as these new thoughts came to mind, and her hands pulled to retrieve the dagger that had been stuck there.

"Well looks like you were here to protect me after all hmm?" She asked as the imperial woman looked down at the dagger, dissapointed at its bluntness but kept it at her side to sharpen it later. "However im sure whatever it is, you wouldn't need an entire group of highly trained men to go to the threat unless it was more than just one enemy.. But your captain obviously knows best.." Nina said and shrugged before walking past the elf that had followed her. "You comming along or are you just going to follow behind me again for a view.." She muttered the last part as she walked off.. Men were all the same no matter the age.

Barrett, Rest Stop

Barrett had been quietly following behind the group with a torch in hand, scanning the forest for anything suspicious. It was a force of habit, and had been ever since he deserted his old gang. He let his guard down once, and his life was ruined because of it. I’m never going to make that mistake again he thought. But even with his awareness, it still surprised him when DoNashi pulled a tattooed Nord from the bushed. The Nord looked weird to Barrett, but he figured that he was just a deformed kid.

But he was wrong. After saying some random, mad sounding words to the captain, the Nord transformed himself into a huge bear. Barrett instinctively jumped back and dropped into a combat stance, adrenaline pumping into his veins, preparing him to either fight or flee. But then he noticed that everybody else wasn’t reacting in a very panicked manner. He found that very strange, but he wasn’t going to allow their stupidity distract him if the werebear attacked.

Gravious tried to keep the bear distracted as long as he could. This is no were.. he thought to himself. He checked to his right and saw Gorun charging. He nodded to the man and began to shout at the bear. He moved closer to it, waving the torch frantically, "Come on you hairy [censored]! Attack!" He cried, fear and adrenaline pumped in his veins. He looked again and saw Gorun charging with Betty drawn. The bear lashed out with a giant paw which threw his torch to the ground. Gravious doubled back in the pain that seared along his arm. The bear tried to move forward to attack again but it was too late. Gorun was on him now and charged into it with a giant swing from the warhammer. The blow connected with the bears skull creating a deadly crushing sound. Because of the momentum, Gorun himself was flung past the bear and rolled into the thick brush, the warhammer falling after him.

The bear flumped to the ground, thick dark green blood stained it's white fur. The creature didn't change. "This is no were." He mumbled through grated teeth. Other men were joining him now. "Search the forest. Be wary, we have people who can turn into creatures. Expect wolves." He ordered to a few of them. He turned to the prisoners, "Give them your torches, our patrol is over for now." He added, shaking his head. He knelt beside the dead bear, who's stench was fouler than any bear he had encountered. What sort of crazy magic is this?

------------

"I am not here to protect you. I would much rather you dead." The elf stated bluntly, "And I shall follow behind, because I do not trust you." The elf allowed himself a slight smile and followed after her. He enjoyed the banter between them. It had been a while since he had met anyone with any real wit. He looked over to wear his captain had called them, the camp was still occupied by blade soldiers but the vast majority of them had run over to their captains aid. He felt the need to join them but was already given a task which could very well save the lives of other blade soldiers.

Jareth watched as another man came in and smacked the beast down with a massive warhammer. Relinquishing his spell he ran over to the Captain and knelt down beside him spying his arm and hand, the damage done to it. He looked at the bear and shivvered at the smell emanating from it and the...blood? That was leaking from its smashed in skull. He shook his head and looked up at the captain "Let me take care of the wound, I know healing magics and can even give you a once over with a cure disease spell. In case the bear gave you anything nasty." he said in a quiet tone. He raised up one hand, a soft hue of blue magic emanated from it, showing he was not fooling around with what he could do. Or what he was offering up for the captain.

His ears were up and perked, listening for everything and anything that was around him, not wanting to be caught off guard at all.
